A Bride For Samuel

Rate this book
What if you wanted to prove someone wasn't as crazy as everyone thought? This was Callie Johnson's problem. By faking her death, her Uncle Jessie had kept her safe from a dangerous family member.

Except now there is a big problem.

Jessie Johnson, Callie's uncle, is sent to the North Texas Lunatic Asylum by his greedy brother who wants the Double J Ranch and she will do anything to free him from that awful place.

Samuel White stepped in for his brother who married his childhood sweetheart instead of the mail order bride his Ma arranged for. In book #3 of Brides of Nora White, Samuel, the fun-loving brother who never intended to marry in the first place, finds himself attached to someone who is even more adventurous than himself.

Can these two save each other from all the craziness or will they both wind up behind closed doors in the Lunatic Assylum?

Will the secret that has been kept from Nora White finally be revealed?

A Bride for Samuel is the 3rd book in the Brides of Nora White, a pioneer and frontier sweet historical western romance.

She needs a little help obtaining freedom for her uncle. He has wrongfully been committed to the Texas Lunatic Asylum! It is a long story, and she tells all in due time. Samuel and his brothers vow to help her and the fun begins.

Callie Johnson’s father and her Uncle Jessie struck it big in the California gold mines and they bought some land and started a ranch in Texas with their fortune. Her father passed away and Callie and her uncle continued working the ranch. Her lazy Uncle Jacob demanded her Uncle Jessie make him a partner in the ranch and when that didn’t work they figured out he was going to try to kidnap Callie for ransom money. Callie started wearing blue jeans and a hat with her hair hidden up in it, so her Uncle Jacob wouldn’t be able to find her and then her Uncle Jessie faked her death so Jacob wouldn’t keep looking for her. When Jacob couldn’t kidnap Callie he forced his way onto the ranch and had Jessie admitted to the lunatic asylum and took over the ranch.

The only way Callie could get her uncle out of the asylum was to have her husband sign for taking Jessie out of the asylum. So Callie decided to become a mail order bride so she would have a husband to sign her uncle out and if that didn’t work they would break him out of the asylum.

This was another great story by Cyndi Raye.

The Secret is out

I can only imagine how Nora must feel after her heart is broken. She has found each of her boys a wife. Now her life has to change. Samuel and Callie are such a fun couple. Cute book.

In this story it picks upright where the last left off. ) although if you haven’t read these in order you might be a little lost but not much. Best to read in order but don’t pass it by if you don’t have access to the previous books)
Samuel is a fun carefree adventurous young man so when he agrees to marry the woman his brother was supposed to marry. Boy does she give him a run fir his money! Wearing new fangle blue jeans and telling him they have to go and rescue her uncle from an Insane Asylum! He’s not sure what he’s gotten into but somewhere amongst the craziness last be finds it’s way to them both.
In the meantime to patriarch of the family gets a blow to her emotions. She has to mourn for awhile alone everyone wonders if she’d be ok.
Love this series and how it’s turning out. Love how we can step in and be sitting in the kitchen of the main house, or riding along a creek bed with one of them. So easy to get lost in the story.
