Private investigator Brodie MacBride leaves his comfortable office in Glasgow to go on the hunt. John Lyons - his ex-business partner and the man who almost killed him - has been spotted in the Lake District and Brodie is determined to get the revenge he's dreamed of for years.

Brodie's second-in-command and long-term secret crush, Cass Carlisle, accompanies him in the search. However John Lyons proves to be more resourceful than Brodie had assumed he would be after spending years on the run not only from Brodie himself but from the Glasgow police and the infamous McVay clan. After fending off repeated abduction attempts and attacks not only from Lyons himself but other underworld figures, Brodie fears he's made a massive error of judgement, especially when his beloved Cass is put in danger.

However this only makes Brodie even more determined to get his pound of flesh from the one person in the world to ever get the better of him.

My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.

When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.

absolutely amazing read!

Simply love Brodie & all his team as their characters are brilliant, witty, dark & sometimes silly but never ever boring!
Brodie is a man to be reckoned with and woe betide anyone getting on wrong side of him. This book picks up where last one left off and his ever growing desire to hunt Lyons down. With Cass by side he is complete, his number 2 but his soulmate too. Brodies one liners crack me right up and his best too detective pal Pete has a few of his own.
Between them they chase down Lyons, who gives them a good run for their money but not too many spoilers from me but it’ll be interesting to see how the whole Creegan/ Thorne thing pans out! Heather has written some cracking books & I thoroughly recommend. Can’t wait to see what’s going on in book5!
I loved the fact that the Laws & McGuires make a cameo in this!
Roll on book 5!

Brodie and cass are back and still working on finding John Lyons, brodie hires a lovely cottage with rose round the door because cass loves them. They have no idea if Lyons still here and no clue as to where he is living.Brodie's best friend Pete turns up because he wants to see Lyons gone as he found brodie clinging to life after Lyons had knifed him.Pleased that they have extra help they search and things start to happen and the local police get involved,Brodie,Pete and Cass clash with woman in charge. She is not what she seems but pete falls for her only to wish he hadn't.If you want to know what happens read the book i can recomend it and well worth 5*

She just always leaves you wanting more!!!

I've just finished pound of flesh, took me longer than usual as I've I had such a hectic week. Loved it! Brodie, Cass, Pete and the 2 fannies are my favourite characters ever! I loved the dialect and the humour amongst the dark tale of revenge and retribution. I was absolutely rooting for cass and Brodie and the ending as usual just left me wanting more! The ending indicated that there may be another one (I sincerely hope so!!!!) and I can't wait! Heather you talent is phenomenal! Please keep them coming! X
