"Drop the daggers," he said.
"I can't." My voice was a choked rasp.
"Drop them!"
"I literally can't. They're stuck to my hands."

This is so good. Gooder than good. I meant, great. There were many action-filled chapters, but not the filler kind of action. Tenacious and impulsive have never looked this good in a heroine. Characters like Serenity usually drain me; not necessarily against them because sometimes I'm just inherently a lazy person. But I'm wide awake and metaphorically biting my nails in anticipation throughout the whole read.
And Serenity was one dynamic character. She influences positivism and hope and warmth and brightness to those people around her. Also, she's not narrow-minded. Determined but not too prideful to acknowledge help or to learn from mistakes.
With that said, she did have the tendency to carry everyone's baggage. Good thing for her, she has the power. But even if she had it, I want to shake her sometimes for it. But I did know it came with being such a huge personality and a great character.
I'm content with the pacing, the delish medium-burn of world building. I also find the attraction between Serenity and other swoony heroes enticing. God, I will wait for them. coughsSweet torture it iscoughs.
Also, can someone kill Killian now. Please? If I never see that asshole ever again, I'll be set for life. Thanks!
Oh and one last thing, I don't accept that. I just don't. In a robot voice: Activate; In denial mode.
