Taming the Darkness

Rate this book
I am dark. Half fallen and half white angel. I reap the souls of evil people and deliver them to hell. It’s a game and I’m the best player. Young and lethal. Even the Marked Ones are impressed by my work. It’s my world and I make sure evil stays in check. It’s all I’ve ever known…until recently. Now, I’m not supposed to reap a soul but protect it. Avery Cross is as dark and twisted as I am. He is supposed to save the fallen and it’s my job to keep him alive to fulfill the prophecy. How is this human going to save our world and why am I the reaper assigned to keep him safe? I am not a protector. My life was simple and predictable but now everything is changing.

Okay so I will start by saying I really enjoyed this story. I usually wouldn’t of finished a book like this because of the issues I had with it but the story was actually enough for me. The characters were very two dimensional but raven was kick ass and pretty funny so I enjoyed her. Also I’m assuming this is the authors first book? I should’ve checked first but I say that because it just had the flow of someone who hasn’t written a lot. Or maybe that’s the editors job? There were barely any grammar mistakes but often times a word was added in or the sentence wasn’t written correctly. But like I said the story was pretty good so I would definitely recommend it.

I started this book not knowing if I would like it, but decided to give it a chance since I love this authors writing style and each of her other books. That said, this book kept me captivated the whole time. It’s darker than her other books, which is what had me worried! Her characters are very relatable, in fact, i recognized traits I have in each of them. Both Raven and Avery find themselves through each other. The action is perfect. The book is fast paced and an easy read but it’s gripping. I suggest this to everyone. It’s one of my favorite books by Sarah
