Noun. ‘A strong feeling of support or allegiance.’
For some, loyalty can be bought. For others, it’s earned. But the thing about loyalty—it can change in an instant. All it takes is one act, one decision, and loyalty shifts to betrayal in the blink of an eye…a sin which cannot go unpunished.
Not in this world.
But sometimes things happen beyond our control, forcing our allegiances to change. Like the mob enforcer who wants nothing more than to seduce the assassin hired to kill him. Or the FBI agent who falls for the woman whose past holds ties with the mafia.
Yet, no matter the reason or motive, the consequences of betrayal are always deadly.

This was just a super quick little prologue to Ginger Ring's upcoming new release Destroying Dominic. It was a bit too short to really get to know either character or to delve too deeply into the plot, but it left me intrigued enough that I will be reading the full-length book...
With each book that I read I can assure you that my preference takes the front row. I mean, everyone knows that I love MC books, the more I got the more I want. But there's also another genre that I'm fond of and that's Mafia books. The darker the better. And this lady knows how to write them. Ginger Ring is in my book life not that long but I hope for long. Does that make sense? I sure hope so. Her writting is unique and dark, intense and with so much between each chapter. Just give her a chance and you'll see. Taken for the Cleanse is her latest release and it's a story that is included with several othera in Craving Loyalty Anthology. Oh boy... This book explores the lifes of Stephanie and Dominic. Stephanie might look like every other girl but she's not. She doesn't like to be surrounded by to many people. She just feels lonely despite having people constantly around her. Working in a bridal shop can be rewarding but also a complete madness. Dominic is a reserved guy that trusts no-one. He's used to doing the dirty work for his boss and that is something that he doesn't talk about. Being the cleaner for the mob can be a busy and dark job... Sometimes the mistakes from the past can compromise your future. Secrets can become a problem when you don't pay attention... Sweet Jesus... What the hell happened? It was a quick story but with so much in between. Amazing plot, super mysterious and intense. Each chapter just made want to have more answers. And I'm so glad that I have the next book ready to be devoured. Destroying Dominic here I come... Ginger I was mad but it all dissipated when I remembered that I had the next book ready to be devoured. Dayum woman... Dayum... I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Chasing Danger might be a short read but it packs in a fucking punch. I am really not surprised since Shana is one kickass author. I have read all of her books and forever will. She isn’t new to darker romance but this one is different than the others.
Marx is a soldier in the Shams, a Irish gang in Boston led by somewhat of a father figure. When Riley’s stepdaughter is in danger, he puts Marx in charge of her safety. Delia isn’t used to this life. She has been avoiding it since her mother married a gang boss two years ago. Now, she is in the middle of it all. She just wants the danger to be lifted so she can go back to school. What she doesn’t expect is to feel so safe with Marx. He might be bad but she also sees the good in him. Will he be able to keep her safe or will distraction put them in even more danger?
Wow. There is a whole lot of story in this one! I read it in about an hour. I had to know what was coming next. I still do!
Quotes:
I chase danger the way others chase dreams.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think I was a funny bastard.”
This man wants to smile, but he’s never had a reason. I want to give him that reason.

These were great starter stories in Craving Loyalty. I call them starter stories because they end so that you wonder what's going to happen now. You want more of the story to continue. I do wish that some were longer, or that I could find the continuation of the stories. A few of them were okay, but in general this is a good boxset to read. I had only read one of the authors in this group, Ginger Ring, and I found her story "Taken to the Cleaner" to be a good one. I would have liked to read more of this story.
If you like mafia stories and to read about men and women who are looking for that one person to really care for them, love them, and be loyal to them, then you should read this boxset. I will have to look for more stories by these authors to see if they have continuations to these stories.
I give the boxset a 3.5 star review. As I said, some of the stories were okay. They weren't bad, just okay.
I love a good anthology and Craving Loyalty will be a good option for other readers who enjoy getting quick shots of several stories without having to invest a lot of reading time.
With the Craving Loyalty anthology you are getting 12 quick stories that give you just enough to tease your taste buds with a little bit of danger, a little bit of the hot and spicy romance and sometimes just a peak at a possible HEA.
You can look forward to stories about the Mafia, some dirty Irish, lots of hot cops, my favorites, MC's among others.
Probably my favorite...though I think it could be developed into MORE was The Devil's Own: Brotherhood...MC and a social worker. Elsa Kurt flips the script a little with this one...and I don't want to give it away as it happens at the end...but usually things are a little different in most of the MC books I have read.
Also of note that I enjoyed was The Boss a quick Crime Family Story with the female lead being the head of the family? Talk about a script flip! Add in a sexy undercover CIA agent...sold!
Chasing Danger...Irish mob also one of my favorite story lines and its made even better when foot soldier is put in charge of the innocent step daughter of the boss. Talk about skirting a line of danger! It's twisty and I am definitely going to be looking into this one more.
Overall, there was no disappointment in this read. If you are looking for quick reads to tempt you and pass the time then this one is for you!
Craving Loyalty is collection of short stories about...loyalty, the fragile, and sometimes deadly accepts of it when the heart is involved. Since the stories are short details, background, etc tend to be lacking and some stories abrupt. A few have events that seem random and hard to follow. However, the collection is a great read for teasing the senses. You can read all at once or a couple at a time, I honestly didn't dislike any of the stories, tough there are some that i didn't necessarily think were great. Not all the stories have a HEA, but that doesn't mean there are all negative endings either. The collection works at intrigue and definitely stimulates the imagination.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
-Breaking point: is about not getting over your first love, great last line- " ...if there's one thing i've learned in this life, being loyal to yourself is the best thing you can do." -Broken Hearts: this story broke my heart -Chained: is a prequel to another story, but feels like it was ripped out of the middle of one. its very choppy and disorienting, but there's enough there to keep in me interested and want to know more -Chasing Danger: hopeful story, a twist i didn't see coming -Olympia: vague and confusing -Piece of work: disjointed and abrupt -Taken to the Cleaner: i'm going to need more of this story -
Craving Loyalty is a great anthology for those looking for short stories and new authors. All the authors here were new to me and I found a few I would like to read more from. As I am new to these authors, I cannot say if they have written more with these characters or plan to in the future, but I would be willing to read more.
The stories are short, about an hour or so to read, but they are filled with passion, action, and of curse loyalty. Each story was so different then the others that you cannot place this collection into a specific mafia sub-genre. I liked all the stories but did have my favorites. Each story had wonderful characters, unique plots, and fun dialogue. I did feel like most of these stories were “starter stories” or teases for future series. There was a variety of endings: HEA, HFN, and even what could be considered mild cliffhangers. I enjoyed reading these stories overall. I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.
Taken to the Cleaner is a quick read that gives you just enough to pull you in and leave you begging for more. Stephanie Barclay is smart, tough and a mystery who is hiding a little secret. Dominic Scarlatti is dark, deadly, and dangerous and happens to be the cleaner for the mob. I’m definitely intrigued by this prequel and ready for Destroying Dominic!!
“Dominic Scarlatti was a man of few words, but when he said something, he meant it.”

This review is for Taken To The Cleaner by Ginger Ring. This is the prologue for the upcoming release of Destroying Dominic, where we meet Stephanie and Dominic. It’s a short story that gets you wanting more, it’s intriguing, mysterious and leaves you wanting so much more. Can’t wait to find out more in the next book. Each story in the Anthology is short but so enjoyable making you wanting so much more from each story.
Craving Loyalty is An Anthology. The short stories in this book are about love, loyalty and some are action packed. A few of the stories I found lacking, they were all over the place and seemed rushed while others were great. Each short is unique, some have HEA while some dont. All in all it was a good read. 3.5 stars
As with most anthologies, some of the stories in this collection I loved and some weren't for me. That said, a couple of entrants really shone, including "Chasing Danger," a fast-paced and twisty Irish Mob tale by Shana Vanterpool and Maria Tiraboschi's beautiful, intense "Olympia."
Although short, easy to read stories, not my most favorite style of reading material. Stories are about various crime families, love, heartache, betrayal and facility loyalties.
Well, you won't be after reading this anthology of mobsters and their never-ending craving for loyalty (see what I did there???). This collection of short stories are all some variation of mixing it up with members of organized crime, Italian stereotypes notwithstanding.
For the most part, these are interesting little stories. One or two actually had me wishing it was a prelude to a longer novel. However, the mob genre (is there such a thing???) really doesn't have a lot of variation to it: just pick your choice of bad guys, put some sorry scamp or helpless little lady in a position where they either need them or they are running from them and somewhere you hear..
That being said, if this is your thing, then you will enjoy this collection. And always remember...
