As part of the Dranovian contingent rotated out for duty on Fornaite One, Strafe Za’ Natir had been determined to make the best of the worst working conditions on the barely habitable world. It had only taken a week for the place to wear on his soul and leave him disillusioned at the planet ever recovering.
Terran Egyptologist Heather O’Leary was the lead recovery specialist assigned to assist the planet in reclaiming the culture and heritage lost during the wars and environmental disasters that nearly destroyed the planet. Though the horrors of what had occurred on the world shocked her to the core, Heather was determined to do whatever she could to save what little remained of their history.
As a strange twist of fate throws the two together, the members of Balaneer’s court are plotting to reclaim the planet they believe still belongs to them. After years of licking their wounds and hiding in shadows to regain their power, the evil will choose this time to rise, leaving the desperate couple struggling to save what little remains of the soul of Fornaite One and its people.
Storage is a Dawn Guardian posted to Fornaite, the planet that was devastated during the war between the Daemons and the Dranovians! Most of the original cities have been covered in a sandlike material that astroarcheologists are busy removing and transforming into usable bricks. The planet's inhabitants are a depressed people who hide themselves away and allow the Dranovians to protect them while doing nothing to help excavate the old cities. Dr Heather O'Leary is taking up the position of Chief Researcher at the excavation of the city of Shameek, while Elias T'Alq is a Dranovian in training to become s Dawn Warrior. They meet on their journey to take up their assignments. Strange has also been assigned to Shameek as a punishment but has found that he likes his posting. The three of them become vital to the defence of not only Shameek but of the whole planet! Once again Mikayla Lane has written a totally entertaining and engrossing story of the fight between the Daemons and the Light! Looking forward to the next book!
This instalment was interesting in that the storyline shifted from Earth and the focus of this story was not Grai. However, therefore parts that were impractical. Children crossing a planet by themselves without becoming possessed on a daemon infested planet. Especially, a toddler? There was no beast participation which was sad as their contributions and personalities are interesting. The editing continues to be an issue but not enough to stop reading. Lastly, where did the Valendrans go? As this series unfolds, Ivint, the Valendran commander, becomes a footnote and barely is mentioned. He and Fjorn, the mountain hybrid leader, are whispers in the series. It would be nice to bring them more fully into the action instead of just the T'Alq family. Overall, the series is e notable to read.
I love these three intertwined series! Each book introduces someone new but also the characters in other books are there too. I feel so sorry for Elias and his mate even though he hasn't had his book yet. Strafe is one badas$ warrior. Heather is feisty and brilliant. The plot thickens with plans from the evil of all the worlds. Tristan is just so cool.
Intense, with a ton of great new clues to what can happen with the battle for earth. Strafe, Heather and all the kids are simply spectacular. I loved the plot/story-line and the writing is phenomenal. Fabulous book Mikayla Lane!
