He’s all I ever wanted, but what I could never have
Bishop Royal is a sleaze. He’s a cheat, a copycat, a bastard. He knows what you think of him and he doesn’t care. All he cares about is his best friend, Jake.
Jake Ellis has loved Bishop Royal for sixteen years. He’s been by his side through everything: deaths, hardships, and triumphs.
When Bishop’s life is pulled out from underneath him, he figures with nothing left to lose, it’s time to tell Jake how he feels.
Under pressure to be the picture-perfect boyfriend and his father’s perfect son, will Bishop fold or go after the only thing he’s ever truly wanted?

This one was just Ok for me. It was pretty short which translated into the story feeling very underdeveloped. There were also very heavy subject matters (coming out, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse) that because of the length wasn't given the page space they deserved. On top of that, I wasn't a fan of the fact that Royal basically That pretty much ruined the already thin connection this couple had. AND...to that end, I am not even sure how this qualifies as a romance book when the couple spends only a few pages out of the entire book actually in the same place! The majority of the book is about Royal getting his life together. So yea, as I said...this one was just OK.
I think I saw through Bishop Royal’s attitude straight away after meeting his father Jonah, although father is a bit if stretch because you wouldn’t treat an enemy how Jonah treats Bishop. After being canned from the BMX team he rides for and being―once again―chewed out and belittled by his father and told what a waste of space he is, Bishop can’t wait to get back to Jake, his childhood friend and the only good thing in Bishop’s life.
Thing is, Bishop’s always had feeling’s for Jake, but no one knows, especially not his homophobic ass of a father, but after the day he’s had, he’s got nothing to lose and plans to tell Jake his true feelings. Things don’t go quite to plan though which catapult Bishop into a period of drinking and drugs and dangerous encounters, until he has a wake-up call and meets Bennington and enters a period of dawning realisation that he’s got to learn to love himself and get some passion back for life and the things HE wants to and achieve and not what his father expects of someone with the Royal name.
I loved Jake and how perfect he was for Bishop and most importantly how he did the right thing by him, even if it hurt them both, Jake knew it was the only solution.
This book was a treat; the stunning cover caught my eye straight away and I loved reading about where it was set, in New Zealand and Australia, the thrills and spills of the BMX/Extreme Games world and the supporting cast were great. I haven’t read any previous books in the series but it didn’t hinder the story as the author gave enough background on the supporting characters so it can be read as a standalone.

All I Want by Megan Lowe Holy smokes, I was not expecting that. No seriously I haven’t got any fancy words to explain what I went through reading this story. I felt like at one stage maybe two that I was being sucker punched. At one stage I put the book down and walked away.
This is not your typical Megan story. It isn’t filed with rainbows and unicorns, it’s not like the other stories in the series. You can bet your bottom dollar that you will be in shock with Bishop and Jake! These two men are such beautiful souls, I really enjoyed reading about them. When I read the last story, I was like I bet this Bishop character is hiding something… and I called it when I was speaking to the author.
I knew deep down Bish was kind. I really like Jake and I understand why, he did what he did… but it hurt! I loved the writing, I love this series and I love all the BMX/Extreme Games world that Megan has created. I just love the whole family aspect of this series. Its one of the many reason why I enjoy them. Warning though, there is use of drugs, homophobic douches, heavy drinking and stupid decisions that will make you so mad! This story was a treat though, it’s a different side to the authors writing and she has done very well with showing us that she can write differently and can stamp her mark at writing a LGBT novel that impacts a punch.
The journey these two men take is beautiful, finding themselves, forgiving oneself and learning to love yourself. Healing is important in this story and we definitely watch Bishop do that. All I want reads fast and doesn’t hinder anywhere, I think you could read it as a standalone because you are given a great amount of background information that you wouldn’t get lost in this world.
I am excited for the next story/ies to come. Overall rating 4.5 stars.

4 Stars Review by Lisa Late Night Reviewer for Up All Night w/ Books Blog
All I Want by Megan Lowe is the fifth installment in the Rocking Racers series. And all you will want it is more of Bishop and Jake!!! In this MM story you will feel the feels. The heartbreak of when life pulls the rug out from underneath your feet. When at every turn the walls feel like they are crashing in on you and how the choices you make can change your course/direction.
One of the things I enjoyed reading about in this story was just not the "romance" aspect. It was the struggle of Bishop. From being on top to the rock bottom and his climb out. That sometimes a little push from someone you love can help you more than you know.
As this novella is a little over 100 pages, you will be sucked in and read right through. It is a fast paced but complete story.
Bishop Royal has it all and he has the attitude to go with it. He has no quam and no regard for anything other he BFF Jake and being his father's perfect son.
Jake has always wanted Bishop, he has always been there for him.
But when Bishop's life is crumbling by the minute and he has nothing left to lose he tells Jake exactly how he feels. But how long can Bishop continue to live in two separate worlds? And this is where the story gets good, but you have to read it.
Well written, story moves so smoothly, that its over before you know it. Kinda like this review lol just kidding! For real though pick this one up!!
All I Want by Megan Lowe is book 5 of the Rocking Racers series, however, it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book of the series that I've read and I didn't have any trouble following it. It is both sweet and full of pain, but sometimes we have to go through the bad to truly appreciate the good.
Bishop has been in love with his best friend forever, but he is afraid of admitting that little factoid because of his father. Things happen and Bishops world comes crashing down. He's lost his reputation, his purpose, and the one man he loved.
Jake has loved Bishop just as long, and the last thing he wanted to do was to walk away, but he didn't feel like he had a choice.
Their story is full of angst, misunderstandings, triumphs, and love. It's a story that will draw you in and you will keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. You cheer for the characters even when you want to slap Bishop alongside the head. There were a couple of parts that I thought were a little slow moving and others that I thought were fast-paced, but that didn't distract from the storyline and I still enjoyed reading about these characters. I'm going to give this book 4 stars and suggest that you one-click this book today!
Bishop is forever chasing his fathers approval. He's your basic jerk, smart mouthed, cocky. Chasing women while really only being interested in one man. Everything he does is to try and prove he is worthy to the father who just doesn't care. He hides the fact that he is in love with his roommate from his bigoted father. After being fired from his latest BMX team and facing his fathers wrath one more time he get high and professes his love to Jake.
Jake who has been in love with Bishop for years, actually rebuffs him when Bishop picks Jake over his father. Leaving him, telling him he has to make things work with his father. Bishop spirals down without Jake, drugs, jail. His community service brings him back to racing and The man he loves.
Bishop is not really a likable character for most of this book. When I started to like him I was surprised. I think that denotes good writing. I haven't read the other books in the series and you don't need to read them to enjoy this one.

WOW! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is the fifth book in Rocking Racers series and can be read as stand alone. This is my first time reading on of Megan Lowe books. I'll definitely going back and reading more from Megan. This is Jake and Bishop story. I’m in love with them. They are best friends who finally give in to each other. They’ve sacrificed, fought and over come to finally be together. The heartbreak of when life pulls the rug out from underneath your feet. If you love reading MM books then this is the perfect one for you. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to read more of your books.
This is a new to me author. This is a mm contemporary story set in New Zealand and Australia. Jake is a lawyer and Bishop is a BMX extreme athlete. Friends to lovers story with a bumpy ride in between.
Royal Bishop name fits him, cause he’s a Royal pain in the a$$ and a copycat when it comes to competition moves in the Bike world. He’s handed things thanks to daddy, but what we see isn’t always what is the true story. This is book 5 in the Rocking Racers series and can be read as standalones. We meet, Royal in Breaking Down and he’s arrogant and you just want him to crash land his bike to get a wakeup call. What we don’t see though is the real side to Royal until we read this story. There’s two sides to every story and Royal isn’t an a$$ really once you hear his story. It is heartfelt and heartbreaking all rolled into one. Jake is Royal’s BF and has kept his feelings from Royal for many years. He puts that aside and is there for Royal as a faithful friend. It breaks his heart watching Royal be with all these girls, but what Jake doesn’t realize is that Royal cares for Jake though he doesn’t always show this in the best ways. Just when Royal decides to speak freely on his feelings for Jake his life is pulled out from underneath him. Does Royal continue living up to Daddy’s expectations or does he take what he should have taken a long time ago and gets what he wants for once? The pressure is on and at times you must hit rock bottom to become who you need to be. You will see some friends that are made that weren’t enemies, but you weren’t friends either in the competition world. Never did I ever imagine two characters to bond the way they did, but that was one rocking win all around. All I want, is about taking a step back and looking around to see what you want and what you can have after you speak your mind and release the true you that was hidden for so many years. You probably didn’t like Royal in the other story when you met him, just like I didn’t, but I have to say after reading his story, I love him, and his name is now fitting for him as you watch him grow and fight for his HEA. The sacrifices made by both Royal and Jake make you want to hug both of them. There isn’t a character in this series that doesn’t grab you and make you fall in love with them. I love being able to see snippets of some other characters and I’m excited to see that we will get a Liam sandwich down the road. Wondering if Kyle who we meet in this book will a story in the Rocking Racers, hopefully so. That ending though makes All I want and is an epic win in my book.
All I Want by Megan Lowe is the fifth book in the Rocking Racers series and the only one I've read. It chronicles Bishop and Jake's relationship.
Bishop is the star and Jake has admired him from afar for years, however the minute these guys let any type of feelings finally show for each other, all hell breaks loose. Between family and jobs, there is too much going on for Bishop to concentrate on Jake.
While predictable, I liked following the ups and downs of these two. It was almost like good cop, bad cop and I am so glad Megan Lowe didn't make Bishop one of "those guys" when he was at his lowest point. She let him teeter at the edge and then brought him right back to what was right.
The book is well written and as the only one I have read in the series, I did feel like I was missing a few inside jokes. Bishop and Jake were solid characters that you couldn't help but want a happy ending for.
Ah! These characters! I’m in love with them. Bishop and Jake are wonderful. Best friends who finally give in to each other. They’ve sacrificed, fought and over come to finally be together. I really enjoyed this story, Bishop grabbed my heart and wouldn’t let go. I loved watching him heal and fighting through his emotions to find his happily ever after.
All I Want is book 5 in the Rocking Racers series, and it can be read as a standalone, which is handy since the other books in the series are MF.
Bishop Royal is in a bad place in his life, he lost his place in the BMX team he was on and his father keeps telling him what a disappointment he is, so he decides to finally tell his best friend, Jake, that he's in love with him. After all, it's not like he has anything else to lose, right?
This was more Bishop's story, rather than Bishop and Jake's, even if we did get Jake's POV in a few chapters.
When I started the book, I wasn't sure what to think of Bishop, the poor little rich boy who kept trying to make his father proud of him by pursuing a career in extreme sports that didn't fulfill Bishop any longer. He'd lost his way, drowning his fears and frustration in alcohol and drugs. And even after losing what he wanted the most, he had to hit rock bottom so he could start rebuilding his life. I felt bad for him. He lost his mother and his father was a right bastard. And then his BFF/boyfriend asks him to come out to his father with predictable results, and the bf steals away in the night and moves from NZ to Australia leaving Bishop with just a note asking him to fix things with his father after Bishop chose Jake over him. And that sends Bishop spiraling out of control until he ends up in jail and finally decides to start taking responsibility and make his life better.
So, yeah, I ended up liking Bishop, even if he made tons of mistakes. It really was a miracle he didn't OD at one point or that he didn't do more than just make out with strangers and have an aborted bj, which after how Jake left, in my opinion, isn't really cheating. A really bad idea, yes, especially under the influence.
Then there's Jake, who I felt very blah about, really. Once he got together with Bishop, he kept pushing him to come out to his father, so they could be together in public and whatnot and when he does, he leaves him. It made no sense and it didn't help to endear him to me.
And don't get me started on Bishop's father, who not only was a homophobic twat, but insisted that Bishop had to call him by his name and just wanted Bishop to succeed in sports so he could brag about it. I didn't find anything redeemable about him and truly, with a father like that, you don't need family. Which made Jake's actions even less understandable.
Overall, while I liked some aspects of the story, as you might have realized, there were others that didn't quite work for me, and yet, I still found the book entertaining. It had a great cast of supporting characters in the second half of the story, that really contributed to Bishop's turnaround. And I really wouldn't mind reading a book with Kyle as a lead. Recommendable.

This is my first book by this author. Being the 5th book in the series I was bit worried that there would be a ton of people with backgrounds and stories already told and I would have been completely lost. Luckily, this whole book felt like a stand-alone.
I did enjoy this book. It has an interesting plot. It's not very angsty and there's not too much action really happening but it has a plot that will keep it's claws in you from wanting to know how it ends. There are a couple of spots that I had a tough time with. Not because it was poorly written but because the main characters were kissing or having relations with someone other than the other main character. I DID NOT say they cheated. Because they were not together at the time. But, the fact that they already had their own thing started with each other is what makes it a bit hard for me. I'm a hopeless romantic, what can I say?
There was a part in the book where a conflict was solved with a two minute conversation. The conflict between one of the main characters and his father went back years and in reality that would have been one lengthy conversation before things started to even remotely look in the right direction. Let alone everything resolve itself in the same day during one very, very short conversation. I would also like to point out that this is, in fact, a BOOK and NOT reality. So, it didn't really bother me. I'm just stating all the facts.
Towards the middle, it did get a little slow for me. I wasn't as connected with the story as I was at the beginning and even the ending. It felt like it started to drag.
My favorite part was how deep the love ran between these two. Remember what I said up there? ⤴️ Hopeless romantic! 😍💖💙💖💙💖
Overall, this was a pretty good book. I think I might go read the first 4 in the series now.
I voluntarily read and honestly reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Wow!! Ok first I have to admit this is my first M/M book that I have ever read and it was absolutely beautiful. And no it’s not got anything to with nothing besides I’ve just never been drawn to a book that was M/M before. Now M/F/M yes I’ve read plenty of those but this was my first M/M. But this is my series and I have read every book so far and I’m not giving one book up. And I love love no matter the sex so until I actually saw the cover I had no idea. Of course the usual with this series once I start I can’t stop and before I know it I have finished the entire book and am craving for more. In this book we get to really get to know Bishop, yes Bishop! The guy always causing trouble for everyone. The guy that “doesn’t “ measure up to what others are. Well we find out he’s hiding who he really is by trying to make his father notice him. And we find out he’s been in love with his best friend Jake Bishop and Jake finally find themselves together and it’s an absolutely beautiful perfect kind of love. But there’s some more mistakes and some more losses. And Bishop’s father will never accept the two of them together. Can they work out? Will Bishop find his happy? This story was so beautifully broken and perfect. I smiled, I cried, I wanted to smack Bishop so many times it wasn’t funny. I loved every minute of this book!! And I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!! And if you are holding back on reading this book or any book because it’s an M/M then don’t because you are missing something truly special!! And I highly recommend this book! -By Tina

M/M is not a genre I typically read but I was happy I was able to branch out and give it a try. Bishop and Jake’s relationship was a story we have all heard about before but since I was new to this genre it still felt new to me. It was filled with so much angst and heartache at times I thought my own heart was hurting but I still loved the HEA at the end. Bishop has covered up who he is for his whole life and when he finally comes to terms with who he is his father gives him a choice. When he makes the right choice (IMO) it backfires on him and he is left heartbroken. As he sorts through and tries pick up the pieces of his life, readers get a tiny glimpse into the life of a man trying to be who he is meant to be that makes himself, his family and ultimately the love of his life happy. I give this book 3.5 stars out of 5 because it was so emotional for me, but enjoyable at the same time. It was a friends to lovers book that also touched on subjects of family and self accepting issues that someone might have to work through in order to be who they truly are. It was gut wrenching at times when life style choices were confronted and to walk through those issues was nothing short of extraordinary to read. I know stepping out of my comfort zone was a new feeling for me but glad I did!
If you like sports romances or M/M, then this is a good book for you! All I Want is a short, quick BMX story filled with a lot of heat. It would make the perfect book to read on the beach or while travelling.
Bishop is a little bit reckless, spoiled, and insecure in the beginning. It was great seeing him mature and change. Jake was sweet and incredibly loyal. I enjoyed watching their friendship grow but didn’t really feel the chemistry for them to become something more. I felt like there was more chemistry between Bishop and Kyle than between Bishop and Jake.
The plot was unique; I haven’t read any BMX romances prior to this. Unfortunately, I found my attention wandering frequently. There wasn’t a lot of action, angst, or suspense to keep me reading. I did love the epilogue, though.
All I Want was my first book by Megan Lowe. It’s part of the Rocking Racers series. I read it as a stand-alone and don’t feel like that was a problem, despite being book five of the series. I am curious to read more about Jax and Bentley, so I may look up their book next to find out more about them.
Bishop Royal has attitude and a loud mouth that he won't control..... He rides for Deanstars as a BMX rider. His attitude has him canned from the team as he doesn't pull his weight so goes back home to New Zealand... His flat mate Jake Ellis will always be there for Bishop no matter what but....... When Bishop shows his feelings to Jake the story takes shape... Jake has always thought of Bishop with love always has... Bishop has many issues the main one's are his father and his sport and his attitude ... Jake gives an ultimatum .. You will see in this book if Bishop can change his life around and give to Jake what he needs. To help others instead of taking ....
I fell into the pages of this book and devoured it... Highly recommend this book.
Ridding has been his life for so long that he couldn't remember why he was doing it any more or if he was as good as he thought he was when he first started out. The only thing Bishop knew was that he could no longer hide the side of him that craved to hold Jake in his arms. The problem was that he first had to learn who he was without the only man he has ever cared for. First Bishop had to prove he was good enough. Jake has always loved Bishop, he has been by his side his whole life through the ups and downs the highs and the crash and burns. This story is not just a romance it is a story of two people who love each other so much they are willing to let the other go to ensure that each grows stronger as individuals to be amazing as a couple. All they want is to be with one another. I loved reading every hot mess minute of Bishop's journey back to his Jake.
Bishop and Jake best friends since forever. But Bishop wanted more but felt he couldn't have it. He's always looking for the approval of his dad and he knew his dad wouldn't approve. But what he wanted was always in front of him. He just needed to find his way to it. And after hitting rock bottom he had to figure out a way to get his personal and love life back in order. I loved the people that helped him do it. These people saw more in him than he did. This was a good read. Had me in my feelings.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. An I really enjoyed it.
Bishop and Jake... jeez where to start with these two. Bishop and his struggles to be who he truly is was heartbreaking. Seeing him from fall, to him struggling to pull himself back up was beautiful. An having Jake was just the topping of the cake. I love friends to lovers romance. All I can really say is READ THIS BOOK!! You’re going to love it.
This book was on my wishlist for ages before I finally bought it. Maybe that built up my expectations for when I finallygot it.
The good points: That cover is gorgeous, there are no grammatical issues and it didn't lie about who Bishop was. The reason I took so long to buy this was my hesitation on whether I'd like Bishop. His character does improve from the man described in the book blurb, but I don't like him.
The bad points: so many plot issues.
When you're at the start of a romantic story and it reads like the main characters are already having their happy ending but you're only 25% into the book there's literally nowhere for things to go but down. So much contrived melodrama to supposedly help Bishop grow as a character. It tries so hard to get in these feel good moments that nothing reads as realistic. When we finally get to the end, it just doesn't feel like Jake and Bishop are really in it together any more. The story started so THEM then went off the rails and the momentum for their romance was just gone and I don't feel like the author brought it back in the end. Disappointed is an understatement, but I didn't totally hate it.
Except for everything to do with Bishop's dad. Hated that to a degree that I can't even begin to talk about because I know I'd exceed the character limit for reviews. One thing that I will say is that Jonah's kind of homophobia doesn't just go away. The last half of this story acts like homophobia isn't a thing and there's no issue with Bishop or Kyle being gay like the first half of the book didn't highlight Bishop's own issues with being gay. You can't have it both ways in one story without some major event to change worldviews. Either there are homophobes in this world and we learn how Biship deals with that new aspect of his life or no one really cares about the sexuality of others. It's just another example of contrived melodrama at the beginning and trying hard at the end for a Hallmark style happy end. I hated that, too.
When the book first begins, I am not a fan of Bishop. He seems to be arrogant and doesn’t care about much. He cares for Jake. Jake who has always been there for him. Jake who has stood by him and talked him down no matter what. Jake who supports and believes in him. Now Bishop decides to tell Jake how he feels and this is when things go haywire for Bishop. As Bishop grows and learns you fall in love with him.
Jake I adored in the beginning. I didn’t like how he went about things after Bishop stood up to his dad but I understood why he did it. This was when Bishop spiraled down but also started to grow and mature. When Bishop was floundering and hurt he self destructed. This self destruction brought him down a few notches and he learned humility. He also saw that the expectations to ride overtook his love and he didn’t know where he wanted to be anymore. He knew he wanted to be the man Jake should be with. So he takes his punishment and works on bettering himself. He does some self discovery and learns what he wants to do. He goes about finding peace within and his love for riding again. He becomes more humble and down to earth. He learns what it truly means to work for something and feel good about how you do because you earned it. In the end I adored him again just had to deal with how he left things at the beginning.
And when he is ready he faces Jake and begins to get that relationship back. He doesn’t go in all cocky but very tentative and shows Jake the new Bishop. He woos him and makes him feel loved and adored. He treats Jake like a king. We see them build up a relationship and relearn about one another. They become each other’s rock and support. Their love knows no bounds and they appreciate one another more after what they went through to get to be together.
A wonderful story on self discovery and crawling up from the bottom. ON love and family, support and friendship.
We met Bishop Royal in Jax and Bentley's story. Jax and Bishop have a bit of a hate/hate relationship. No love lost there. When Bishop gets fired from the team, he heads home to Auckland. For him home is Jake, his best friend, and the man he has be secretly in love with for years. But Bishop's dad is the whole reason he hides his true self. When he decides enough is enough, and chooses Jake over his father, he feels free for the first time. When he wakes up the next morning and Jake is gone, Bishop is crushed, even though Jake's reasons are very valid. Now Bishop has to work on himself if he wants to get Jake back... the question is how bad does he want him back?
So before anything else, what was up with chapter 27? Was this out of place? If this wasn't then it makes no sense at all! Now, not knowing if that was a mistake or not, I did have to let that factor into my rating. I was really excited for the Bishop's story, it was the whole reason I signed up to read this series. There was more about Bishop without Jake than it was Bishop and Jake. Totally understand that he had to work on himself and what not, but I felt there was too much of Bishop working on himself, (or not working on himself, as he was a bit self-destructive at first). The times with Jake were fleeting and fast, and I didn't really get a connection between the two. In fact there was soo much with Bishop and Kyle that I just assumed that was where the story was going. Anywho, I'm rambling, um... the drama was high, lots of drug use in this one, and the sexy time was ok. I give this 3 stars.
This is a new-to-me author so I wasn't sure what to expect. I hadn't read any of the other books in this series but this reads as a total standalone. I didn't feel lost, confused or like something was missing.
Immediately Bishop had my hackles up. I was on the fence if I liked him or not. His whole attitude was just completely shitty and arrogant. There are certainly lots of issues he needed to work through. This was an okay read for me. I mostly read M/M books these days and to me there just wasn't enough M/M going on in this book.
Megan Lowe had a great story line however it fell flat for me. You have two best friends who both harboured feelings for the other for years. You have one struggling with getting his life on the right track. A discovery of ones self and more yet none of these had any type of pivotal moment that wowed me or drew any type of emotion.
This was a quick read with very little angst or drama. I would've like to see more depth, emotion and more of Bishop and Jake as an actual couple. This would make a good story for those who need a starter in the M/M genre. It's very low key and not as hot and heavy. It's well written and the characters have great development.

This is a new author to me and I wanted to try her out and what more perfect book than a M/M romance. There were some pretty heavy subject matters that were discussed in this book and I just feel that this author didn’t give the time to truly develop each of those matters. But having said that it was a truly beautiful book. To lost souls, one more lost than the other finding the way back to each other. Bishop loses his way with drugs, sex and alcohol when his life gets turned upside down. Jake has loved Bishop for a long time, but has never acted on those feelings. Bishop knows how Jake feels about him and when his life suddenly hits rock-bottom he feels he has nothing to lose but tell Jake how he feels. Will they get their happily ever after, especially since Bishop’s father is homophobic? Can Bishop coincide the two worlds he is living in?

Here's my review for LibraryThing Early Reviewers: I'm new to the genre of romance, but I was excited to take this one out for a spin. It was a quick read but very enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of books that focus so heavily on coming out, so I appreciated that while it definitely was a major plot point--the story was well-developed beyond just that. Queer folks deserve stories about our lives that don't just focus on coming out! I also really liked the longtime chemistry between Bishop and Jake--their feelings run deep but at no point did it ring false or feel over the top. The author Lowe doesn't box them into labels like top or bottom while at the same time there wasn't a need to over-assert their masculinity. It's a nice change to read about some non-toxic (or tender) masculinity as the protagonists work through their lives and feelings. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who's looking for some fun queer romance!
This was a harder story to rate as I did love the writing but my feelings were conflicted about Bishop. See, he and Jake are best friends, who have feelings for each other, but Bishop can't admit to them, because of his father so he does all kinds of douchey things. Jake has been in love with him for years, being hurt while watching him with girls, so you can imagine this wasn't a walk in the park kind of romance story, but a gritty one that makes you want to scream loudly. It deals with more than just a coming out party, there are serious issues, and the talented Megan Lowe wrote them realistically in my opinion. It hit hard, and it had me all kinds of emotional, but it had my heart hurting for Bishop by the end, which is something that I didn't think would happen, because I wasn't a fan of his for a lot of the story. All I Want was another great story in the Rocking Racers series that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
