For new agile coaches, experienced ScrumMasters and interested development managers, the book contains a solid introduction to team coaching from an agile perspective. Starting from the basics of listening and observing, the book progresses to structured conversations with individuals and teams, discusses team development, synergy and team performance, and gives practical guidance on how to coach in structured ways and in challenging environments. Well aligned with the best approaches and principles for agile coaching and containing much of the on-boarding information for new agile42 coaches, we hope that this book will become a cornerstone for the agile coaching profession.
Very good book. I like that it is very short and to the point. It is a good summary of the main things an agile coach should do. On the other side, well it is kinda too short in my opinion. I would have appreciated if there were examples throughout the book. It felt a little theoretical to me. I liked the short case studies at the end of the book very much. If there would be more like this through out the book it might be a 4 or even 5 star book :-)
This book is the content for Agile42’s team coaching course. While a book can never be a substitute for possibly the best, most challenging course I’ve been on, this book will help scrum masters and other agile coaches take their skills to the next level.
Some interesting tid bits and useful models, frameworks and examples. One of those books it's good to keep around and dip into from time-to-time as-and-when needed.
This is a short compilation of basic theory and some practical tips for coaching Agile teams. The first part is a bit messy; it gets better when it moves away from individual coaching to team coaching. The advice, tools and techniques shared in the last chapters are valuable.
