Just Such A Time: Reconnecting with your God-given purpose when life gets in the way

Rate this book
“I love this book. I love Lindsay’s honesty, her humour, her hope, her questions and her struggles. I found myself on many of the pages and I know you will too. If you’ve lost your sense of place and purpose, this little light in your hands points home and will remind you that God has never left you for a moment.”
Sheila Walsh, best-selling author, speaker and TBN host
“Lindsay illustrates, through her own experiences, how God can use us, and has a purpose for us, just where we are, whatever we are going through, and however difficult our circumstances.”
Fiona Castle, author, president of Activate Your Life
“With courageous honesty, classic storytelling and clear theology Lindsay shares the barriers, the bruises and the breakthroughs on the road to finding and fulfilling God’s purpose for her life.”
Tim Robertson, Compassion UK
Plans. Good plans. Of this, the Bible tells us, we can be sure. But what if the things we imagined are thwarted by sickness, bereavement or even a pandemic? What then? When serious health issues forced Lindsay out of work and ministry, she found herself questioning what she believed about purpose amidst pain. She was convinced the “polished” Lindsay was the one God would use. Then, like the Psalm says, He made her lie down.
A revelation came one day while reading Esther’s story. Rather than seeing a girl at her destiny’s end, she saw a girl, in the place God had positioned her, obediently speaking the words needed to bring freedom. If Esther was born for “just such a time”, then maybe we are too? What if today, equipped by the Holy Spirit, we can leave behind thoughts of missing out on 'one such a time', and instead embrace a 'just such a time', right here, right now.
In this updated version of Lindsay's book, including two new chapters written post-Covid and after a cancer diagnosis, she sets out again to inspire, to challenge and to mobilise us all for mission.
Believe again... for Just Such a Time.

Almost 4**. As I’ve said before, autobiographies are hard to rate because rating someone’s life & experiences is not what I feel we are called to do. I think Lindsay Bruce has combined her story into an autobiography, testimony, & sermon-perhaps what all our lives are, if put into words. In this little book, she shares her insights, struggles & faith. As she relates some of her personal story, she encourages her readers to be present in the moment, & see their value in ‘this time’, right now. I think there are some missing pieces, perhaps stories she did not want to tell, that suggest there is far more to know & understand about Lindsay Bruce’s life & faith journey.
