Isobel. Gorgeous. Pure. A perfect angel.
From the moment I see her
I have to know her.
Take her. Claim her.

But our fathers are sworn enemies.
Feuding families.
Once I take her captive
It will start a full scale war.

I don’t care.
I’ll make her mine.
Show her the power and freedom
Of giving in to dark desires.

Darkness. Depravity.
It’s all I know.
But her light becomes my salvation.

She lights a fire in me. A hunger.
One that will only be stated
When she becomes mine.

My captive. My bride.

Captive Bride is a dark full-length romance based on Romeo & Juliet. It tells the tale of star-crossed lovers in an intensely emotional new way that will leave you breathless and begging for more.

Dark Angel is actually two dirty angels who got together to write some filthy words.

Lana Angel, who writes under the Naughty Angel umbrella, writes dark romance under her own pen name as well as Dark Angel.

Alexis Angel, writes erotic contemporary romance under a variety of names - she's forgotten them all at this point.

They both write under Naughty Angel publishing and wanted to create a pen name to provide exclusive content with much more mature themes than the happy go lucky hot stuff found under the other pen names!

This is a dark, modern twist to the classic Romeo and Juliet story but with a HEA. Packed with drama, intrigue, action, and many emotions, Captive Bride is a definite must read.

Eight days torturing myself to finish this book and I just could not do it. I had to convince myself that it is okay not to finish this book, that it can still count for my 2018 reading challenge and if not, I'll read plenty more to go over my set goal.

I just can't do it anymore!

It sounded so good and interesting. Even when I read the first few pages before the first chapter about it being a Romeo and Juliet story, it still sounded great. It's that damned summary that got me! It almost sounded like another New York, mafia thing. I don't know where this is set in. But after reading the book, you can't really say the chick is kidnapped.

So let me tell you what first threw me off with the story. I'm not too familiar with Romeo and Juliet, name wise. "Montague" didn't ring any kind of a bell to me until I got to "Capulet" After a Google search I realized this author is actually using the last names of the J&R characters but just fully changed the first names of them to Tristen and Isobel.

Well, that little creativity ended there. Tristen/Romeo's cousins' names are shortened to Benny and Merc. Isobel/Juliet's cousin Theo is Tybalt. Rosaline is just flat out Rosealine with a drug problem.

So anyway, they meet at the ball, sparks apparently fly, at least that's what I'm supposed to believe. He comes to her house and "kidnaps" her and while she struggles at first, she quickly submits because of the kiss they shared in a dark corner at the ball.

Then they sleep together and that's basically all they do. And you constantly get reminded that Tristen has a foot long male organ while he calls his "capulet princess" every degrading name under the sun while doing her.

Isobel constantly has stupid whiny, baby tantrums whenever Tristen puts someone or something before her. She wants to run away to avoid the upcoming war and he wants to stay and fight her father. "Waa waa! But that's not I want, Tristen! Waaa!!"

Ugh! I just couldn't take it anymore. I stopped at chapter twenty-two. Apparently, the little war or fight or whatever happened the last two chapters and Theo called or something. And now Isobel is mad at Tristen because she has to chose between him and her cousin. But she's also mad at her cousin for not letting her live happily ever after with the enemy. So she goes to his room, slam the door as hard as she can to get attention. He later comes up and they sleep together.

This had potential to be good. Honestly, I think the summary is misleading. But whatever. it just didn't work for me.

Dark and intense, this is a modern re-imagining of Romeo and Juliette. Tristan is dominate, deadly and dangerous. Committed to his family and their ongoing rivalry, he is stunned when he first sees Isobel and he knows he must have her regardless of the consequences. Isobel is a pretty pawn that her family has kept hidden away. Now they have the perfect plan to sacrifice her in a grab for more power. When she meets a dark stranger at her engagement party, she knows she will never be the same again. Can their love survive their families war? Full of sizzling chemistry, scorching passion, danger, and tons of drama, you will be hooked from the start. An excellent read! I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

Oh my, oh my! This is a fantastic read and such a shame these two authors are not collaborating anymore, but what a way to go! A modern tale of Romeo and Juliet - Tristan and Isobell are written brilliantly and the story is full of emotion, good and bad, and in true Angel style full of hotness! A must read if you are an Angel fan, you won't be disappointed!

Pretty Stupid

This book ends at 15%. I didn't read any bonus material because it was hard enough getting through this story. The concept seemed great, but after concept, everything just fell apart. There was so much wrong that it's literally impossible to list them all. Here are some though. First, there was absolutely nothing about this girl that would make him fall for her. Sure she's a beauty, but that's not enough on its own to fall madly deeply in love. She had no personality at all. She was a doormat doing what daddy tells her to. No backbone at all. Unfortunately, the guy wasn't much better. This author suffers from not fleshing out her characters. At all. Without that, how can we fall in love with them? In the end, they do what they should have done in the beginning before killing most of both families in a stupid senseless war. The final straw for me was Tristan storming an enemy stronghold on what he says is a suicide mission with his 17 most trusted men of which all but 2 apparently die. But it's so worth it because he got her and even took the time to stop and have sex right in the middle of a gunfight in a room with 2 dead bodies as his finest, most trusted men died in the hall outside the bedroom trying to protect him. Even going so far as to tell her to Slow Down because they had plenty of time! Wth, no you shouldn't have. You should have been out there fighting to save your men! Then, how can we forget the constant non-stop references to his twelve-inch rooster? Seriously, I didn't need to read that on every other page. I got it the first time. After that, just saying big would have done the trick. I also don't know of a guy that thinks about his own hard abs and twelve-inch self. In the end, the story had no depth at all. This guy never had the first plan for anything. The shallow story was only beat out by its even more shallow characters. I was hoping that this author would improve with time, but I'm seeing no evidence of that here. Time to unfollow her.

Wow, just yes, wow!!!

Tristan Montague is the son of the Montague family, but he is a killer and doesn't care about anything but his family's honor and name. They are rivals with the Capulet family. This has gone on for as long as anyone can remember, but when Tristan learns of the Capulet's move to get the upper hand in the city and power, he finds a way to stop it. But what he finds is not what he expects? Is there love at first sight? Can this be true...from a Capulet?

Isobel Capulet is the great Capulet princess, she has been hidden away for most of her life, but when her family decides it is time to play their cards right, she is the pawn they use to get what they want. But at the engagement party she meets a dark stranger in the corner and immediately sees him as something more and something she won't ever forgot. And her first kiss is shared with this dark stranger, it makes her crave him in ways she never thought possible, will he devour her?

This is a twist on Romeo and Juliet, in a very dark and delicious way. Tristan takes Isobel for his own, but will she submit to him fully? Their families are enemies after all. Can she trust Tristan with everything? Will Isobel turn on Tristan the first chance she gets? This is a MUST read, it has everything from the charming ways of Tristan to drama, scandal, hot and steamy sex scenes and so much more. An all out war between two families comes to a head when Tristan kidnaps Isobel, a prisoner in her own home and a bargaining chip to her dad with the Governor. She’s all set to marry him no matter what she wants and an encounter with a handsome stranger during her engagement party, has her seeing hope for her future. Until that stranger kidnaps her but her outrage is short lived when she realizes its love at first sight and the feelings are reciprocated by him. Tristan falls head over heels with Isobel the second he spots her and he will do anything to posses and own her. Will they survive or end up like Romeo and Juliet ?
A great great read with steamy oh my steamy scenes, some suspense and action. I loved how the story was written, many times I thought the story was taking place in medieval times and then the author would bring a 21st century item to remind me that it’s not taking place centuries ago. The story was fast paced and flowed perfectly which kept me glued to the pages and the sparks flying between the two were jumping off the pages. The drama centered between the war going on and what drama was between them was dealt with quickly...refreshing. I also loved that there were no other women trying to come between them and their lust/love stood strong no matter what happened.

The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of my favorites and yet these authors have managed to turn it into a modern-day masterpiece with a dark twist. Unfortunately, this will be the last collaboration of these two authors and that is a shame as they bring a certain flair to writing a storyline that just grips the reader from the onset and holds his/her attention until the end. Tristan Montague is somewhat disillusioned with his choice of women and acquiesces to crash a party being held at the Capulet estate to catch a glimpse of the Capulet Princess, Isobel. He does not believe that she is anything special until he actually sees her and is blown away. The problem is that Isobel’s father is marrying her off to the Governor to further his own business plans. When Isobel and Tristan come face to face they are instantly attracted to one another. However, when Isobel finds out that Tristan is her family’s sworn enemy she becomes fearful yet Tristan is not going to let that stand in his way. How far will Tristan go? Can they stay together? This is one forbidden love story filled with drama and heat.

This is the last of the "Dark Angels" books,,,, I will be sad to see them go,,, although, I will still follow them individually ,,,, they are good as a team or as a seperate entity,,, I will read their writing just the same,,,,!!!

This is a great story about Gabrielle "Gabbi" Bishop,,, she graduated from Yale with a Political Science degree and the highest honors ever to be given from Yale, her future was set, she was weeks away from working with Senatoir Warren when he got his hand caught in the cookie jar (so to sssy)and now that her name is sorta attached to his, she can't get a job in her field, so now she works as a waitress or anything she can do to make money and try to pay rent on a dive of an apartment,,,,, until she realizes, she would get paid highly for the one thing she does have,,,, her virginity,,,,,

His name is Case Sterling and he is filthy rich, but he works everyday in his company and they are steps away from putting a rocket he has designed into space,,, he needs the permits from a certain Senator in order to see his rocket launch, but this Senator has seen Case date many different women and thinks Case would be a better candidate for these permits if say he was in a serious relationship with one woman,,,, and no better woman than a PoliSci virginal grad,,,, a little of both worlds, offer her X amount of money and maybe, just maybe he has to get Senator Gregory Price and his wife Abigail on board with his plan,,,, but, will Gabbi go along with the scam,,,, ???,,,,what could go wrong,,,,???,,,,, right,,,, ???

Ok,,, so, now I told you what it's about, but there are such big gaps that I didn't fill in,,,, so, now it's your turn to grab this book and sit and have a day to yourself and read this book, and don't worry, there is plenty of steam,,,, our Angels wouldn't forget that,,, this book is well worth your time,,,, trust me,,,,!!!

The Montague's and The Capulet's have been feuding for years. But a war is about to be started when the prized daughter of the Capulet's is taken by a Montague. Tristan is stunned by Isobel Capulet and wants her for his own. Isobel's engagement is announced as her family trades her for more power within the city. Isobel doesn't want anything to do with the man her family is forcing her to marry. So when she is kidnapped its a saving grace for her because it gets her away from her family. When Isobel see Tristan she is filled with an attraction she's never felt before. Tristan knows that Isobel is the woman for him and he'll fight to the end to keep her. Will their love survive their families?

This is a great story about forbidden love with feuding families. The chemistry between Tristan and Isobel is sizzling hot. This is a very entertaining story that will keep your attention from beginning to the end. I can't wait to read more by this author.

The Greatest Love of All! How Deep is Their Love?

Absolutely brilliant take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet! This dark romance was an absolutely superb read. Full of twists and turns, betrayal, murder, a gripping and fast paced page turner. The Montague’s and the Capulet’s crime families are century old enemies, even more so when Tristan Montague kidnaps Isobel Capulet on the eve of her engagement to the evil monster Governor, who the Capulet’s need in their crime business.
Fate brought them together but will it save them from their deaths? Will Isobels’s Suffering end? Or is she just in another gilded cage? Who can she trust? Can she take the balcony leap of faith this time? Can and will she be Tristan's forever?
I loved this superb read from the very first page, fantastic storyline and really well written. A definite one-click of a must read.
This is my honest review of an ARC I received.

Like Romeo and Juliet their fathers are bitter enemies but the only difference is he captures his family's enemies daughter Isobel and he wants to make her his at any cost. Tristan is willing to pay the price. Isobel is promised to someone else. By kidnapping her Tristan maybe doing her a favor the man she is promised to is not a good man and their arranged marriage is sort of a contract between her father and Governor. Who sells their child even their grown child I don't understand.

Tristan and Isobel fall in love it's not even likes she is being held captive, but she has a duty to her family does she go back to her family or does she stay with the man she loves even though their families are sworn enemies.

I loved this new rendition of Romeo and Juliet. This was a marvelous story and I just hoped that this version of Romeo and Juliet ended in their happily ever after.

Dark Angel is slowly but surely cementing herself as a must read author. Her name now equals wonderful stories. Each of her book is different, gripping, enthralling and so consuming that you establish a deep and gripping connection with the characters almost from the beginning. The journey she takes you on with Captive Bride is nothing but mesmerizing and you are able to witness first hand Dark Angel's creative writing and mastery with words. I was pleasantly surprised by an overwhelming depth that almost from the beginning will have you established a strong connection with the characters whom are exceptionally well developped. The story plot is fluid and so engaging. Once you start reading this book, it's practically impossible to put it down. In what can be considered a monotonous world of romance, Dark Angel brings a fresh, gripping, up beat and at times heartwrenching perspective that is reinvigorating and exhilarating.

Isobel has been pawned off by his father to marry an old geezer Governor. On her engagement day, Tristan fell in love at the first sight to her. They kissed and later he kidnapped her. He took her virginity. She too fell in love with him and he sort of forcing her to anal. Huh
Theo her cousin asked Tristan for a duel and was shot. For a week Isobel became a zombie. But then back to be Tristan’s whore. A priest suggested she fake her death with a drug and then he will married her with Tristan. At the same time, Tristan was arrested by the police.
She woke up in a wedding dress but in the Governor’s mansion. Fucking traitor priest. Luckily Tristan and his cousins were on revenge mission and attack the Governor’s mansion. Together they shot the Governor just like the pose of their shooting lesson.
They thought they were gonna die so they fucked.
Luckily Benny and Merc found a secret passageway and the escaped. They left to Vienna and wed.

Sadly, this is the last collaboration between Alexis and Lana, AKA Dark Angel. That alone should make you want to get this read. They have never produced a story that was anything less than excellent. This is no exception! This is a modern day, totally DARK take on Shakespear's Romeo and Juliette and I have to tell you it's pretty well done. Dark Angel just has a way with a story that sucks you in and holds you captive (no pun intended) from the very beginning until the very last word! This tale of forbidden love completely hits the mark; a good story filled with hotness, drama and sex, and does not disappoint any of those areas! All this and in a hospital setting too? You bet you've got a great story here! The characters are so engaging, you get to know them as you move through the book with them, and you just want to be part of this story...That's enough, just go get it! A quick read that you'll be glad you took the chance on.

"Retelling of a classic love story with a downright sexy-dirty & modern-day edge!"

I received an Advance Reader Copy for CAPTIVE BRIDE (A Dark Obsession Romance) written by Dark Angel (Lana Angel & Alexis Angel) and voluntarily reviewed this book. Isobel Capulet was an imprisoned daughter of a powerful and tie-hungry family. On the night she is announced to be marrying the equally corrupt governor, she meets Tristan Montague, and from there, a door is opened for a chance to change her already forfeited life. Once in the arms of Tristan, she has a chance to realize true freedom…that is, until her family and her groom-to-be catches up with her. Now, they have no choice but to pay their dues, but by doing so, they leave themselves at the mercy of true friends and foes alike.

Amazing story that is well written and has a great storyline and plot. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. The twists makes you just want to read more. It is very captivating and I read it in one setting. The words flows nicely of the pages. The characters have an amazing chemistry and passion between them. They are likeable and well described.
I like the dark side in the story. It has drama, action, lust, hotness, emotions, intrigues and twists. I just love the combination of it all.
Sorry that it is the last story these two amazing authors will write together but they are finishing at the top.

Absolutelty worth the read.

What a powerful book from Dark Angel!! This is a modern day retelling of Shakespeare's famous Romeo and Juliet. And I feel they did the play justice even though it was MUCH more naughty than Shakespeare ever intended :). It was gripping, terrifying, full of betrayl and death but most importantly full of love. Loved this book and should not be one you pass on! Especially because it is the last Dark Angel book they plan on publishing. Don't miss out! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Loved this twisted captive romance!

A feud as old as time between the Capulets and the Montagues, that is what this story is about. It's the tale of the Isobel Capulet who has been locked away and promised to a monster of a man, the Governor. During her engagement party she ends up kissing Tristan Montague without knowing who he is and they both feel the sparks between them. Later Tristan steals Isobel away and he hopes she can see past the fact that he is a Montague. Grab this awesome story to find out if their love will prevail. Loved this story and the sexy scenes were super hot!!!! Definitely a must read!

Dark retelling of a classic
Dark twist on Romeo & Juliet story! An epic love story retold. Tristan Montague is a man troubled by the things he must do for his family business. He feels unable to love but wants that connection. Isobel Capulet must do her duty for her family and marry a man she doesn’t love. All she wants is someone to love to connect with. Can Tristan and Isobel find love together in a world of enemies? This might be my absolute favorite Dark Angel story. I loved the scorching and steamy sex scenes. It had the right amount of intrigue, steamy sex, and story. This is another great book in the Dark Angel collection. I highly recommend it!

A dark, erotic version of Romeo & Juliet.
Tristan Montague is surrounded by death and violence. He’s never been in love and doesn’t know if his life is meant to have anything more besides darkness.
Isobel Capulet is the beautiful Capulet Princess. She’s never known freedom and has been practically a prisoner her whole life. Her parents are intent on using her for their own benefit.
This was a very good read. For whatever reason I did like Tristan better than Juliet even though I really felt bad about her circumstances.

This is a dark modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet with modern day twists and turns that keep this fresh and exciting. Its dark, dangerous, exciting, fresh, passionate and full of action with intrigue and suspense. The way this was written, it’s a fresh retelling in the modern sense of Romeo and Juliet, telling the story of Tristan and Isobel. I don’t want to give any spoilers away. This is a must read for it is steamy and sizzling, with the characters having that fantastic connection/chemistry; you will be hooked from the start.

Take Shakespeare & give it a dark, steamy, hot twist 🔥

First, I'll miss Dark Angel but I'm sure Alexis and Lana will be fine on their own. I'll continue to read what they release.

Now about this book. Glad I bought it. I loved the twist on the Shakespeare classic but with an HEA. Tristan & Isobel are beautiful together. Not only hot & steamy but lovely. Definitely a story that will remain in your thoughts long after you finished reading it.

There were a few things that probably should have been caught during editing but nothing my brain couldn't figure out.

Highly recommend if you like your HEAs on the dark side.

Tristan is part of the powerful and wealthy Montague family who has found out that their arch rivals, the Capulets, are about to broker a marriage between their daughter and the Governor.

Isobel family has arranged a merger between her and the Governor and he will assist with their plans to rule the city. Tristan wants to thwart her family’s plans but he never expected the attraction he would feel for her but will they find a way to be together or are they destined to follow in the footsteps of Romeo and Juliet?

21st Century Tale

Tristan and Isobel, the Romeo and Juliet of 21st century erotic romance. Although there have recently been many spins of fairytales, this is an intriguing retake on the Shakespearean favorite. It is somewhat , but not to the extent that it should push anyone's limits. And the ending is much better.

The inclusion of several other of the authors ' stories make this an even more worthwhile purchase.
