Two years earlier, Erick Fuller, a former SEAL, was severely injured when his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine. He lost his lower leg and two fingers. He's filled with steel plates and titanium pins…along with the driving need for answers and justice. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. After joining the team in England and finding a link to the antitank landmine used in the explosion, Erick heads to Kabul--to the site where the original incident took place--for more intel. What he discovers there blows him away…
Honey Lewis, an innovative leader in the field of dentistry, is invited to a cutting-edge stem cell research conference. The man who issued the last-minute invitation is someone she met at a similar workshop years earlier. While she knows she doesn't have the experience, she nevertheless can't resist attending to learn the industry's latest. Once she arrives in Kabul, she runs into another man--one she never expected or hoped to see again. She met Erick a year ago in New Mexico when she smashed into his beloved, vintage ’69 Mustang. Unbelievably, he's still upset about the accident. If only his overexcitement didn't bring out corresponding emotions in her…
With too many things going on at once--in her life and inside her own heart--the tug-of-war all but blindsides her with the realization that the man who befriended her might not be the man she thought he was.

Erick and Honey met by accident, when she collided with Eric's cherry ’69 Mustang he had lovingly restored with his grandfather. Going home from the hospital after months of surgeries and rehab to heal from injuries sustained when their truck ran over a bomb while on active duty, Erick wasn’t in the best frame of mind and was less than kind to Honey. A year later, Honey turns up at the same hotel he and a couple of his SEAL buddies are staying at in Kabul to investigate the circumstances surrounding the bomb that nearly killed them. Honey is there as a last-minute attendee of a dental conference and unwittingly gets dragged into Erick's investigation when the bad guys show up.
After reading the first book in the SEALs of Steel series, I was eager to read an advance copy of this second book in the series. Not only was I sucked into the mystery, action and suspense as the guys tried to dig up details about the bomb, I was captivated by these battle-scarred warriors. The dichotomy of these physically strong guys who each have some form of physical disability is intriguing, but their unique, lively personalities are immensely charming. Eric and Honey’s story was wonderful, watching their relationship develop in the midst of danger and drama. It was quite an invigorating ride as the guys learned more about that fateful day, and they all managed to cement themselves more firmly in my heart. This is a fantastic series, and I can’t wait to read the next book! I can’t get enough of these SEALs of Steel!!
*I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
The second book in SEALs of Steel series, and I am not recommending reading this book before you read the first one. You simply will get confused. Oh, and if you haven’t read previous SEALs series from Dale Mayer, you’ll likely feel a bit left behind. Some names from previous series came up with no explanation, it just as if you should know who they were. Well, as a long time Mayer’s reader, I do know who they are.
This one was better than the first book actually, for me. Erick and Jena were more relatable to me and I rooted for them easily. I also thought the story line was also more plausible here. I like that the clues were adding up in each book that, hopefully, the answer would be revealed in the last book.
An easy and fast read. Great for passing the waiting time.
I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
A few new answers leads to a lot more questions and the mystery of the ‘accident’ continues. When Honey is pulled into Erick’s investigation in Kabul, she is placed into such danger, that she could never have imagined. Erick is determined to protect Honey to the best of his ability. This is another action-packed book that grabbed my attention from the very beginning. This series needs to be read in order, to allow you to follow the background behind all the books. Another great read.
From a continuity POV, the timing doesn't sync for Honey to know that Badger & Kat are 'together'... or to even know who Badger is. So why on earth would she a: contact Kat in the first instance & b: be unsurprised that Badger & Kat responded. It had been 24 hours or so since Erick et al left the USA... and B & K had not been an item for more than a few days at most. Silly things like that spoil the flow of a story for me.
Honestly, Honey really is as dumb as a dumb thing that comes from Dumbovia and is called Dumb McDumpity. And Erick isn't much better... after everything that has happened he left her alone in a public place... he was supposed to be there too, keeping an eye on her. And, frankly, she and Lazlo had way more chemistry...
I received a free complimentary book and voluntarily reviewed it.
This is the second book in Dale Mayer’s “Seals of Steel” series. I loved the first book, but this one is even better. It is more exciting and more suspenseful than Badger’s story.
This is the story of Erick Fuller and Honey Lewis. Erick is one of eight SEALs whose truck, accidentally, hit a landmine two years ago while in Afghanistan. One man died and the other men were severely injured.
In the first book, Badger found out that the men’s route was changed at the last minute by someone unknown to them. Badger and a few members of some of the other injured men, started an investigation to find out what really happened to them.
Erick was one of those men. In this book, he, and some of his SEAL colleagues, decides to go back to Afghanistan to investigate some more.
Honey, a dentist, is, also in Afghanistan on a dental conference. Honey met Erick when she, accidentally, ran into his beloved car. Since then, they have had an adversarial relationship.
This book has two conflicts. There is the major one where the men investigate their accident. This storyline continues throughout the series. Then, there is the second, shorter-term conflict. This one involves the men and Honey. Someone is using Honey to get to the former SEALs for some reason. Ms. Mayer deftly draws us into the suspense of both conflicts. Throughout the book, we are never really sure if the men who are chasing them have to do with a smaller problem, or if this is part of the overall landmine conflict. Throughout this entire book, this author never lets up on the intensity of the danger. In fact, I found it impossible to figure out who was after this group and why.
Also, I am completely in awe of the relationship between the major and minor characters. All of Erick’s SEAL friends have a respectful and caring relationship toward each other. They are so in sync with each other that they know what each other are thinking and how they feel. It is obvious to the reader that they all consider each other like family.
I, also, love Honey’s relationship with these big, strong men. At first they take her into their circle so they can protect her. Meanwhile, they treat her with the gentleness and respect as they would a family member. Part of my enjoyment in reading this book comes from “listening” to the interplay between all of these characters.
The next book is about Cade, and I am, very much, looking forward to reading his story as well as the continuation of the landmine story!
Military Romantic Suspense is not a new genre but this series has an intriguing new slant, at least for me.
While serving in Afghanistan, the truck the 8-man unit were riding in was blown up by an anti-tank roadside mine. One casualty and 7 lives blown apart, literally. Now the healing has begun. Four men, Erick, Cade, Talon and Laszlo are on their way back to the accident site for answers with Badger stateside on intel. These men need to put the PTSD demons to rest and the only way is to find out how, who and why their truck was blown up.
I love this book! We have the opportunity to read about the difficult journey our soldiers face when they are severely injured while serving our Country. Lost limbs and lost memories are just a couple of the devastating hurdles soldiers have to deal with. In this incredible story, the second in this fabulous series, continues the progress these men have made in finding two year old clues. I love how this whole series is set up. Each surviving man from the accident has lost at least one limb, some multiple limbs, or some body part. After enduring the surgeries and therapy to attempt to put their bodies back together, they now face the memories and lack thereof of the accident itself.
Foreign countries that are at war are dangerous to their own inhabitants, but Americans, asking questions about soldiers and bombs is a very questionable venture. Honey, a young, beautiful dentist, finds trouble just because she is seen briefly talking to Erick. Trouble, secrets, and danger around every corner, Erick and his friends need to keep Honey safe while also keeping themselves out of the line of fire. This story has it all! Suspense, armed enemies, murder, and the thrill of the chase! Oh, and there are the hot men of SEALS! We also get the hot, romance between Honey and Erick that is the icing on the cake! A fast paced page turner, this is a must read!
Excellent job! I can’t wait for the next book in this series!! Loved it!
OMG! WOW! Dale continues to captivate and enthrall her readers into what led to the “accident” that caused such devastating injuries and death to a team of Navy Seals on a fact finding mission. The leads continue to evolve and grow… causing more questions to be asked than answers and resolutions. The plot thickens!
Returning to Kabul, Afghanistan - Erick, along with friends and fellow team mates also injured are looking for answers and clues to what happened that day two years previously. For Erick its also to find closure and lay some haunting memories to rest. Add Honey Lewis, a Dentist, attending a research workshop, to this intriguing suspenseful drama- oh yes… the sparks will fly and plots continue to escalate.
The major plot line continues to carry through the entire series but each book has it’s own sub plot and story that offers the characters more to deal with, or are the small developments just more layers to this overall plot?
Dale delivers you a story filled with intrigue, dramatic suspense and action. Wonderful, intelligent, caring and compassionate characters that are reeling from horrific injuries, learning to deal with life and limitations as it now is yet never giving up and adapting. Determined to find answers and justice - to right the wrongs.
Dale delivers you, another page-turning drama, intrigue and action, twists and unexpected turns - with ERICK. Highly recommended for those that love military based heroes and the women that capture their attention and love. It’s always wonderful to have other series book heroes/team members when you need help. That they have your back no matter what you are facing in life. Not only are they a team, they are family and will have your back no matter what, even when doubt and suspicion are high.
This is the second book of the series. However, you will understand more if you’ve read book 1 of this series and the other two series by the author before you read this one.
If you want to read what the book is about, read above the reviews. Our hero in this one is a man who was a soldier and is now medically discharged. His whole team of SEALs hit an IED. He lost one teammate and all the others were injured in some way. They’ve lost limbs, internal parts and most important confidence.
Our heroine is a person who was having a bad day when she met our hero, but that was a few years ago. Now, he remembers her because of what she did to his car. However, she’s just as stubborn as he is when she refuses to stop going to her conference for work or be careful in general. However, when she realizes just how much danger she’s in, she digs in and is determined to help in any way. Our hero has gone to the same place as our heroine to see if they can find out who made the mine, who sold it, and who placed it. Also, he is wondering if they forgot anything behind when they took them all out of there. A few more clues are given but still haven’t figured out what’s going on.
The plot is one where it sucks you in and you just want to find the answers out but while you get a few answers you must keep reading to find out more. You can see how stubborn the hero and heroine are and at times you roll your eyes but at others you laugh. It does give you enough of a thought to be careful of who you give our information to and go out with because you just don’t know…
I kindly received this book as an ARC & am happily posting a review for the same. This is book 2 out of the new SEALs of Steel series. It’s really a branch off of her prior series SEALs of Honor & Heroes for Hire. If you haven’t read the other series you may get confused with some of the names & characters introduced. However, it won’t detract from the overall story.
This story involves Erick & Honey. Erick is a medically retired Navy seal. His seal team was “ambushed” while transporting in a tank. The youngest team member died & the rest lost limbs & suffered horrific injuries. Two years and multiple surgeries later the team wants answers as to what happened. This book picks up where Bader left off. (For this series it seems you will have to read in order.)
I’m not going to give away the entire premise; so basically Erick & 3 other team members return to Afghanistan & begin to investigate what happened & how. Erick “runs” into Honey who is there for a special dental education/training seminar she’d been trying to gain entrance to for a few years. They’d met the year before when she’d hit his car. The story evolved from there. It seemed to me that some of the story wasn’t explained well or it was just too “convenient”.
Overall, the book was pretty good; I cannot believe how Ms. Dale turns these stories out so quickly. For a fast, no brainer read, I think most will enjoy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Seals of Steel series had a great start with Badger (book 1) and fully achieves its potential with the second book. The story is action centred. The team is on a mission, but not an official one. This means they don’t have any back up, relying solely on their abilities and their limited resources to complete the assignment. The expert and near seamless fashion with which they carry it out makes the reader forget that they are all severely wounded veterans. In a way, this is a beautiful tribute to those who have fought and suffered, and a message of hope that complete recovery is possible. The focus of this book is on the team, intricately depicting the members’ personalities and spending time to describe their loyalty to each other, their mutual chemistry and the team unbreakable bond over trust and respect. Those dynamics give life to a wonderful and engaging storyline, that captivates the reader and makes them admire the strength, courage and resilience of each team member. Honey, the female protagonist, reveals herself as a smart, skilled and very resourceful woman, becoming a valuable addition to the team. They are surrounded by many colourful side characters, each one of them bearing peculiar traits, enriching the story and creating a few entertaining cameo scenes. As in any respectable action book, the story is fast paced, full of twist and turns, keeping the reader engaged at all times. The spot appearances of some of the characters of the other Seal series will be welcomed by all Dale Mayer’s fans
This is the second book in this exciting SEALs of Steel series with Erick reconnect with the woman, Honey who crashed into his 69 Mustang a year ago when he was just leaving the hospital on his own after his many operations. She had just suffered a miscarriage and should not of been driving but her boyfriend deserted her with her best friend. She was at a dental conference in Afghanistan at the same hotel where Erick, Cade and Talon were staying having gone their to continue their fact finding mission to revisit the sight of their accident. As it turns out she is very close friends with Kat, Badger's girl and their doctor. Things take an unexpected turn as men are looking for them and try to kidnap her thinking she was close friends with Erick. As fate would have it Erick and Honey actually start falling for each other. This is a fabulous action packed novel as the mystery deepens as to who was behind their accident and they have to defend themselves when Laszal, another former SEAL on their unit, and Honey get kidnapped. Other SEALs from their unit get called in to help them take down the bad guys. This series is amazing as Honey and Erick get their happy ending and the mystery deepens with more people involved with causing their best fatale accident that did kill Mouse. I cannot wait to read Cade's story to find out more clues to this mystery as these brave men get their happily ever after. I highly recommend this romantic action packed series.
Erick Fuller is a former SEAL who was severely injured (he lost his lower leg and two fingers) when his squad's truck drove over an anti-tank mine. Six others were badly injured and one was killed- however Badger the team lead is realising that it was not an accident and they were deliberately sent down a trap. He has joined fellow team members to go to Kabul to find some answers. Honey Lewis is a dentist and is in Kabul at a stem-cell research seminar following a last minute invitation which has ignored her lack of experience. She also bumps into Eric in the hotel lobby which is odd as they had a car accident previously. She finds herself torn between the wants of her heart and the needs of her life. She also finds out the man who extended the seminar invitation might not be quite what she thought he was. Can both Honey and Eric reach their goals in Kabul and survive?
This is definitely a powerful story of attraction, deceit, betrayal and listening to your heart. I loved the way the story was linked so well with what is already occurring in that country and how it can impact all sides. The descriptions were very clear and easy to understand and the thoughts and emotions of the characters were explained well. A great read and I think it sets up the next book in the series quite well.
Books are our one great escape. I love going on a trip with any of Dale Mayer's books and this series is as awesome as her others.
Erick, Cade, and Talon continue on with the investigation started by Badger as they all have the driving need for answers. Badger is unable to join them on this trip to Kubal where the truck they along with 4 other Seals ran over an antitank landmine killing one leaving the others with missing limbs. They are joined on this trip by Laszlow and although he was not introduced in the first book, I think he is a welcome addition to this group. They are joined by Merk and Brandon who are non service now but are currently employed by Legendary Security which was introduced in Dale's Seals of Honor series.
The heroine in this book is Honey Lewis who is in Kubal on a completely unrelated business but Erik is slightly familiar with her because of a little run in they had back in the states almost two years ago but they have a lot of unrelated sparks between the two of them.
This book is a page turner with action on every page and some flirting at times.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to read Cade (Book 3) in this series.
Another great addition to the mystery of what happened to the SEAL’s of Steel as the second book focuses on Erick and the woman, Honey, who crashed into his pride and joy. Honey is at a conference in Afghanistan while Erick is there to gather intel on what happened when their truck hit a roadside mine, killing one of his brother’s and injuring the rest two years ago. Their first meet wasn’t pleasant and now across the ocean the second meet isn’t all that great. But as Erick and his group try to find answers, Honey is drawn into the chaos...can Erick get her out alive ? A great great great read as Dale Mayer delivers another read filled with suspense, some action, a hot SEAL and a strong woman who can hold her own in the company of the men. I love how with all these books there is no over the top drama between the two, no jealousies, no miscommunication or misunderstandings and how their attraction is drawn out until it combusts. The story flows beautifully, the characters are easy to love and with new information being found the mystery grows, keeping you hooked and wanting to unravel it and fit all pieces together. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
This is the second book in the series. The first book revolved around Badger and his mission to find answers over letting his injuries heal. In this book, Badger is forced to stay behind to have additional surgeries. It’s up to Erick, Cade and Talon to continue to search for answers. They decide to go to Afghanistan and visit the site of the accident. Then they’ll go to a nearby village to find out if anyone saw something unusual. When Erick arrives at the hotel, he finds Honey who he previously met when she ran into his car. Honey is attending a conference at the hotel where Erick is staying with the other members of the team. When Honey see suspicious characters in the hotel, Erick knows he needs to protect her. When people try to get Erick to stop his investigation into the accident, Honey’s chance meeting with Erick, put her in the line of fire. As they get closer to the answers, the risks increase. Even though each book provides more clues to what happened, you don’t need to read book 1 in the series to enjoy this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Erick by Dale Mayer SEALs of Steel Series Book Two Erick Fuller has taken on the task of finding out who betrayed their SEAL unit two years ago while Badger, his friend and former team leader, stays back and takes the time to fully recover. With a few other men from their unit, he heads overseas. Back to the scene. The last person he would expect to find over there...is the woman who hit his car a year ago.
Honey Lewis was so excited to be at the dental conference. Thankfully there had been a last minute opening. The expense was higher, was she was hungry for more knowledge. She was surprised to see the man whose car she hit a year ago. Didn't realize how good looking he was. Or how much trouble knowing him could get her into.
Far from home and not knowing who is friend—or who is enemy—the characters find themselves knee-deep in trouble. Erick was just doing some simple reconnaissance and Honey was just at a conference. Or so they thought. As the reader meets each of the SEALs who had been injured in the “accident” two years ago, the mystery continues in each story. **Sexual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
With Cade, Book 3 released last week, I figured I better get typing and let you guys know what I thought about Erick.
From meeting him in Badger, I felt Erick was one of the more level headed of the crew so far. At least he seemed to have some common sense and self preservation going for him. With Badger finally agreeing to surgery again, Erick and Cade head to the site of the explosion that nearly killed them all. Joined by another member of their surviving crew Talon, they get quite the surprise at the hotel.
Honey Lewis and Erick met by accident, literally, when she crashed into his '69 Mustang. Now by some weird coincidence they are both at the same hotel in Kabul. She's here for an elite conference on new and innovative dental procedures. What he's up to she can only guess. As the guys go to investigate where their injuries occurred, other intrigue begins at the hotel. Bringing yet another member from their team, Lazlo, to keep an eye things there.
As things heat up in many ways, more intel on what happened that day comes to light and a surprise twist I didn't see coming.
Plenty of intrigue, action, and the beginning of a relationship that is both amusing and sexy.
Erick and Honey had a brief history from a year ago as she ran into his car. Now he is in Afghanastan to continue to find clues as to who betrayed the team. He runs into Honey again at the hotel they are staying. She is there for a dental conference.
Sparks fly from their first meeting and the action takes off not long after that. The closer they get to finding more clues the more dangerous it gets. The team is making connections and in so doing they put Honey at risk. Lazlo, Cade, and Talon need help as things heat up. They get help from Mason and Levi and Brandon and Merk make an appearance.
I can't imagine how this story is going to end as each new piece of the puzzle is revealed it gets crazier and crazier.
Fast paced action and Honey is a great match for Erick. She isn't badass like Kat but she is leveled headed, sweet, loyal and has a big heart. Erick has for the most part recovered from his injures and he is just as alpha and protective as any whole retired Navy Seal from Ms. Mayer's series about SEALS.
I am hoked and am anxious to see how all of this ends.
I was very excited starting this book, because from the sneak peek in the previous book I can tell that Erick is going to meet his match, and this book totally not dissapointed. From the get go, the banter between characters is outstanding. This one is a military suspense mix in with enemies to lovers romance, it sure has interesting story and packed with actions. He's on a mission for vengeance and she's a damsel in distress who cought up in the middle. A seal and a dentist. They're so different but so perfect together. There might some gaps on the story, some missed facts and some repetitions, but with the all high-strung actions that keeps me alert and on my toes on every chapter, I can't put this book down.
As for characters, Loveeee Erick and Honey, they really got under each others skin, and that's what makes their banter superb. Love all the sweet, flirty, fighting moments. Honey is very reckless though, it's a bit annoying sometimes, but I admire how strong she is when facing danger. Yup love these two together.
If you love military suspense romance, this one is a must.
Dale has continued to wow me with this series and it’s getting to the be serious and I so need to know what and who it is. Erick has gone to Kabul whilst Badger has his surgery and is on comes 24/7. Whilst checking into the hotel he sees the one person he doesn’t think he will see again, the one person who crashed into his car........Honey Lewis.
Honey as a dentist has been invited over to sit in a conference for advanced dentistry and stem cell treatment. She sees Erick and can’t believe he is here. As the conferences go on, David the organiser, starts to get a little close but she puts him in the friends zone. As Erick, Talon, Cade and now Lazslo get closer to answers to their question a mysterious man wants answers of his own and kidnaps Lazslo and Honey so Erick will meet him. With the help of Levi’s men, Merk and Brandon can they rescue the two whilst get any answers they need? I loved the book so much that I bought the paperback. I can’t wait for the rest in the series as we find out who the traitor is and why.
Erick and Honey meet under the worst of circumstances when a distraught Honey crashes her car into Erick's pristine classic Mustang. A year later, they meet by chance at a hotel in Afghanistan as Erick and his team are searching for the truth behind the attack on their team two years earlier. Honey is in town for a professional convention, and the sparks start to fly as soon as each spots the other at the restaurant.
Soon, the threats generated by the investigation threaten not just Erick and his team, but Honey as well. Even though they're not able to spend much time getting to know each other, it's clear to everyone around them that there's a strong chemistry between them. There's a much deeper mystery behind their connection that was enticingly teased out, driving home the inevitability of their relationship. There's a nice romantic payoff at the end, though the overall mystery of the attack, started in the previous book of this series, has yet to be resolved. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Thank you Book Sprout and Dale Mayer for the opportunity to receive an arc. This is book 2 in her SEALS of Steele. The thread threw the series is ongoing, changing and evolving as try to find out what truly happened when they were ambushed in Afghanistan several years ago. Each book has a new main character (a different team member) that is carrying on with their investigation. I like this premise. I like watching the story continue and try and decipher what is real, what is a red herring and what the conclusion will be. I also like that fact that each team member gets their own book so we can get to know them. That being said, I kept feeling out of touch with Erick. I could connect with Honey, but it I felt as if Erick was phoned in. I know that's not the case, so I am wondering if I have a personal dislike to Erick for some reason. I loved the little twist that took place when they are all "meeting up" *snicker* at the deserted warehouse. Can't wait to see where this goes. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I volunteered to review this book.
Erick and Honey met by accident, when she collided with Eric's cherry ’69 Mustang he had lovingly restored with his grandfather. , Erick wasn’t in the best frame of mind and was less than kind to Honey. Erick and Honey's relationship was so great. I loved how they joked back & forth in their texts. When things start happening involving Honey they call in Laszlo. While Cade, Talon and Erick are off investigating Laszlo is charged with protecting Honey. Danger comes at them from a side they didn't see. It was great having Levy's team come to their aid. The question still hasn't been answered as to who set them up. I'm looking forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The fantastic SEALs of Steel series continues with Erick, who travels to Afghanistan with Cade, Talon and Laszlo seeking intel in their team's need for answers and justice for the incident that occurred when their truck drove over an antitank landmine two years ago, leaving one dead and the remaining six badly injured.
I was sitting on the edge of my seat while reading this fast-paced, action-packed thriller and couldn't put the book down from the first page to the last. I really liked Erick and his dynamic with the other characters especially Honey Lewis, a dentist from New Mexico who is in Kabul for a conference.
This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted suspenseful romance with unforgettable characters. I can't wait to see what happens in book three! I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my unbiased review. I liked it so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.
Exciting and action packed from beginning to end, lots of suspense and a few twists keep this a fast paced read throughout. I feel for these tough guys all were badly hurt and possibly betrayed by one of their own, now they want some answers and I don't blame them. Unfortunately as always best laid plans do not always go as they should, this is no exception and a few spanners get thrown into the mix. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I desperately want them to get their answers and the loves of their lives as a bonus. I want them as healthy as is possible and do not like them getting any more banged up. I find myself on edge every time one of them ends up beaten. These books get me riled up and passionate, I want to protect them from further hurt, silly I know, this is just fiction but I take my characters very seriously. Loved, Loved, Loved it
This is book 2 of the new series "SEALS OF STEEL" and it's definitely awesome. This story continues the search for answers in the ongoing mystery surrounding an landmine explosion which severely injured 7 Navy SEALS and ended the life of one of their team members. This book could be read as a stand alone but more fun after reading the first one. The first book centered on Badger and this book continues with Erick who travels back to Afghanistan with some of the team members to see if they can unravel the questions that have come up about the incident. He meets Honey whom he encountered very briefly in the first book and it seems she is in danger as well which adds to the suspense. With a combination of love, honor, mystery and intrigue, this book can't fail. I'll read it again! Edit
Erick, Cade, Talon and Laszlo have returned to Afghanistan to investigate what happened on their last mission that left seven of the men critically injured and the other member dead. They need to make peace with the past so that they move forward to the future.
Honey is a dentist who is attending a conference and is staying in the same hotel as the team. The only time she and Erick met was when she accidentally hit his car and it couldn’t have been at a worse time in his life so he didn’t handle it well.
When Honey gets caught in the crossfire from the investigation will the Erick and the team be able to keep her safe?
The author has managed to craft an adventure filled with suspense, twists, drama and romance that doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the second book in the Seals of Steel series. I thought it was action packed from beginning to end. The relationship between Erick and Honey throughout brought quite a bit of laughs for me and the banter with others is amusing also. Adore the way these wounded Seals are on a mission to find closure and justice for this tragedy they've found themselves now living very different lives. Brilliant that Ms Mayer has incorporated characters from Seals of Honor and Heroes for Hire to lend a hand with investigating and being extra teammates when things get tense. You can certainly read this series without having read both of the previous ones but you'd be best to start off with Badger then if you haven't already get started on Seals of Honor and Heroes for Hire. Eagerly awaiting the next installment as I'm so intrigued as to learn of the continued investigations.
Erick is the second book in Dale Mayer's new SEALS of Steel series and is is my favorite one so far. The characters were likable and the story was edgy and passionate, fierce and have plenty of action. Dale Mayer's SEALS are NOT to be missed!
For this new series, I do think its better to have read them in order. Its a lot easier to follow that way and I think it makes it much more enjoyable too. Honey and Erick are the kind of couple you find yourself really cheering on. They have sizzling hot chemistry together and the suspense and action that follow them just makes their romance hotter if that is possible. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to the next one.
Erick gets a STEAMY FOUR AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS!
Erick and Honey first met on the other side of the world after Honey ran into his prized Mustang. Now a year later, Erick and his former SEAL teammates are following up clues and Honey has been unexpectedly invited to a cutting edge dental conference. When Honey sees a suspicious man, Erick and his teammates are drawn in to help. I received a free book from the author via Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a well written suspenseful book. While Erick and Honey are not always in the same place, their romance slowly builds. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to reading more in the series. This book could be enjoyed as a standalone book but I’m glad that I read the first book in the series.
