Candace began writing after the passing of her son in 2009. It has been an emotional release for her. She is supported by her family and friends. Other than the time she is writing, she sits back for hours reading books by her favorite authors, Tijan Meyer, Rachel Vincent, Richelle Mead, Colleen Hoover, Claudia Gray and so many more. That or she will go for a calming drive while listening to Eminem, Slim Shady, Marshal Mathers or The Rap God, whichever you would like to call him. Her kids are just like her, sarcastic, but fun loving. The rules she lives by 1 Don't take life too seriously 2 Don't live up to others ridiculous expectations 3 Surround yourself with people who love you for you 4 If life becomes too much, have a stiff drink and start again tomorrow.

I was not sure what I was getting into with this story.
When Abby finds out who her father is, she confronts him, only to be comforted by a handsome stranger, who she dares to kiss.
Chad finds out who Abby is, yet he can not stay away. The one person who he has trusted all his life, his mother accepts Abby into her home, but when she finds out what they are up to. Will she be as accepting?
This books pushes boundaries, but you can not put it down. Candace Dowds makes it impossible to do anything other then read.

Hot Taboo read

I have mixed feelings about Torn as it deals with a socially taboo subject but not an illegal one in many countries including many states here in the United States. Why my ambivalence ... Well, it Is the underlying tone of disapproval and misgivings the author uses while telling the story.

Here we have a fast and furious instant lust and love story between two half siblings that didn't know each other until they met at 19 and 22 years old.
The story reads like an over the top, hot fantasy forbidden romance with drama galore but at the same time it's hinting to something deeper and darker.
The brisk pace , plot twists and the two POV gives you the sense of urgency that something is about to happen at every turn.

I liked/disliked this book as I said , I have conflicted emotions. It was suggested to me by my best book buddy as she knows I enjoy reading taboo tales ; now looking forward reading the follow up novella called Divided.

Insta/love?

So in the very start I disliked the portrayal of the heroine's single mother, her bashing the "father" isn't the way to go and even if she indeed hold resentment towards the man you don't say that to your child. As the book continues it has a soap opera for teens mentality of at least that was the feeling I experienced while trying to understand the reactions of the characters with its villain giving them a silly ultimatum, as the plot develops with its over use of the same insults, which get exhausting and it's exaggeration of the reactions they have over everything there was still some potential with that said there's also a cliffhanger in the end.

I will recommend reading this only if you have an open mind with taboo subjects. I wasn't sure what to expect with this story but have loved other reads by Candace Dowds and I wasn't disappointed.
While growing up there was only Abby and her mum so when she finally finds out who her father is she goes to find him. It didn't go as she had hoped..... her in tears. She is surprised by the stranger who enters his office not only because he's handsome and wanting to comfort her but the pull she feels towards him and instantly wants to kiss him. Chad the handsome stranger finds out who Abby is but he can't stay away. He goes to the one person who he trusts his mom and has to tell her the truth...……… can she accept Abby and that they want to be together ????????
This book certainly pushes the boundaries but you won't want to put it down, I didn't. Candace Dowds writing makes it an amazing read that will have you questioning your own morals and thoughts well after you finish..
