First 3 books in the Jesse Black series. Jesse is an assistant DA in Philly.
Burnout - Jesse is up against a serial killer and his hot shot lawyer. Once a firefighter always a firefighter
Informant - The only courtroom Jesse sees in this book has no judge or jury but a Sheriff gone rogue. Money and fame makes bad bedfellows.
Deadly Evidence - School shooter of 17 is now dead. So … who is Jesse going to prosecute now? Manpower and True_Man will fill that bill.

Jessie Black series begins lustfully!
Each of the three books starring Jessie Black are so suspenseful and captivating that only mystery lovers will fully appreciate. A one night celebration creates a problem for leading lady Jessica Black when she is photographed with a Detective Leary in a car. Neither she nor the Detective can live it down so that it is part of the ongoing series. Jessica is a single career woman whose job as assistant DA takes up her life totally. Her case work is immense so that she remains a brilliant and beautiful woman who has no social life at all. She is totally committed to trying criminals and putting them away for good.
Each case is unique and well developed by the author. His knowledge of PA law is incredible. He makes it easy for the reader to learn legalese with ease. The crimes are imaginative and the villains are both despicable and ugly so that hopefully, justice will be served. Larry Winter is an excellent writer.
Hopefully, real life crime is not so demanding or exciting as this fiction. The villain in the third book is especially disgraceful. I did find it more implausible than the first two books!
I like the main characters enough to want to read more of his work. Recommend it for mystery lovers!

Frustrating! How did Ramsey, who was a firefighter with no criminal history even so much as A parking ticket even have a photo to put into the original array? And how did he even end up in the lineup for Kristen to identify? Was he walking down the street one day and the powers that be decided that he’d be a good candidate to put in an array and then a lineup? I mean, how does that happen? Just too many holes in the story to make it believable.I
As for book 2, since when do sheriffs in courthouses not wear bulletproof vests? I’m almost finished book 2 now, and the only reason I’m going to finish it is because I’m almost at the end anyway as for going on to book 3 forget it . This scenarios are just at times implausible and I really wish the author would’ve done a little bit more research and made things a little more realistic than he has. And can anyone explain how you back a tow truck up to the front of a building and managed to remove huge huge obstacles on the landings of stairwells six and seven floors up? How how does this even happen?
As for Leary… For the love of all, that’s good man, grow up and move on. Chasing her around like a wounded puppy dog and it’s not attractive at all. Jessie has clearly told you on several occasions she can handle herself, which it seems she can. Leave her alone and move on. She’s way out of your league, dude.

What a DYNAMIC read the three books in Jessie Black Legal Thrillers Boxed Set 1-3 by Larry A. Winters was/IS! I loved being able to read three novels about character Jessie Black, Asst. D.A., who is a wonderfully developed character in this boxed set, written by a very very great Author, Larry A. Winters. Non stop thrilling read rides. On the edge of your seat reading with pages insisting to be turned to find out what the story is going to do, and where it is going to take you. Mystery and intrigue abounds. Nothing stops Jessie Black!! Plots and action are written so very well, gets the readers attention immediately from beginning to end of each box. Accomplished Larry A. Winters deserves TEN STARS, but the five stars offered will have to do. Stories are cunningly laid out to assure the reader is thrilled and satiated!! I cannot stress how highly I recommend Jessie Black Legal Thrillers Boxed Set 1-3!!! Kudos to Author Larry A. Winters for this set that I LOVED reading!! Grab this set and ENJOY!!!!

THIS Is The Best Jessie Black Book To Date!
I'm reviewing this book as a standalone for the third of the series of three. The previous two books were reviwed separately. Jessie Black, a crack Assistant District Attorney, is about to head out on a vacation with her love interest, Leary. But a multiple death shooting at a private school in Philadelphia keeps Jessie off-kilter. The notion that the young shooter, although being the sole perpetrator, who might actually have been coached and cajoled into his heinous act, puts an entirely new twist into play. Jessie nearly gets herself killed more than once during the investigation. But she perseveres, and justice is done.
This book seemed to fly by and I could not stop reading! The writing was spellbinding and demanded my full attention.

My view of this book is certainly different from others but I would give this a big MEH. I read the first book only and have no interest in finishing the series.
First of all, there were far too many characters for me. I often wonder if writers get paid more for more proper names. Cops attorneys, jail personnel, what role did many of them play?
I also am tired of books where the female main character is judged and vilified for behaviors that are readily accepted in male characters. Men rule, evidently.
But I found the ending to be a total failure. I cannot accept that a 350+ page book is totally turned upside down in the last four pages.

Hated to put my Kindle down until I was finished these 3 books. They kept me on edge all the way wondering what horrific thing Jessie was going to go through next. Would this be the time the shooter would get her, or was the killer hiding around the corner waiting for her. She is so determined to find out the truth even if it means that it puts herself in bad situations. Can't wait for the next book.

Legal thrillers...interesting
All 3 books were interesting. I'm sure if a district attorney reads these books, they'd say "nothing like this ever happens to me". But having a brilliant, young, attractive district attorney becoming a hero, makes for a good story. The last book, a forum for men who were disgruntled about women was a scary possibility of something that could exist.

This is an excellent series. I received a copy of Burnout from the author and just had to keep reading more. A bit of humor and romance, but mostly just legal cases with police investigators. Just when you think you know the villain, you don't! And now, on to box set 2.
