K.C. was the girl of the summer in her youth group. She had a lake for her backyard, friends who loved to hang out, and a boyfriend who honestly loved her. But she wasn't happy. Deep inside she longed for something more. Her relationship with her Savior seemed empty and she did everything in her power to gain His favor, but to no avail. There never was any sort of confirmation. Will K.C. ever find the piece that's missing in her heart? Or will she drain herself of meaning and forever wallow in this lake we call despair?

A very incredible story! I was in shock the first time I read it. I have felt like the main character more times than one, and it was very encouraging for me - and I'm sure it will be for so many other Christian teens.
Having been raised in a Christian home, it's so easy to loose sight of what's important - or just not really have a good grasp on what's important at all! This short story is hugely inspirational. It's hard to believe so much could be packed into such a little tale!
I'm not usually one for Christian fiction because I find them so unrealistic and cliche, but the realness in this book was refreshing. I love reading about Christians struggling with their faith, because I feel like it's a side of us that we so often try to hide.
It's encouraging to read stories about real struggles and getting over said struggles in an realistic way, and The Missing Piece was one of those stories.
My only complaint was that it was very fast-paced being so short, I didn't really get to know K.C. as much as I would've liked.
Overall this was sweet and very encouraging, I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Wow! Such a powerful read! I knew when I saw that cover and read the synopsis I'd love this short story! It was well worth the read!
I completely understood K.C.'s struggle. The answer she received has encouraged me that devotions and talking with the Lord is so important!!
I really recommend this short book ... it's only six pages, so you could read it in only a short time! :) I absolutely loved the author's note at the end!

In The Missing Piece, our main character K.C. has everything she could ever want—plenty enough to complete her life—yet she feels that something is lacking. She doesn't know true happiness.
I loved reading about her journey toward finding the missing piece of her life. I also appreciated the subtle message near the end of the short story—that just because God didn't give you an immediate 'yes', that doesn't mean the answer is 'no.' Sometimes it's 'not yet',
A well-rounded story about finding our completion in Christ alone. <3

I could totally relate to this story. At first, I was wondering how the author could conclude her message in such a short amount of pages, but it was done so well! The more we follow God's Word, the happier we will be. More joy and contentment :)
I was surprised how young K.C. was in her relationship, but that was my only qualm (if that could be called that :D) about the story. I loved that they went about the relationship the right way!!
The story ends perfectly, leading the reader to see the hope K.C. has found. Need a quick, encouraging read...grab this one up!! :)

This little story had a great message! It's so good to be reminded that other Christians sometimes struggle with trying to hear God and know His will, and that it's not always an issue of never having really known Him in the first place. Even good Christians can get off track when we take our eyes off the Lord and put them on our own or others' experience, and it's so tempting to fall into the trap of trying to do more in order to earn His favor.
Very relatable, true, and encouraging. Thanks to Libby May for the great reminder!
