Desperate to begin a new life, Jerilyn Bowman changes her name and goes off the grid. Sparks fly when Det. Nick Moreau confronts her about her identity and then seems to follow her wherever she goes. When a stranger dies while gripping her chin in his hand, passing to her the gift of prescience, she begins to witness awful crimes before they happen.
Jerilyn’s claim that she’s able to see the future both frustrates and fascinates Nick to the point he can’t get her out of his mind. Are Jerilyn’s claims of second sight a cover for her own crimes? Will Nick discover the truth before Jerilyn becomes the killer’s next victim?
Where the road to happily ever after takes a suspenseful detour.
Denise has lived in Louisiana all her life, and yes, she has a drawl. She has a wonderful husband and two incredible children, who not only endure her moods but also encourage her to indulge her writing passion. Accounting is a skill she learned to earn a little money to support her writing habit. Besides writing paranormal suspense, she holds a part-time job in public accounting and enjoys traveling, reading, and scrapbooking.
She wrote her first story when she was a teen, seventeen handwritten pages on school-ruled paper and an obvious rip-off of the last romance novel she had read. She's been writing off and on ever since, and with twenty-two stories already published and fourteen still available for purchase, she plans to continue releasing new books for years to come. In 2015, her Haunted Hearts series sold over 19,000 copies, placing the series on Amazon's best-seller list of ghost thrillers for over a year.
I was liking the book then the profanity kicked in, i don't understand the need to write profanity to try and make a book better, it doesn't it actually takes away from the story, and it takes away even more when you are using derogatory words to describe a female, don't we get enough of that in raps. Just my opinion.
I did however finish the book because it only blasted in my ear that one time. (HUH!!!) I would say that the rest of the book was okay, it is worth reading, it's mysterious, intriguing, and suspenseful at times. Now some instances will make you say, really, that's where you're going with that? That makes no sense. If you can ignore those types of instances and the few grammar mistakes you can get through this book.
I really liked this story. It was original. Paranormal would be a better word to use. I don’t know what “prescience” is. I’ll bet most people don’t. I don’t want to spoil the story. It’s about a psycho killer in New Orleans and a troubled woman who seems to to know a lot about it. She can’t possibly be guilty. It turns out she’s more than just psychic. There are no sex scenes in it, it’s just implied.
I enjoyed the story until I didnt. It started getting all tangled up. I didn't understand some of what happened. I went back and reread it but it just seemed to want to end it fast. Things got a little blurred. I started suspecting someone else, plus then she knows how everything is going to turn out but doesn't say anything. I.was like huh? Ill read the author again. I like the premise. I just wanted to.learn more.
Wow! It’s like Law and order, CSI, and Alfred Hitchcock had a party and this book was the result. Couldn’t stop reading and can’t wait to start the next in the series
Though I liked the flow of the story, the end just ...quit? There was no explanation, no wrap up, no summary. It just ended. It was like the author was rushed.
I enjoyed this book. Lots of action kept me from putting it down! Jeri begins having visions of murders that haven’t happened yet. The detective working the case can’t decide if she’s crazy or if she just might be psychic. Definitely reading this series!
I enjoyed reading this book. I loved how the author gave a very real look to what its like to have a gift such as second sight. I can't wait to read more of her works
I enjoyed the characters, I'm hoping the facts of her special abilities come forward in the next book. Look forward to seeing what becomes of journey .
