Jamie and Aidan are finally tying the knot, and this was sweet sentimental, catching the reader up on Mel and Danny, as well as setting stage for Cameron and Nic in their spin-off!!
This was a little author freebie to round out the end of the Agents Irish and Whiskey series and though I was definitely missing something by not having read book four, I knew enough to muddle through. And it's mostly just wedding day sweetness anyway.
I wasn't a huge fan of the first three books (my ratings and feelings were all over the map) but being that it's St Patrick's Day and I could pick up and finish this before bed, I decided to read it anyway. And I'm glad I did. This showcased the best of the main characters I wanted to love from the series, teased the next couple for a spinoff that I'm now tempted to read, and yeah it's fluff but it was good fluff.
Wonderful short that includes Aiden and Jamie's wedding and the start of Nic and Cam (I'm so excited for them! Can't wait for their books!) and has some Danny and Mel (although I didn't read their book). Nice little short to get caught up with these guys and set up the next book (or books ;)) about Nic and Cam. Can't wait! :)
Most excellent visit with the agents at Irish & Whiskey's wedding, plus some amazing artwork of each of the main characters, this short is a real gem and free when you sign up to Layla's newsletter :)
2.5 I'll readily admit that I didn't actually read this for Jamie and Aidan's wedding - their series having been extremely frustrating for me. But I've been assured that Nic and Cam's series is less needlessly convoluted, I needed to get this out of the way since the author decided to have their first kiss happen here - a very blatant ploy to get people who were only interested in one of the series to read the other.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I think it was well thought out, having 6 chapters with POVs from all the key players in this universe, and well executed in that we got to check in with all of them and relive the best of each relationship.
That being said, this only reminded me how much I still haven't really forgiven Aindan (I needed so much more groveling) but I guess the important thing is that Jamie did. But it put me back in the headspace I was when I read this series, where my overwhelming feeling was frustration at the needless drama that missed the mark for oblivious/pining angst and went directly into pleasegodletthisbeover territory.
I know that's a very longwinded way to say that while I didn't like this series all that much, this was actually a pretty sweet epilogue.
Absolutely LOVED this!! Available for free to Layla Reyne's newletter subscribers, we're cordially invited to the wedding of our two favorite FBI agents.
Told from multiple POVs, we get to touch base with all the characters we've fallen in love with over the course of this series and we get a fantastic set up for Nic and Cam's spinoff series....but most importantly, we get to witness Jamie and Aidan begin the next chapter of their happily ever after.
This little morsel had me smiling from ear to ear. I absolutely ADORE this couple and can't wait to see what's in store for everyone in the books to come.
Blended Whiskey gives Aidan and Jamie the happily ever after they deserve. I wish the story was mainly from their POV, but the little glimpses from other characters are pretty nice. This also obviously sets up a new series focusing on Cam and Nic and I have to admit I'm pretty curious about them as a couple. Lovely ending to a great series!
Now this story, this one I needed and really, really appreciated!
Yes!
I don't know what exactly I expected but this surpassed my expectations. I loved, loved, loved getting the perspective from six different people. I think it was six, don't quote me of course. But yeah, how cool was that little bit of different type storytelling? It was super cool.
Man, it made me even more anxious to dig into Nic and Cam's book!
Meh....To be fair I was really over this series by the last book. I didn't really care about this one but my book ocd couldn't let me not finish a series.
The story is broke into chapters by different characters which was fine. We don't see the actual wedding on page though. Wth? Shouldn't a book about their wedding actually show the wedding???
If this where an episode of Friends, it would be called, "The one where nothing is blown up and no one almost dies."
I love that we got POV's from Jamie, Aidan, Danny and Mel but fucking adored that we were given Cam and Nic as well.
While this was about Jamie and Aidan's wedding which was so them from their presents to each other, the vows, to the rings to where they'd spend their honeymoon, this was also a fantastic set up for Trouble Brewing which is set to be Cam and Nic's story.
What is it about elevators? Why do they become so damn sexy and important when two people are alone in them? Just asking?
I loved this. I love that Aidan was able to find love twice in his lucky Irish life and that Jamie was steadfast in his love for Aidan and never giving up. These two are one of my favorite couples and I can't wait to see them again supporting the hell of out Dominic and Boston.
And that title, you don't need me to dissect it this time around. It's simple, I mean Jameson Irish Whiskey is a real life Blended Whiskey which should be Jamie's new married name. *winks*
I'm not an uninvolved party, since I proofed this short. Plus, it's not secret that I adore Agents Irish and Whiskey, especially my cinnamon roll Jamie. So yes, I loved this little short.
It's a nice wrap up to Aidan and Jamie's story and a nice teaser for Cam and Nic.
