Take extended notes alongside passages of Scripture, with lined blank pages interspersed throughout complete books of the Bible. “An excellent set for notes, thoughts, prayers, and even just reading.” ―Randy A. Brown, Bible Buying Guide ESV Scripture Journals pair the entirety of individual books of the Bible with lightly lined blank pages opposite each page of Bible text, allowing readers to take extended notes or record insights and prayers directly beside corresponding passages of Scripture. These thin, portable notebooks are great for personal Bible reading and reflection, small-group study, or taking notes through a sermon series.

I’ve been working on reading through the Bible in a year and today I finished 1-2 Peter and Jude. 1 Peter is a letter written by Peter to non-Jewish Christians to encourage them as they have been enduring suffering. Peter describes the Gentiles as a people called by God. Peter describes how enduring pain makes our faith more genuine. Peter encourages these people as to who they are as a part of the new Kingdom and family God has made. He expresses how it is their responsibility to love as Jesus did no matter how they are treated. Overall this book points to a Hope in the midst of Suffering, a fantastic book to look to when discouraged in faith. 2 Peter is a letter written by Peter to the same group of people in Asia Minor as the previous book. Peter recognizes he is going to die soon. Peter’s purpose in this work is to counter the false teachings of people that are in opposition of him and the other apostles. Peter encourages the people to examine their everyday lives and to recognize they will have to be held accountable for their lives. The book of Jude was written by Jude the brother of Jesus. Jude confronts the corrupt leaders based on their lifestyles and how they have distorted the grace of God. This short letter is powerful and links itself to other extra-Biblical texts. This all conveys the main messages that God’s Grace demands a whole-hearted life response. The focus is obeying Jesus! All together, it’s a great book that recalls ancient Jewish writings. Great book!
