Damon has plans to use Elena but they change when he realizes how much he cares for her. Now revenge is not the most important thing on his agenda.
This is a good mob romance. I enjoy the genre a lot as I like strong men who have that dangerous edge but also a protective side too regarding those they love. Damon fits that profile well. Elena is very innocent considering her background and wants to believe in Damon. They have great chemistry. I enjoyed their romance and all the drama and action too.

Omgggh this story had me all over the place I died!! So much emotions!!!
Elena and Damon know eachother through Elena brother Mattow (hope i spell that right) also Damon works for her father.. there a flirting and sparks between the two but Damon has a plan he is going to use Elena to get revenge!!
He and Elena take a small vacation to his apartment before things could heat up even more a call happens making Damon's plans crash and burn when Elena overheard the convo.. hurt, heartbroken and just a mess Elena just keeps silent the guilt is eating up Damon for What He has done.. but he still keeps to the plan..

The male lead is so wrapped up in his revenge that it clouds his judgment and he ends up reaping what he sews. The female lead is just weak and naive. The story was frustrating and dissapointing there really isnt a 'captive' situation more like a female that lacks common sense.

It was payback, it was not supposed to be anything more. Making sure things fell into place the right way took a little bit, and it was no hardship for either Damon or Elena.
Being on "house arrest" because of her sister's action is no fun at all, rather a big disappointment, is the way Elena is starting her day off. Her father is conducting business out of the house, so here Elena sits in the living room, reading (or at least attempting to read that is.) In walks her father's next appointment. That secretary of dad's is so sickening, thinking she is doing such a great job. Has her nose in things that really shouldn't have her included in. In he walks.....Elena remembers him, her brother's friend, and the guy she has crushed on for a very long time. He is her father's next appointment, so while he is waiting for his turn, she gets a chance to make some small talk with him. The secretary calls him into the office, while making seductive eyes at him, and just like that Elena is once again head over heels for Damon.
He comes to meet with Enzo (Elena's father) to discuss the issue with the job last night. He sees Elena sitting in the living room, and since he has to wait to see the boss he sits down and chats with her. He was her brother's friend, and he had the feeling she liked him. That is perfect, his plans include her. She is shy and innocent, but that will change soon enough. As they are talking before the meeting, it is light and flirty but nothing too bad. The secretary calls him in for this appointment. The appointment went as Damon thought it would. Now finished with the boss, he sees Elena still sitting there, waiting for him, just like he told her too. The thoughts this provoke for him just are better than he thought.
Both Elena and Damon have feelings and there is definitely chemistry flaring from them. Damon has reasons for his interest in Elena. There is a plan that Damon is going to put into place, unfortunately it involves some not good scenarios to get to that end result. Even though he feels he has thought this plan through, things start happening, and this throws a wrench in the plans. No worries, improvising it also going to happen. Elena is a willing participant to a certain extent. She willingly sneaks out and goes with Damon for coffee. She also is willing enough to sneak off with him, and hoping he is going to take her V-card. This is all Elena thinks is happening. She finds out she is in the middle of crossfires. She learns this AFTER she and Damon are together for the first time. Confused, angry, hurt and a bit of understanding lead her feelings for Damon, after she learns she is leverage between her father and Damon.
The big showdown is about to begin, Elena tries to stop Damon for carrying out his plan, only to learn her father is the person Damon told her he was. She sees this first hand now. Things go bad right away. With the ropes finally free, Elena springs into action. Then BANG. Things are being shouted but muffled for her. There is a lot of disarray, moving, not knowing what is happening, waking up and realizing where she is, which is not at home....all things poor Elena is going through. Two weeks of piecing things together, now fully healed she is being told a huge secret....one she is not sure what to feel about. She learns about a donation, flowers, cards, and then she is rewarded with a surprise visit. There is anger and hurt, but still a small ember from their spark. It just isn't enough right now.
A move to her own place for Elena, a fresh start. She starts finding the same note and flowers every morning. She knows who is sending them, but she wants to see for sure. Caught in the act Damon is starting to write his note, when he is the one caught off guard. Elena surprises him, talking starts....Damon is not going to let go until he can prove himself to her, to be worthy of HER. They go on a few dates, all the while both are holding onto hope for themselves. The kitchen is the place the home fires start for these two, even better and hotter than before. There is another event that happens, it does involve her father, Damon and herself. This time daddy dearest does something that Elena will not allow Damon to do, and she herself will not forgive her father of asking. A year goes by, all the changes Elena and Damon go through, there is even a bit of her family and Damon trying to work things out enough that there is some sort of mutual ground, it is strained but it is changing. With an even bigger surprise happening for Elena and Damon, and really the whole family....it is all a powerful start to their happily ever after.

The thing I loved about this book is what so many of the men in this author's stories show us. When it comes to the women in their lives, even when these men come from a frightening past or a deadly line of work, the women bring out the vulnerabilities in them. Damon is employed by a mafia leader and learns some rather disturbing news about his past and how his family was involved. When he finds out this truth, he knows there is only one way to make Enzo Guerriero pay, and that is to destroy the one thing that means the most to this mafia leader, his daughter Elena. But it isn't until he does the unthinkable and kidnaps her that he discovers something about himself that gives him pause and makes him think about the retribution he is about the unleash. Will he be able to carry through with his initial intentions, or will the hitman find that he has a heart after all? And if he does, what does it mean concerning Elena Guerriero?
People always expect to read the hard and dark hearts of the people in organized crime, but they forget that these are people too. And sometimes, this isn't something they decided to do by choice. It's not always easy to get past the tough exterior they need as a front in order to carry out their jobs, but they are human. And this is the side we get to see of Damon, that piece of him that is buried because he doesn't want it to show and needs to hide it in order to go through with his agenda. I love that this author uncovers that heart in the darkness of the bad boys she creates. It's bittersweet and heart rending. And the HEA is worth all of the unpleasant and sometimes frightening situations these men have to face. I also find that this author's stories are becoming much deeper than when I first started reading her books. I am truly looking forward to Matteo's story because being the son of a mob boss has an entirely extra layer of hardness to it.

Elena, her sister and their brother knew Damon as they were growing up. Elena has had a crush on him for as long as she can remember but she thinks he just regards her as his friend's little sister. Damon and Elena's families are involved in the mafia and Damon is a hitman for them. He learns that it was because of her dad that he lost his family and he is intent on Retribution. He also knows that Elena is where he is going to make her dad hurt the most when he plans to kidnap her and more. But what he didn't expect was to fall for her! Nikki Chase has composed for us a delightfully sensual and passionate story full of emotions from the hard hitman who didn't think his heart could get involved with anyone - never mind his 'enemy's daughter! I have been reading Nikki Chase's stories for a couple of years now and her stories always entertain me, captivate my attention and leave me looking forward for her next book. So beautifully written with plenty of detail so that I almost felt as if I knew these two people. Elena is a lovely young woman who has a very loving and caring personality. Meanwhile Damon - the hard nosed hitman, has a gentle heart and he cares passionately about those that he loves and it was so easy to see why Elena loved him. When Damon's plan doesn't go accordingly he adapts but also realises that he is falling hard for her. All does not go smoothly for this couple but they endure and their love will be tested again and again. To find out whether they get their HEA and what will happen to her father, you're going to have to get your own copy and I do encourage you to do so as this is a really great book that I didn't put down until I'd completely read it all. fans at the ready for the steamy scenes and remember to switch off your phones so that there are no interruptions! It was supposed to be for revenge, payback for what he felt was a wrong done to him and his family. He has planned it very careful that is until he walks in and sees Elena again then the rules seem to change. Elena has always had a crush on Damon coming face to face with him again proves not much has changed she still head of heels for the man. The chemistry between these two were off the charts as they start building a relationship things happen that shows her that his feeling for her isn’t real. She learns Damon has been using her for leverage she is hurt, confused and angry. Elena has put her father high in a petal he does no wrong, when she finds out all that Damon has told her about her father is true now taking her life in her own hands she finds things are even more confusing. There are so many emotions going on that you can feel the hurt and pain of the character. Damon isn’t willing to give up on what they have and fights for it. As they come together again with understanding and start building their life together her father steps back in and rocks her world. This time she won’t be so forgiving.
What a great Mafia story that sucks you in from danger, excitement, heart stopping moments, lust, and betrayal. There were times I held my breath. The author gives so much excitement and danger with love that you have to pause as each scene takes your breath. It was a thrilling read that kept me spellbound. I loved how the plot played out holding my attention. I enjoyed how the characters held their cards playing them one by one. If you are looking for a delightful, exciting read filled with danger this is the one for you.

Who Took Who Captive?
Mob families, bad dealings, sexy times and hearts opening wide weaved its way throughout fast paced this impassioned, vengeful mastery of to die for love and honor.
What starts out as Damon seeking revenge against Enzo and the pain he has caused him-- becomes something else entirely when his plan to take Enzo's daughter Elena hostage proves to be more than he bargained for, the feisty " good girl " has more to her than the facade others see.
Damon quickly realizes Enzo won't be the one to take him down-
A hot, infuriatingly crazy back and forth with some sweet heat relationship antics at play this mobbed-up storyline. With a side of stalker'ish behaviors and awe thats cute in a weird creepy, domineering way.. had me shaking my head, chuckling at the humorous banter and thinking *yeah, I can't say I do the same, but good on her. *Kind of thoughts as I frantically swiped the pages of this interesting take on bad boy romance!
Nikki Chase has some outside the box uniquely ( IMO of course ) fresh ideas that make these " mini vacas" as I refer to them all the better! Light on the angst, a slight dark tinge, mild domaint sprinkles, it was all sexy, plot twists maddening heart squeezing fun I am glad I had the chance to read!

Wow...I loved this read...full of surprises...couldn’t get enough. Damon is out for revenge on Elena’s dad, Enzo, ever since he found out the mob boss was responsible for what happened to his parents. He has calculated and devised a plan but when he sees Elena again, his plan changes to a better one in his eyes...kidnap the daughter, he gets what he wants from Enzo and he’ll get his revenge with a sweet payback. What he doesn’t expect is Elena making him feel things he thought were long gone...will she stop his plan.
Not what I was expecting and I wasn’t disappointed as the story went on. I loved how Damon doesn’t realize what he actually feels until an incident, staying cold and disinterested when warranted and being conflicted just a bit of what he wants to do but still sticking to his plan. What really surprised me is Elena, how strong she was and what she does after the incident....LOVED IT...especially all the grovelling even months after...swoon sigh. The ending when her dad visits and Elena does what she does...I wanted to clap. The epilogue and the HEA was perfect and I wanted to keep reading about these two....recommended read.

My rating for this book is 4 and 3/4 stars. I love a "good" bad boy and that is what Damien is! Elena is just his weakspot! He grew up around her and her sister, he was friends with their older brother. Elena has always found him to be gorgeous, but she thought that he saw her as a little girl and just his friends little sister. Damien works for her father who is considered a mobster and not such a nice guy. Damien is one of his trusted men....Elena flirts with him and he flirts back.. she hopes that she has a chance with him. She wants him to take away something that she no longer wants. Damien is out for revenge and he hopes to use Elena to get that he feels he is due! Damien has been planing this for some time and wants nothing more than to take down Elena's father! Can he keep his plan to just revenge? Will he struggle with the feelings he has for Elena and what he wants to do to her? Well you will have to read the book to find out! I want to thank Nikki Chase for the opportunity to read this book in advance of it's release. I enjoyed Damien and Elena's story! I look forward to your next book.

Sometimes sweet, yet frequently tense and scary, this steamy Mafia Romance illustrates “love conquers all”.
“His Captive” is not your typical “Mafia” fair. The prose of Nikki Chase’s newest novella is smooth, and the characters are rich despite its length. In fact, Elena and Damon were so easy to love and I could not put “His Captive” down until I read the very last word. I received an Advance Reader Copy for HIS CAPTIVE: A Mafia Romance written by Nikki Chase and voluntarily reviewed this book. Damon has spent years planning revenge on the man responsible for his parents’ deaths. It didn’t matter that the responsible party was Enzo Guerriero, mafia crime boss, who was the father of his best friend as well as his boss. And Damon was going to use anything and anyone necessary to complete his task. Including using his moves on Enzo’s daughter, Elena.
Elena just wants out from under her father’s obsessive control. So she sneaks out one night to meet Damon, whom she’s always had a huge crush on. But when the anticipated sexy date with Damon then turns into something else entirely, she has to wonder what Damon has in store for her. And has she ever meant anything to him at all? A bit of suspense and drama make this an enjoyable read!

A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirement for leaving a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my own honest opinions on this book and this authors work. I am a mafia romance lover and this was a great book for me! This is a hostage seduced to lovers storyline. Elena is the sweet, innocent and naive daughter of a mob boss. Damon is the made man working for Elena's father, he is dominate, hardened by his life choices, deeply protective of those he cares about and a man with good guy attributes that are buried in himself. There is mystery, danger, drama, revenge and a mesmerizing story with vivid writing and well fleshed out characters and scenes. The sparks were flying all over the place between Damon and Elena. I didn't want to stop reading and was anxious to see what was going to happen next. Great book all around.

Damon might have underestimated Elena
Elena is no match for Damon and his seduction skills. She's harmlessly flirting and he's setting up her abduction. Revenge for his parents' deaths has been driving Damon for most of his life, and unfortunately, Elena is part of it. She's 23 and is a believable mix an innocent enforced shut in and a responsible tax consultant. She lives with restrictions and protection, which makes sense. Her mob boss father has made a lot of people very angry, like Damon.
I like Elena's character. She handles her situation like an adult, not an angsty, rebellious teenager. Good revenge story. It's not really dark or boundary pushing, but it's a good revenge story where the heroine is surprisingly good at handling a kidnapping. This is Mafia love story about Damon and Elena. Damon has worked for elena’s Father, Enzo the mob boss and once he finds out he is responsible for the deaths of his parents does he plan for revenge. Mason grew up being friends with Elena’s brother so she is happy that her long time crush is giving her attention. To get what is his he takes Elena after he makes her believe he wants her for who she is. I enjoyed how she treated Damon once she realized he was keeping her for leverage. Will Damon be able to keep his emotions for Elena purely business or will his true feelings show themselves? I really enjoyed Mason’s character through the good and bad! *Spoiler Tag* Nikki Chase has done again. This is a must read. I could not put it down once I started reading it! Damon and Elena are amazing together. Very Hot!! It truly has everything that you could desire to read about... love, revenge, the mafia, kidnapping, murder, drugs, submission, hot sex scenes, and of course HEA! Damon works for Elena’s father Enzo who is in the mafia. Damon wants revenge for what Enzo did to his parents. Damon knows how much family means to Enzo and what’s better than going after his virgin daughter. Damon convinces Elena go on a date with him and then he kidnaps her. During this time he has an internal battle with his emotions. You will absolutely love the ending to this book.

Another really good book that draws you into the story and captivates you wondering which way it's going to end. The characters are believable, they have a really hot chemistry for each other but have their own reasons why they shouldn't be together. Elena is the overprotected daughter of a mafia king, knows what a hard businessman her father is but she wants to fly the nest and live a normal life. Damon works for her father and knows first hand what her father is capable of and wants revenge. How easy would it be to use the chemistry between him and Elena to avenge his retribution?? Except true feelings could possibly get in the way and scupper the plan!! This story has a bit of everything mystery, suspense, mild violence and plenty of hot steamy sex. I would definitely recommend this book. I was given this as an ARC from Booksprout in exchange for a voluntary honest review.

She has always been attracted to Damon but he works for her father, she stills flirts with him and he flirts back but Damon has other plans on his mind and that's to get his revenge one Elena's father. Elena's father is a creep and Damon wonders how he can have a daughter like her. Damon has plans for Elena and I think she won't like what he has in store for her. He has plans to hold her captive. Her father owes him something and he will not release Elena until he gets it.
Will his grief and revenge cause him to lose Elena forever ?
What a mafia story Damon wants revenge but does he get it by taking his enemy's daughter and what about if he finds himself falling in love with this woman.
This is a five star read.

It never included Elena, Enzo's daughter, until Damon met up with her again at Enzo's home. Elena had turned in to quite a beauty and Damon was interested. But he really couldn't be on a personal level. It could only work if he kept it at a business level, even though what he planned to DO to Elena would be plenty personal so he could hurt Enzo! Would Damon follow through with his kidnapping idea? Would things go according to plan? Would emotions and feelings get involved (somehow they always mess things up!)? I'm not telling! Elena has wanted Damon for as long as she can remember. Damon has found out that Elena's father the mafia boss he works for was responsible for the deaths of his parents. He decides to kidnap Elena and exchange her for her father's life. While she is being held captive Damon realizes he has fallen in love with her but he can't let go of the past. During the exchange Elena is injured and Damon is told to leave her alone. When she is recovered she finally convinces her father to let her live her own life. During all this time Damon has turned his life around and starts trying to tell her how sorry he is about everything. She finally catches him leaving flowers at her door and confronts him. They start talking and figure out that they are in love.

I really enjoyed it! I loved the characters and their story. I really liked that the characters connection wasn't there automatically. You are able to see them grow and connect together. I couldn't put it down until I passed out, and even then, once I woke up the next morning, I picked up where I left off. I kind of disliked Damon in the beginning because of the way he came off as, but eventually that changed once he finally got his priorities straight. I personally wanted to smack some sense into Elena a few times, but throughout the story she started to mature and it was nice to see that side of her.
It's a fun read. I enjoyed it.

Damon has a plan to get revenge for wrongs committed by Elena's mob boss father. Elena is crushing on her brother's friend, and plays into his plans. But the connection between these two is hot and real, and plans change. Those changes put Elena is mortal danger, and what happens when you cross a mob boss, who, incidentally, is your mob boss? I enjoyed the story and would have liked a bit more detail about what happened to Elena. As a character, I liked Elena, her calm & strength & determination to out from her father's control. I enjoyed Damon when he was with Elena, but he wasn't much of a thug, lol. Enjoyed the ending, which took place over a longer span of time.

Damon is out for revenge on the mafia boss Enzo who was responsible for his parents deaths, Elena is the sheltered Mafia princess daughter of Enzo. Elena has always had a huge crush on Damon so it does not take much for him to convince her to break her fathers rules. When he takes her hostage he soon starts to realize that she means more to him than just a tool for his revenge. Elena is a very sheltered women who has been kept separate from the business but she is also very intelligent and strong. When it comes down to his revenge or losing Elena forever Damon must make some tough decisions, will he make the right one?

I thoroughly LOVED the cover for this book and the chemistry between Damon and Elena was off the charts. After working for her father, Enzo, he discovers that Enzo is responsible for the deaths of his parents. With this revelation, he decides to take Enzo's precious, virginal daughter as his captive. But when the chemistry between the two of them explodes, he has to determine if his revenge plan is valid or if she is worth giving it up. With lots of twists and turns, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely one of those books that you will want to keep and re-read.

The story took the Stockholm symdrome to a whole new stage. It is very well written and has a great storyline and plot. The characters are well described and develops nicely through the story.
I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists makes you just want to read more. It is very captivating and I read it in one setting.
The epilogue was welcomed because it finishes the story of in a better way.
The story has drama, action, mafia, passion, hot chemistry, family issues, revenge, submission, kidnapping, murder and a lot more. A story that keeps you on the edge.
