*~~*ARC kindly provided by the author to me in exchange for an honest review *~~*

I am a fan of the light, easy writing ob Mona Marple and her fierce, enjoyable heroine Sandy.
This time she is involved in a murder case right the moment when she is coming home from her vacation with her boyfriend Tom, where she already had to solve a crime case in Scottland.

Without any time to breath, her advise is needed and despite trying to keep away and don't let her drag into the investigations, Sandy is soon following the plea.

The crime case had a surprising twist, we learned a few new characters, got a new side of the town.
I was really hooked by the book and had an entertaining read.

Sandy is growing more and more confident in her role as "wannabe" detective, and with great skills she manages to solve the case.

Of course the cozy mystery books like these can't be written without a tiny bit of questionable behaviour when it comes to the characters but this is what makes these books so entertaining. Because let's be honest: which person can easily go around and be a detective, questioning people and make their investigations? :D

I really enjoyed that this time Sandy was solving this case without the "help" of DC Sullivan, that she was using her skills and had to be brave in visiting a prison to interview the person who was accused of being the murder and who she was trying to find proof against it. The feeling while Sandy was visiting the prisoner was very palpable and I could totally imagine how it must feels like.

The book was also spiked with the new developed and deepening relationship between Tom and Sandy and more than once did I laugh out loud because of their sweet banter or Tom's horrified reactions. :D

5 out of 5 stars for it.

Read some of the other reviews and thought "Does anyone really read these stories?" If they did, how do they miss the obvious.
#1 - An attorney is not accused of hiring a hit man to murder their ex just because she/he represented the confessed murderer in a former indictment, is not arrested, thrown in jail and held without bail, without some kind of tangible evidence , not just supposition. Are people really that ignorant of the justice system?
#2 - When you have a woman who is purportedly built like Barbie (incredibly small waist among other things), you don't allude to her being pregnant (any woman who has ever been pregnant knows that the first thing to go is the waistline), but stating she is only showing a small pouf under her waist, and then, to top it all off gives birth at 31 weeks (total gestation period is 36 weeks) to a normal size baby from this little pouf, having never really looked pregnant. Fantasy!
#3 - When our little Barbie gets into an altercation with Tony and he looks like he is going to hit her and Sandy rescues her, the whole thing is left hanging in the air and is never explained. Like what was the argument about, why was he so livid that his face turned red and why were her legs bruised? You don't set up a situation and then leave your audience hanging, never revealing the reason/circumstance. It is not considered good practice for a writer to do this,
#4 - And, of course, Donovan, who we are led to believe is a good, hard-working family man, is suddenly the one who purportedly got Domingo into drugs. Really, if Donovan was into drug dealing he would not be delivering kegs of beer to bars. He'd be doing a lot better off than that.
I could go on and on, but I think I have set forth enough to get my point across.
It is a shame, because the premise of the story was good, but the obvious inability for some of the things that happened to have happened is damning.
I have read some of the Tweed series and enjoyed them, but I was horrified by this one. I'll have to think twice before reading another.

I was given this book for free for an honest opinion.

Bang! You’re Dead is Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery book number five and the most explosive so far.

As soon as Sandy and Tom came back from their trip there is another murder and Sandy is asked by the accused to investigate.
I really enjoy this series as each new book is better than the previous one. Sandy has finally embraced the fact that she is good at solving mysteries and some people are even suggesting she should open PI agency.
Stories are getting more complex, there is even mention of gangs and ordered murder. The main character is gaining confidence in her abilities, questioning suspects, visiting alleged murderers in prison, following possible suspects.
Books are fast paced and action filled as Sandy gets more assertive. There are also many new colorful characters to meet and get to know.
For those who like light, well written mysteries this is the perfect choice.

Good cozy!

Sandy and Tom have just returned from our of town. The next morning, Sandy finds out about a new murder. Ingrid Tate had already been arrested for her ex-husband's murder and she needs Sandy's help to find out who really hired a hot in Hugo. During her investigation, Sandy visits the prison several times. Once is to see the killer. That didn't go well at all. She and Tom also end up going to the Pink Flaming, an exotic dance club. Neither of them are happy about this experience and end up getting sent it by the owner for being too nosey. I like the way this is written and the very different characters in this cozy. I was very surprised at who actually hired a 'hit' and how it came about. I really liked this cozy and it's ending.

Another entertaining short but sweet cozy mystery by Mona Marple.
Waterfell Tweed is once again the charming setting for our main character Sandy to get caught up in a murder mystery. However, this time it was no accident that she started to sniff out clues to solve the case. She was summoned by the prime suspect! In order to prove her innocence, a well known female attorney asks for Sandy's help to find out who really killed her husband, a respected school teacher, since it definitely wasn't her (so she says)!
Sandy interviews many suspects but there's one twist even she didn't see coming at the very end!
I enjoyed this 5th book in the series and hope to read more by this author.

Twistst and turns

We’re back in Waterfell Tweed and as much as I enjoyed Mull, it’s good to be back. Yes, it’s home, but it’s not peaceful! Another murder for Sandy to solve. This case is opening up a whole new world for her. A grittier, darker world, of gangs and hits. And she finds herself in some awkward situations, in this book! It wasn’t AS light-hearted and fun as the other books in this series were, but it WAS really good! It had twistst and turns I didn’t see coming! There were oohs and aahs, surprise and shock at the end!

If she didn't, who did?

The story was going along ok, but there seemed to be a misconnect between Sandy and her boyfriend. It felt like they were strangers? I am jumping in here as a first book in the middle of a series but? Then as I came to the end I thought did I read this in my sleep? A BIG chunk was missing and it was over with no reason to be there. Left the reader fill in the blanks I guess?

This is the 5th in the series and the first time reading this author. The main character is Sandy and she is asked to find out who really set Ingrid up for Hugo's murder. She is really out of her depth here but she just keep going head and finally figures it all out. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of her adventures.

Good story.

Really good story but the editing let it down occasionally in places. Wrong names used a couple of times and a there were a few head scratching errors in there as well. Another read through would be my advice.

This was a really good story.

The book started off slowly but it pickled up and became a real page turner. I am a supporter of books that show the positive side of people. This one side did. Good job. Thank you.

Bang! You’re Dead (Waterfell Tweed #5) was a good read by Mona Marple. A local teacher is murdered in Waterfell Tweed and it rocks the village to it’s core. Things get intense when the police reveal that he was murdered by a hit man. Sandy is asked to help find out what happened. This was another good read and I can’t wait to read more by the author.
