I just couldn’t make myself finish this book! The character were so blah ! The story concept was great , I mean who doesn’t love time travel, men in kilts, witches and magic . But that’s the only thing good about this book, the concept. The author went to far into detail on small stuff and skimmed over the stuff that should be prudent to the story , thus making it sooooo boring . The story seem to drag on and on !

I couldn’t even finish this. I forced myself to read the first 130 pages, realized it was still awful and I had more than half of the book to go. I am an avid reader, and this is only the second book in my life I’ve left unfinished.

The hero/heroine - I wasn’t made to believe they even knew or spent enough time together to fall in love.

The plot - maybe it gets sorted out and explained, but nothing seemed to make sense. There seemed to be more than merely time travel going on, different dimensions and what not. I just couldn’t care about it enough to continue on and possibly get an explanation. As this book 1 of a series, I wasn’t even sure I’d get resolution in this book.

On the other hand, what I did read there were no errors or typos.

This book was so awful, I couldn't continue reading it. Loads of characters right from the start and very strong Scottish brogue. Characters were NOT endearing at all none of them. It had a nice cover and that's all!

This was a hard read. I liked the concept time travel, hilanders, woman from the future is a cop but this was a little out there for me plus technical errors and it didn’t really flow. Don’t recommend.

Ghost Clan (Phoenix Throne Book 1)

Hazel put her Tarot cards out and started a seance. Carmen blinked into darkness. Hazel tried to take herself and her friends to Camelot. Carmen woke and found Angus and some of his clan. She was in medieval Scotland. Angus was looking for a witch to stop a curse. A wizard told them that Carmen would be the one to get to the witch. They fought ghosts and sea slugs but got into a castle. Angus had to find a thistle which was Carmen. Then he had to pay tribute to lift the curse. A fire ball burnt Angus and he fell to ashes. He then got up as a dragon and then back to a man.people crowded and knelt at his feet. Angus was now King. Carmen became his Queen. No more curse.

Fantasy

The story was interesting but too much repeated angst and questioning of self for the main characters. Too much no information but blindly falling into just understanding what needs to be done, how do you go on a quest having no clue you are on a quest, no clue what the quest is, no clue of the rules or goals? But luckily just fall into the correct direction. Why does the hero need to lose almost all his warriors? Why does the sex need to be so detailed and gross? What does it add to the story? Even at the end, no one knows what's going on, people just start asking questions - do you want a bath? What I'm in shock but sure ill have a bath and change into a gown, even though I don't wear dresses, because I know this is where I'm meant to be.

Interesting story, but so many errors it drove me a bit nuts.

Supposed to be occurring in medieval times, but the man from that era should not refer to it using our current terms. Sabers are a cavalry weapon from Europe not introduced to Scotland til the 1700's well after this stories time. Those are just the two most irritating errors, she also has the men in modern kilts, not the great kilt which would be period correct. Take away the glaring historical errors and it's not too bad a tale.

Great story

This is the first story and I can't wait to see if there will be more. Hopefully the author will create another story just as good. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters that were in this one. The only thing that really thru me was the death of one of the guys, I actually cried in that part!

The most unusual book I’ve read in a long time

A really unique look. A lot of things happened that I did not want to happen. Deaths that I did not want to think about. But of course it’s a romance. A very unique Romance. I’m enough to make me want to read the next in the series. Join me for another adventure

Ghost Clan

Love ghost, mystery, action and love? This book has it all. It kept me up late a few nights. It was hard to put down. Five friends get together t dabble in magic. They thought the spell didn't work but....find out what happens by reading it. I give it 5 stars. It is one of the best stories I have read in a while.

Overly long & difficult to stay with

This story didn’t provide much background. The beginning was ok but the fantastical was a bit much. It droned in in the middle & was somewhat hard to follow. The ending was drug out then within a page or 2 was over without closure. There was more fantasy than romance & I would not recommend.

Juvenile

This book is not as well written as other books I've read.
I'm many fictional books the writer can make the characters believable. Not so in this book.
I don't recommend it to anyone.

Couldn't even get half way through this book.

Totally unbelievable, even for a time travel romance. Writing and plot was rushed, with no chemistry. I can't believe that this is a series.

Two of my favorite sub-genres are combined here, Highlander's and time travel. Angus and Carmen's story is wrought with peril, adventure, loss and love. The intensity of the writing had me on the edge of my seat. Going to love this series.

More like 3.5

I liked the start and the unknown elements in the beginning. Then it just felt like the author made up a reason and the story halfway through. It didn't make sense and didn't flow. I won't continue the story.

Scotland Rogues

I enjoyed it. Was a little slow paced here and there it it eventually picked up. Enjoyed all the characters in the box. What a long journey they had to descend to the throne. Thanks to one American Carmen. Angus finally got his crown and his queen.

Good Start

When Carmen is transported back in time to a magical land, she meets Angus. Together they must fight alongside his brothers to regain the Phoenix Throne. This first start in this series shows promise with the intrigue and adventure. The love connection between Carmen and Angus is a nice addition to the tale.

I couldn't deal with it, the characters thoughts and descriptions were so overly done and the way they talked sounded more like pirates than highlander, it was just too much and too boring.

I like time-travel but this was a little too out there. The intimate scenes seemed disconnected or like a 3rd person observing (ugh)& sometimes too much detail. Would not recommend.
