With the help of The Expert, The Tech, The Old Friend, and The Oracle they defended island home from betrayers, zombie hordes, and villainous dictators. Oh, they survived a plane crash rescuing Mo’s brother. Being The Hero is hard work. Now they are on a quest to find a cure. What new adventures will they encounter? What new dangers will they find? Will they find new friends? New foes? Will Smokes find more Newport’s? Follow Mo and his crew on their continuing adventures as they tempt fate and chart their way down the river. In waters where the fish bite, the Zombies bite… And sometimes life bites. Welcome on board, friend, to Zombie River Run!

Whoa! We are learning more and more about these Blunatics. They are getting grosser and shoot so are the people, not our Good Guys of course. I don’t think I can ever say I’ve heard it all when it comes to Zombies, because Javan keeps throwing curve balls at me. I really enjoy the Cast of Characters at the end of the books, really keeps with the whole “movie” theme. And this one had an even nicer surprise at the end. Guess you will have to read it to find out what it was. Salzman, your voices gosh, such an array and so on point!

Javan has continued to make me laugh and care about the characters in his world. This series is amazing. Very funny and original. Love having Smokes & Mo on another adventure. It’s also cool to see there are other oracles. Blue bodied yellow eyed pooping & fornicating zombies who are evolving....bet you haven’t read that plot line before!
Salzman is one of the best narrators working today! Can’t imagine anyone else doing this series.

THERE'S NO STOPPING THIS AUTHOR, AS HE JUST ROCKS!!!! I'M SO SO VERY READY FOR BOOK #6

WOW, another great book from Javan Bonds, as there is no stopping this Author. Book #5 starts out amazing, as I also loved the poem by Seanan McGuire. It was seriously the perfect place to put that poem, into the opening of this book. With "Mo, Smokes, my girl Hammer" and others away trying to get to the one place they believe a cure could be, they have no idea, about the blue death that follows them, especially "Mo's brother Easy". Then we have "Randy" Mo's father, back in Guntersville, trying to taken care of everyone that showed up since May Day, the day the Blues took over. But all is not well, as someone or something has started taking the children. Javan has done another awesome job with this book and series and I'm so very glad this isn't the end. I can't wait to see what else this Author has in store for us. Bring on Book #6, Mr. Bonds.

Zombie River Run: Still Alive Book Five
By Javan Bonds
March 20th 2018

Mo Collins, Easy Collins (Mo’s brother), Hammer, Gene, Medicine Man(Dr. Phillip George), Mr. Clean, Sarah and crew are on a quest to find the cure.
The Peevies are evolving, this adds to the fear factor and danger facing the survivors. They also noticed a few pregnant Peevies.A shudder inducing thought.

Randy Collins (Mo’s & Easy’s dad in Guntersville)He keeps in contact with his boys. Others of Randy’s group are scouting for goods, ammo and survivors.
Back on the island children are disappearing without a trace, the Preacher Micheal Brown is quick to point fingers. Others remember hearing some stories about the Preacher himself, from before. Time is of the essence to find out what is going on and are the kids alive. “The Hits”, Sako, Hirotoro, Rorschach, and Toro were looking for clues as to where the kids are, and who took them.

This series has become one of my favorites, especially in audiobook form. Mr. Javan Bonds has created a LOL funny group of characters that will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Mo Collins, the main protagonist, is on his way to find a possible cure for the zombie invasion that has overrun the world. His motley crew aboard the replica pirate ship, the Viva Ancora, includes all of the main characters I have come to love. My favorite character, Smokes, doesn't figure into this book as much as in some of the previous ones, but his presence is still felt in a huge way.

On the way to find the cure, Mo and his crew have to stop at the numerous locks and dams along the rivers in order to navigate. Mo's new sister-in-law is the only person who can handle the technology and Mo seems to be destined to be one of her bodyguards at each lock. Of course, with Mo along, there are plenty of peevie encounters at each stop.

Mo's brother, Easy, insists that they make a detour to Tuscaloosa to pick up the Alabama football teams' National Championship trophy. We all know that this is super important in a world being overrun by blue infected people trying to eat everyone who isn't blue, right?

Mr. Bonds continues to throw in plenty of references to sci-fi, comic books, and other geeky things, which is one of the things that makes this series unique and enjoyable. He also describes each and every battle scene and individual death in a unique way and these scenes are never boring. You never know what gruesome detail you will hear next.

I have been waiting for the appearance of pirates in this series and this time around, I finally got my wish! The encounter between our beloved protagonists and a horde of pirates was a highlight of this book.

S.W. Salzman has become the voice of this series and even when I am reading a physical book set in this series, his voices for each of the characters is what I hear in my head. I can't imagine these books without his narration! It makes a great series even better, if that's possible!

If you are easily offended by gore, blood, brutal descriptions of body parts, political incorrectness or the f-bomb, don't read this series. But, if you are looking for something different in the growing zombie genre, give it a try. Just be prepared to be laughing or sometimes cringing throughout the book!

I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author and narrator and chose to review it.

This series covers everything and so much more beware you must act and thing as a real southern redneck or as the legends describe rednecks.
I am writing this and waiting in book 7 to be released it adventures of MO and his band of humans after a virus is released and turn people into zombies not your normal zombies but they are blue, constantly hungry and erect cock. Now as the story goes on you find these zombies are changing and growing, they getting faster, groups are nesting with a queen who does nothing but get bred and have more zombies. Now for the remnants of human they are not doing to well they keep killing each other by accident or as food source. Killing for food is a minster who came to town and started killing the children of the members of his flock and they are stupid enough not question him when he feeds them and they do not know they are eating their own children they have taken the minster at his word and blind faith.
There is so many plots, storylines and adventures you need to either read or listen to them so remember your are A Southern Redneck no education or brains trying to survive the blue zombies who wants to eat you.

Javan Bonds's colorful and diverse characters, and laugh-out-loud scenes, and "no, he didn't just say that' dialogue has kept me totally entertained. Mo and a carefully chosen crew are traversing the river on the Viva Ancora, the pirate ship, on a mission to find a cure. Easy has a calling of his own, reclaiming Alabama's football team's National Championship trophy, managing to convince the very reluctant Mo to make make a detour to Tuscaloosa. With nasty cannibalistic nudists blue zombie infestation, and insane humans roaming about, what possibly can go wrong? Zombie River Run is a hilarious, fast-paced, zombie-killing gory adventure with loads of sci-fi cultural reference for us nerds to revel over.

A stellar performance by S.W. Salzman, particularly with contrasting accents for all the various characters. He brought each one to life. I'd listen to more of his work. I highly recommend Still Alive Series; it's cleverly-written, witty, and highly entertaining with quality narration.

this is a mildly humorous take on the zombie apocalypse.

This is a mildly humorous taken the zombie apocalypse. A great cast of characters and a unique storyline. Moe and his friends are surviving in the zombie apocalypse. Well it has all the usual action blood gore at Cetera. It takes a bit more humorous point of you at it. Mowing is true for basically living life like they are in a screenplay and there is a script writer who dictates the characters and what is going on every day. It is a unique take on a story but wildly entertaining. It is serious in the fact that it is a zombie apocalypse but it has a humorous twist of the zombies are blue and continuously spew black diarrhea Everywhere they go. The zombie still will bite infect and kill you. No it is game or trying to survive and treat a safe place for others to survive. They go out on adventures in search of answers supplies etc. There’s still the dark twists and turns and evil humans But you get a chuckle every so often. Check this series out it’s extraordinarily entertaining.

They're still alive

This series just keeps getting better and better. Mo and the other main protagonists have taken the Viva Ancora toward the ocean to try to rescue a doctor who might have a "cure". While they're gone someone is taking the island's children, who and why is the question. The peevees are evolving again and now they're becoming even more dangerous. Benji and Devin are using their piloting abilities to search the area for more survivors while destroying as many peevees as possible. The ending is in a place that will have you cussing at the author and impatiently waiting for the next book in this amazing series!!

It's not a race down the river when you have to cross the damn dams!

Another slug fest through stinking mounds of peevie poop. Mo and his crew head down the river to find the doctor who supposedly has a cure for the blue plague. Every lock and dam holds the threat of undead blue cannibals. Meanwhile, back on the island, children are going missing and the new preacher is blaming Mo and Easy's father. We know the truth, but can't force the faithful to believe his lies. The characters all have their roles to play and they play them well! The storyline is amazing with twists and turns, amusement and terror, blood curdling battles and amusing interactions. This is a great read!

Best of the lot !!!!

I read a ton of Zombie related fiction, Javan Bonds is simply the best. He has an easy conversational style, conjures horrifying images and weaves a compelling story. You can easily conjure visions of the various characters and feel invested in their life and progression. He’s the best new author in a growing field. Tufo watch your back a new king is coming !!!!

Again Javan has spinned another tale that is hilarious, serious, and well…a little bit graphic. Mo makes Zombies fun no matter the situation. There are always new surprises, new characters, and returning protagonists. Sail away for a new adventure. Mo can offend anyone, but take it with a grain of salt. The Peevies are a changin’ and so does the script. If you like a little humor with your horror, pick up this series. To make it even funnier, listen to it from S.W. Salzman.

I enjoyed more then the other book. The story It’s better with each book. There action, comedy, a zombies story with a different twist.
This audiobook has corse language and some violence. Something which I expect in a zombie book.
Again the narrator has done a great job and giving each character the individual voices, making them come alive.

These audiobooks was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher free of charge for a honest, unbiased review.

Another 5 stars

As with the other books in this series Javan Bonds has created a winner. The main characters have to defend against both peevees and humans as they try to reach a supposed cure. Meanwhile back on the island true evil has invaded their sanctuary. An exciting tale and I can't wait for the next installment.

Another great book

I just love this series. Javan has continued Mo’s journey to retrieve the cure ( and the football trophy) with his band of brothers (along with his sister in law and girlfriend) will have you laughing out loud one minute then reeling from the horror of death in the next minute.
What a unique take on the zompoc! You have to give it a go!!

Keeps me intrigued!

Unlike most series this one is the 1 is the most excellent in the fact that it reads fast, full of action... There is not a Dull moment.... there's not a place in the book In the whole series where I am trying trying to urge it along.... It reads really fast! If there's anybody that is into zombie themed books, this one is a for sure must read!

Another creative and imaginative story by the author Javan Bonds. It begins where book 4 of the “Still Alive” series ends. The roller coaster ride of horror and suspense, never knowing what direction it will take, and the unexpected moments of laughter, make this another Must Read book.

Well worth reading

Really good series with splashes of dry humour and plenty or gore. Strong characters who in places will have you belly laughing and in other parts your heart hammering. Once I had read the first book I couldn't stop.

ZomCom at its finest

Sometimes zombie comedy is just what we need to lighten the mood. Blue skinned, naked zombies must be quite the sight. Following Mo and his merry band of misfits on their journey has been quite the hysterical ride. Laugh out loud funny.
