If you could be a hero, would you DARE? Seven Signs. Seven days to save the world. - Seven Signs #2: Carnage By Michael Adams (Paperback)
Fast moving doesn't always mean exciting. That is the case in this book, the second in the series. It had very short chapters filled with what the publisher would describe as pulsating action, the story though was very unbelievable and you can forget about character development, or even why we should be caring about the characters at all. This is part two of a seven book series, and it is not going well so far.
Book 2 in The Seven Signs delivered more fast paced action and intrigue as the DARE winners race to decipher the latest symbols. Like the last book in the series, I'd say this is aimed at 8-14 year olds. Short chapters and constant confrontations made this a quick easy read. Another cliff hanger but I will be back for more!
Short enough to feel achievable, mature enough to appeal to tweens/early teens. Terrorism, code breaking, spanning continents this book is exciting and populated by well formed characters.
Better than the first book I think. Anagrams! Suspense! Action! Puzzles! It's kind of ridiculous to think the entire series takes place over one week, though. But I guess time-zones and stuff mess it up in my mind. The characters are kind of flat, I'll say that. Also Andy's only personality trait is that he's American. But it's so much fun!
I enjoyed the danger and action in this book. It has an interesting storyline. Switching between the characters keep me wanting to read more. I liked this writing style.
