I can't count the number of times that I have holidayed on Mallorca. Not that I have some infatuation with the island, it is because my sister has lived there for the past fifty years. So after the cost of air fare, the hotel and car come free. As my first holiday was over fifty years ago, I think that I have covered all points east, west, north and south.
The 'Lonely Planet Mallorca' guide is an attempt to obtain some inspiration for my forthcoming trip. Lonely Planet do not adorn their guides with glossy colour plates, instead the pages are filled with good advice on areas to visit, where to eat, the main attractions etc.
In the coming weeks I will peruse the local library to scan other guides before deciding which one will end up in the suitcase, but I think most travel guides suffice.
