I think this one is my favorite so far, even if it broke me. I loved all the Sir Roger and Peter scenes, how dare the author kill Peter in the end! Sir Roger better get another orphan to raise, I swear.

Also, man, fuck the Earl, what a dick. Edwin and Sir Roger should team up and leave his ungrateful ass. Take Martin, Adam, and Hugh with them. The Earl doesn't deserve the loyalty they all show him.

Beautifully written, true to the life at that time (as far as I can tell and the author IS a historian), and satisfying, though quite sad in places.
