"His Big Mountain Axe" is the story of Larkin and Axe, and well the story involves a lot of his big axe going into her deep bark. Wait..
-A strong, alpha hero with a bigggggggggg rooster
-A sweet hero with ability to house that rooster
-Some mob drama
-Loads of dirty talk
-Chitty chitty bang bang in all positions
-HEA with epilogue
If you like insta love/lust reads with loads of smut, this will be for ya.

This was the story I was waiting for. Since meeting Axe in a previous book I was waiting to read his story. I really enjoyed how there was a plot all laid out before the two even came together. It wasnt just big mountain man throws woman over his shoulder and walks away with her. I did wish there was a little bit more on the history of Larkin though, the only thing I found missing. The two of them together was cute and they made a good team. Axe doesnt know it but he put his outlaw days behind him the moment he picked saving her from the nasty hands of his rival instead of being patient and following through with his plan of revenge. Although there were lots of steamy scenes I dont feel like they were overdone like in the previous book with the twins.

Running from a crappy ex-boyfriend and a life worth leaving, Larkin’s stuck in the middle of nowhere when her car breaks down. With nowhere to go, she gets a job as a cocktail waitress at the local strip club. Despite not being a dancer, she happens to catch the eye of a big mystery man that just started visiting a few weeks before, but they’re both playing coy. But that changes when she’s put into a bad situation with a forceful patron and her big mystery man, Axe, comes to the rescue. But despite saving her, he just put her in more danger than she’d ever realize.
What I liked about this story is that it’s typical Madison Faye, so it’s 100% safe (hero celibate 4+ years); has a possessive hero with a dirty mouth; and in this case, the heroine wasn’t a virgin.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. There was so little development or interaction between them before he decides he owns her, and it made for underwhelming sex scenes. Also, it was typical Madison Faye, but it felt like the clichéd corniness was amped to eleven.
Example:
It read like one of those scenes out of a bad telenovela where the reformed bad-boy killer hero falls so deeply in love with a chick he’s known all of 48 hours that he rejects his killer instincts even though it’s her life in jeopardy. 🙄
It’s a cheap way to add drama and I’m not a fan (obviously).
It’s not a bad story, but with the lack of chemistry and the writing, it’s not one of Faye’s best.

A massive 5* from me for the fourth book in the Blackthorn mountain men series by Madison Faye. I was so looking forward to Axe's story and I really wasn't disappointed at all. We have met the other men on the mountain before Braun, Vlad and the twins and they have a small show in this book. Axe is a man of mystery and we didn't really get to read much about him as he came quietly when needed and disappeared just as quietly and quickly.
He has a history and is hunting a figure from his past that slaughtered his brothers from his motorcycle club. Moving silently he finds his prey but doesn't show his cards just yet........then he sees Larkin. She works at a strip club as a cocktail waitress and is tired of handsy clients until she sees.......Axe. Things take a turn and Axe has to save Larkin as his past comes back to haunt him. After getting away all is well until they are attacked, Axe left and Larkin stolen away. With the help of the other men on the mountain can Axe save Larkin before it's to late? And a shock from Axe's former MC comes back from the dead. A fantastic book that had me sucking in my breath from the third chapter reading and taking it all in to see what happens. Axe is looking to get revenge on the people that killed his club members and he down to just one person left. The hunt has taken him to a strip club where he has been watching the man that he wants to take down, but while at the strip club he sees Larkin.
Larking escaped and abusive boyfriend and came to be working as a waitress at a strip club to earn fast money to get herself back on the move again. Axe and Larkin are both attracted to each other but haven't acted on those feelings. When Larkin in put in danger from the man Axe wants to take down, he just grabs Larkin and takes her back to his mountain home.
This was a really hot enjoyable read!

Loved this novella! It is a darkish mountain man romance that will suck you in and cause you to read it in one sitting. Smut, action, drama, love, and a touch of dark makes it great. Never boring.
Both characters are likeable. Axe is a macho alpha bad boy and Larkin is not whiney or annoying. Their chemistry together is sexy! Oh the sex, yes please!
Overall, it was quick, but so good. You won't be disappointed.
If you need a steamy, sexy read you can't go wrong with anything by Madison Faye. All of her work is well worth it!

Larkin is running from an ex that is abusive. While working in a strip club she comes across Axe.
Axe is on the hunt. He is hunting a man that killed everyone in his biker gang years ago. He has finally found his prey and he is hanging out at the same strip club Larkin is working at. She is the last thing he saw coming, but he will be taking her with him when he leaves.
I loved Axe when we met him briefly in the last book. He is a rescuer, and quite. He doesn't want help from anyone nor does he want to be friends with anyone, but he will put himself at risk to help others. So when he finally needs help from others he doesn't know how to take it.
We do get to see the other men from the last books, which was nice. This is a wonderful book and who knows we might get another since we see another man from Axe's past.

Can't get enough of these Blackthorn Mountain men! Axe was the one I was most excited to read, and he did not disappoint.
Axe was growly, possessive, 100% alpha.
If you like you're stories a little dirty, with a big dose of Insta-goodness then I would definitely recommend this book. It also comes with a dash of action, suspense and drama.

The cover is so gorgeous I wanted to kiss him/it all over :-D
And the big mountain man inside this novella is equally alluring. This addition to the Blackthorn Mountain series has more sexiness and sass than ever. Axe makes a big impression with his long hair, wild looks and intense attraction toward the waitress he saves from some dangerous thugs.
There are some seriously sexy scenes in there! Including laps and bikes!!! Think naughty, exciting and daring.
Throw in some roaring bikes, a heroic kidnapping, a secluded cabin and smoking hot, primitive mating, you'll hit the jackpot!
I enjoyed finding out all the secrets behind the last beast of a man roaming the mountain, including the thrilling finale and the never-disappointing epilogue. So much fun :-)

Finally Axe’s story and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Axe is sexy outlaw who wants one thing revenge until he sees Larkin. Their chemistry is instant, their sex is hot AF and is definitely a one handed read. I love the background story of Axe and hoping there will be more into that.( don’t want too say too much because spoilers) This was an amazing read that I didn’t want too put down.

A quick, hot and sexy read. Axe is one hell of a sexy, alpha outlaw, and Larkin is a sweet cocktail waitress. Their lust and attraction are instant with sizzling chemistry. They get into a dangerous situation and Axe takes Larkin with him to keep her safe, and also because he wants her! Entertaining read with lots of sexy times.

Wow! Another powerful and sinfully sexy read about one of the men of Blackthorn Mountain Men from Madison Faye. Axe is a massive, alpha recluse that only wants revenge. Until he sees Larkin. He knows as soon as he sees her that she is going to be his. Truly alpha male taking his female and making her his. Add in some danger and this book kept me flipping pages and was done before I knew it. Great book and a good way to end this series, though I wish we didn't have to see these men go! Could have been good...
This could have been a good (if short)book . The bones were there...the plot was there...the characters were there...BUT---in a 12 chapter book, the majority of the book was just sex. Now, I like lots of heat in my books, but there has to be something else. I found myself skipping whole chapters trying to get to the story. I didn't bother reading the other books included.

Axe might be my favorite
i read these book completely out of order. I only have the Mountain Daddy book left. This wasn't my favorite story wise, but hot lordy I love Axe. I felt like the other stories had more content. This book seemed to be mostly smut (not necessarily a complaint) The smut is super steamy. I read these books through KU, and I loved them so much I'm going to buy them and re-read them in order. Idk why I waited to read this one, but I'm regretting it

This is another man from Blackthorn Mountain, Axe is the quiet, recluse on the mountain
but he is out for revenge. Axe's motorcycle club was attacked one night and everyone but
he, was killed. Axe was away that day, so survived to exact revenge for his fallen brothers.
Larkin is a cocktail waitress in a strip joint where Axe is watching for the murderer of his friends.
Miles Harding is the killer who's specialty is infiltration and he did just that, he made himself
a member of Axe's Club, then ambushed them in a killing spree. Larkin catches Axe's eye and he just can't look away, he's been going to the strip joint for 2 weeks now, hoping to spot Miles but is focused on Larkin most of that time. Mikes starts trouble with Larkin, but Axe steps in and is recognized by Miles as the one that got away. Axe takes Larkin with him up to Blackthorn Mountain to keep her safe but he really wants her for himself. There is an instant attraction and lust between them which is as hot as can be. There is more action and much sex as the couple gets aquainted and the past has some big surprises in store. Other Mountain men from past books appear too, as they find their mountain
under attack from Axe's enemy. I understand this is the last of the Blackthorn Mountain men but I hope one day we will see how they are all doing, along with their women and children.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Holy Guacamole....this book was HOT!! I couldn't put it down. I am never disappointed in anything that Madison Faye writes. We finally get to learn Axe's story and why he is on the mountain.
Axe was the sole survivor of his MC after it was betrayed by a business associate. Since then he has been carrying out his revenge on the people responsible for his brothers' deaths. Now only one person is left. He is so close to being done with his revenge when he meets Larkin. Larkin is working as a waitress in a strip club to make money to fix her car. She wants to get out of this town so badly that she puts up with the idiots that come to her workplace. She serves Axe his drinks every time he comes in and he treats her differently then the rest. One night, the 'creep' as she calls him "requests" her to sit on his lap. She says no but he doesn't like that answer. Axe steps in to help her out even though he knows that it's dangerous. After an intense encounter with the creep, Axe steals Larkin away to his place. Axe knows that Larkin is his and now he needs to show her how good they could be together. But the past comes back to haunt him and Larkin is kidnapped. Will Axe be able to save her?

Can we first take a moment to wholeheartedly enjoy how exceptionally hot this cover is?! Ready? Ok... Axe is alpha male mountian perfection! I LOVED this story, it was like reading a really hot, steamy romance movie with a hint of action and MC.
Larkin is working in a dead end job, just waiting for the right moment to move on, when Axe saves her, takes her to his mountian cabin, and then claims her. Axe is a gigantic mountian of a man (described just like the cover, thank you), who is seeking revenge on a man who killed his entire MC. He has found himself attracted to Larkin to the point of distraction and blowing his cover. So as not to give too much away, I will leave the plot description here, but will say that the action was bold and well balanced with the passion.
I am a huge Madison Faye fan because of stories like this: great characters, awsome plots, adventurous, erotic and animalistic passion, and the ability to loose myself into a new and fantastic world each time. I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review and it was beyond my pleasure to read this story. I hope you enjoy it as well.
Larkin is working in a dead end job, just waiting for the right moment to move on, when Axe saves her, takes her to his mountian cabin, and then claims her. Axe is a gigantic mountian of a man (described just like the cover, thank you), who is seeking revenge on a man who killed his entire MC. He has found himself attracted to Larkin to the point of distraction and blowing his cover. "The Mysterious Axe gets his own story…and his girl!"
I received an Advance Reader Copy for His BIG MOUNTAIN AXE written by Madison Faye and voluntarily reviewed this book. Working at the Centerfolds as a waitress to save up her money was all Larkin could do when her car broke down just outside Salt Creek. At least she didn’t have to resort to stripping at this club to earn her living, and she did have a college degree under her belt. But now, her pseudo-established & humdrum life became sheer and instant chaos when one of big-talking customers hit on her. And who comes to save her? The man who has been club-stalking her, but keeping his distance and always at her table.
When Axe steps in to protect the waitress he had been lusting over from a particularly obnoxious and handsy customer, he leaves himself open for more than just heated words. Because the reason he was there was not for the waitress in the first place…She was just a gift he didn’t expect! This was another delicious Blackthorn mountain man who happens to be at the right place at the right time, with the right bits of drama to make his story interesting!

His Big Mountain Axe is the fourth book in the Blackthorn Mountain Men Series and we finally get mysterious Axe’s romance! Axe has one goal, and that’s revenge. He even has it all planned out. What he doesn’t expect is Larkin, wanting her, needing her, saving her. When his target threatens Larkin, Axe steals her away back to his mountain, but can he keep her safe and still get his revenge?
This book was a mix between being very sexy and very entertaining! It captured my attention right away, with Larkin working in a strip club and that’s randomly where Axe is, too. The drama was intense, but the chemistry between these two was hot, hot, hot! And that scene on the motorcycle, holy smokes! I loved Axe and his backstory and how he instantly loves Larkin. Larkin had a really interesting back story, but we unfortunately didn’t get much of it. This book was action packed (intimately as well as dramatically) and if you are looking for insta-lust, insta-love, and a quick escape away from your day, this is absolutely the book for you!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Axe's story and we meet Larkin. Larkin is on the run from her ex and is working in a place she never thought she would be, a strip joint. However her on highlight is seeing Axe come in. Axe knows he doesn't need the complication of a woman in his life he is out for revenge and revenge only. There is just something about Larkin though that has him coming back in to this place. However it all blows up when The person Axe is after tries to put his hands on Larkin without her permission. Can they both get what they want or will this person from his past make a future impossible?
This is an amazing story that will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. There are ups and downs in this book that I really want to ell you about. I however don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

His Big Mountain Axe by Madison Faye is the story of Larkin and Axe. Yes, this is finally Axe’s story which I have been dying to read for some time. Axe is one hot man who is all outlaw, seeking revenge until he sees Larkin. Their chemistry is immediate, instant and intense- so steamy and sizzling. I loved how Ms. Faye gave some background about Axe and I hope we get more later about his background {hint hint}. Larkin had a past full of pain and she had hoped she had outrun that past and found some peace…then she meets Axe and BOOM! This is great novella that has the drama, angst, danger, steamy scenes and that HEA I love reading about from this author. Looking forward to reading what Ms. Faye writes next!!!

Madison Faye is a go-to when I want quick, dirty, and all kinds of easy. His Big Mountain Axe is a sexy standalone novella that is sure to get your heart beating faster, have you squirming in your seat, and leave your panties a sopping mess. And a bonus? Her books are always standalones.
He's had his eye on her since he started his little recon mission at the strip club and when danger strikes throwing her in the middle, he takes her away deep into the mountains and plans to keep her. Now he just needs to convince her of that. Axe and Larkin are quite the addicting pair.
Grab your partner or your BOB and hang on tight. Madison does not disappoint in this hot little number.
I highly recommend this book.
