When Shalonda meets Mac, she quickly finds a place in his heart. Together, they share a wonderful two-year relationship. But, all of that is destroyed once Shalonda discovers his cheating ways. Although it is satisfying, Shalonda’s heart is still crushed. This is when she finds herself lost… Sometimes in life you fall in love only to be hurt. While some people vow to never love again, others pray to be able to recapture that feeling… In Shalonda’s case, it places her somewhere in the middle. Leaving her open to ‘possibilities’. Once her world is shattered, who is there to pick her up? No one other than her festive cousin Randy. He helps her snap back to reality and pushes her to pursue her dreams. While hanging out with Randy, Shalonda’s path crosses Kevin’s who just happens to be the biggest hustler on the south side of Phoenix. The two are attracted to each other from day one. Within weeks, Kevin is able to fill the void in Shalonda’s heart, opening it up all over again. Now, trust is an issue. Is it warranted or is Shalonda chasing ghosts? Find out when truths begin to appear at the strangest times. Not only will Shalonda’s strength be tested, but Kevin’s as well. Just pray that the outcome doesn’t devastate them both…
4.5 This was a good, fast-paced read as Shalonda's relationship with Mac plummeted right before her eyes. Her payback was crucial. I liked Kevin, he was overall a good dude. Randy brought the humor, and Knowledge was a snake. He and Zamira deserved each other. I believe this will make a great discussion book. Hoping there's a part 2
I'm not sure if I will be reading a part 2. I did not like shalonda at all. She was immature and petty all throughout. To keep a child away from his dad and his mom in on it was pretty much outlandish to me. I liked kevin. But getting a order of protection was too much then her cousin goes along with anything. She was too into her feelings when anyone said something about her cousin. Diamonds was just too much and not mentally a stable at times
From the very first page you knew this book was gonna be full of everything, that's makes a great read. Loved Shalonda's character from the gate and she wasn't to be messed with. This book flowed so smoothly and a such a steady pace with enough twist and turns, lies, secrets and betrayal that it held my attention to the very end and what a ending.....Kevin's mother keep telling him to treat woman right, but he finally found to one in Shalonda and didn't listen, so he cheated on the wrong chick. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds in PT.2, cause Ladies you can't leave us hanging... Highly recommend. Awesome job Shelli Marie & Teruka B Carey.
This was a good collabo by two talented authors. I was rooting for Shalonda after the way she was treated by Mac but I think the situation with Kevin could have been handled differently, on both their parts. Shalonda is definitely not the chick to try to get over on. Her revenge is harsh. Randy added the comedy to the story. My least favorite character was definitely Zamira with Knowledge coming in second. I hope that the book doesnt just end like this but there is at least a part two. There is still hope.
I kinda felt bad for Kevin. He met the right one when he met Shalonda. She wasn't playing no games with him. She had the worst luck with me, and then along came Kevin. There is nothing like a woman scorned. She was my girl from the very first mention of her name. The twists and turns, along with the lies and betrayal, gave me some ideas of my own. That ending left me wanting more. Hopefully there will be a part 2.
This book held my attention from the beginning to the end. I love Shalonda and Randy was too funny. I like how Shalonda lets them know you done cheated on the wrong chick. Kevin is stupid and Knowledge is retarded. That’s what Zamira get and Raul did her just right lol I loved it....I hope it’s a part 2 but I love how the book ended...Left us with what ifs but didn’t leave us wondering what happened to everybody
This book had me on the edge of my seat couldn’t put it down Shelli and Teruka has done it again patiently waiting for pt 2 hope Shalonda and Kevin make it back to each other and Knowledge gets what he deserve he was a snake suppose to b a friend. Raul not playing,
First I just to say Randy off the hook funny and well defined character loved him .....When will you learn ... Kevin definitely gonna identify ...Salina ain t having it ...Grab my ATTENTION and got me hostage for more ..Drama drama I loved it OUT FREAKING STANDING
Interesting storyline, just not much 'umph!'. May be the simplistic writing. Not enough drama, just didn't live up to the title. I'll read the next installment just to see how this ends. I hope it's only a two-parter, though.
I was not happy with this story .. I was not happy after the first chapter thought it would get better. I read lots of these books and I have to say this is the 4th book I've read this month that was disappointing. I won't read the sequel..
I laughed at what Shalonda did to Mac in the beginning but I'm sure he isn't going to let that slide. Kevin has learned that Knowledge had betrayed him. Zamira obsession with Kevin was sickening.
I was finish with this book in two days. This was a good read. The guy in this book was just plain dum. All of this could have been avoided if he would have just been honest, from the start.
Why cant men be faithful. Always got to mess up a good thing. I am so mad at Kevin. I love Shalonda she is a good person just been hurt. I hope they work it out.
Shalonda us truly the wrong chick to cheat on. If they are not going to be faithful they better stay away from her. I can't wait to see what happens next. This a must read
Teruka & Shelli y’all rock! This book was very good... I can’t wait to read part two. There was a very grammatical errors. I love when authors stray on topic.
I thought more of Shalonda’s past would come up but it didn’t. I felt she was being untrustworthy as well. Great read. I highly recommend this to others.
