Murder in the theater. So many characters who could have done it. You really have to figure out who is the one who did this. I really was intrigued with all the characters. The storyline was great I really enjoyed it. There is a few errors in the book but you can figure it out easy. I was giving this book as a free book by the Author for a honest review.
Could this rehearsal actually lead to murder? "Another book not to missed." ★★★★★

Review:
The characters are well rounded and three dimensional. Seeing as how this is the first book in the series that I have read, I did not have any trouble keeping up with the characters and story. I enjoyed getting to meet Heather and Amy, who are friends and private investigators. Heather also owns a donut shop. They have a great relationship and you can tell that they are good friends and will do anything for the other. I also got to meet Digby, who is an employee of Heather’s and learned that he has a part in a local play.
One of the things that I found refreshing in this book is that Heather and Amy are not constantly butting heads with law enforcement. Two reasons for this is that they are private investigators themselves and that Heathor is married to a detective.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. This book is dialogue driven and we are privy to many of the conversations between Heather and Amy. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there helping them solve the mystery, which was not easy to figure out. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. It was entertaining and I am glad that I read it.
Digby is finally getting to perform in the play he has been practicing for. Or does he?? A murder occurs at the theater and Digby is in the mix of it. Heather and Amy are on the case and this one is a puzzler. Suspects, yummy donuts and an interesting cast of actors make for a wonderful book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Heather Shepherd, owner of Donut Delights and certified private investigator is busy planning the adoption party of Miss Marshmallow, the dog that will become the official pet of Amy and Jamie. The new flavor donut for the human guest invited is the Mint Crisp donut. Heather has also created a donut for the pets attending the party. Heather receives a phone call from Digby who works at Donut Delights but also acts in the community theater. He tells her to come to the theater quickly then disconnects. Arriving at the theater, where the upcoming show’s dress rehearsal is taking place, Heather and Amy discover a dead body being rolled up in a rug by some of the cast members. What is going on here?? Why are they rolling the body up? Why was the man dead? Heart attack or something more sinister afoot? While Detectives Ryan and Peters investigate with the help of Heather and Amy, Digby moves into the leading man’s role. Plus Detective Peters is asked to take over Digby’s prior role. With a slew of suspects to question, the investigators are kept busy. The cast of characters are creative, vivid and well developed. The plot was puzzling, fast paced with a look at the backstage of theater. This is book # 25 in the Oceanside Cozy Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone. I volunteered to read Mint Crisp & Murder. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.
Another excellent episode in the Oceanside cozy mystery series. In this one, Digby calls Heather to report an issue at the theater. Once she gets there with Amy, they find the cast trying to move a dead body wrapped in a rug. Heather makes them stop and calls Ryan and Peters in to help. As they are trying to solve the murder, the show must go on however now it's short one cast member. Digby takes over the lead, leaving his part empty. The producer gets Peters to play the part.
In this one, the murderer was a bit of a surprise.
Another fun addition to this series. It’s always relaxing to curl up with old friends and solve mysteries.
Everyone is excited about the adoption party for Miss Marshmallow and opening night for Digby’s show. That is until Heather gets a panicked call from Digby. Heather and Amy rush to the theatre to find a dead actor and a room full of suspects. Can they solve the case so the show can go on?
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
Heather and Amy are called to the local community theater by one of the donut shop employees. All seems fine at first but they soon learn that there is a big secret behind the curtain. Join Heather & her friends as they try to figure out what happened.
I can't believe 25 books if you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that will keep you turning the page and waiting for the next book even after 25 then this one by Susan Gillard is a must read
This Book's plot Story Was refreshing from previous Books as the scene was in the theater. The characters written as I would have imagined theatre actors were like. I would like to see The chief of police Chet do more than just eat donuts.
