I really liked how it showed that police work has a dull, monotonous side of it. The hero and heroine both keep on chipping away at it and eventually solve the mystery and catch the bad guy. But it takes a lot of work and doggedness.

And enjoyable read. A police procedural treating events in a low-key manner and omitting gory details. Likeable main characters and a satisfying outcome.
