He’s leaving Glacium. Rhone has always been an outcast. Life in the castle may come with a soft bed and regular food, but that's the only difference he can see from the childhood he spent in the gutter. The assembly fear him. Rhone exists on the fringes of their friendship.
He could have handled that yesterday.
Rhone doesn’t know where he’s going, what his journey will lead to, or if he’ll ever return to the people who can barely tolerate his presence. He is purposeless and alone . . . or would be if the Ire woman with the stupid magnifying eye contraption would take a hint.
Will he always feel ill-equipped because of where he’s from?
Rhone doesn’t want to live as he has been.
He’s at a loss of how to change.
PLEASE NOTE: Rhone is part of a companion novella series and is designed to be read after books 1-4 in The Tainted Accords.

This was the novella I was the least excited for and it turned out to be my fav. Rhone said probably three words the entire Tainted Accords series so to say I did not care about this man is an understatement. HOWEVER, Monikah was amazing!!
She's an inventor and I loved all her harebrained ideas, how much she annoyed Rhone, and her being so brilliant but so endearing. I wish I could read a whole book about her. She made Rhone so much more fun and I love that the Ire was her muse bc I've always thought the floating islands are where it's at. I'm so glad her and Rhone will make it their permanent home.
Rhone was in love with Olina, and I failed to be convinced by the transference of his love to Monikah. She felt like a rebound and I'm not here for that - particularly since he seemed to still have lingering feelings for Olina.
I've been waiting for Rhone's book for a while. He's a character that has intrigued me since about half way through the first Tainted Accords book and I knew straight away he was a character I wanted to know more about and delve into his secrets and discover what I could about him. So when I heard the author was going to write a novella for him I was excited and knew it was a book I'd pick up straight on release.
This book was a great read. From the first page I was shocked about what was revealed. I wasn't expecting that and it has made me want to go back and re read the whole series again from a whole new perspective. I loved reading the book from Rhone's POV. I finally got to discover all that I wanted about him and we got to see him in a new light. For me as a reader who has been so intrigued by him from the main series, him getting his own book has been a wonderful read for me. It's not just about Rhone in this book though, we also get Monikah's (a brand new character) POV. She is a great character and she made me laugh. She's a great fit for Rhone and I really loved reading about her. This is a story that I could've happily read more of. I'm secretly hoping that the author will write more of a story for Rhone and Monikah as not only do I love this whole series and the world it's set in but I love these two characters.
Rhone is a five star read for me. I really enjoyed reading this book and the if you loved The Tainted Accords series then this is a must read.
The novella I didn’t know I needed. If you’re a fan of fantasy of frost series you won’t want to miss this one. I don’t think you’ll enjoy it if you haven’t read the series because it’s set after the series is over. But I love the fantasy of frost series, so go check it out.
“Rhone,” she said, biting her lip. “Urchin,” he said, matching her seriousness. She smiled at him. “Thank you for leaving the pear.” He looked at her sparkling eyes. “Thank you for saving my life.”
This was definitely the best novella in this series that I have read so far. I loved it so so so much. Monikah is so adorable and quirky and I just love her so much and she is definitely the perfect match for Rhone. Rhone is a completely different person around her and he can't seem to help but soften as soon as shes around. I loved the premise of this one even though I wasn't so sure with the book at the beginning, I never should have doubted Clare. She really knows how to round off a book and just make you fall in love with all of the characters she creates.
Sanjay stood and put the table between them as a buffer before saying, “Rhone, my friend, there are two types of screwing: one that the woman enjoys, and one that they don’t. Guess which one you just did?”
The best part of this book, without a doubt, is the relationship between Rhone and Monikah. Its just so adorable and I loved being able to watch Rhone lower his guard. Well to be honest Monikah kind of crept under his guard rather than Rhone letting his guard down, haha. However watching how jealous and protective Rhone gets over Monikah just made my heart explode.
This novella in the series was only okay for me. I don’t think it delved enough into Rhone’s backstory for me and I was a bit surprised by his sudden switch of affection. Maybe I wanted more of a relationship build which I know is hard in such a short story. I have always be interested in Rhone and aware of his unrequited feelings so I was glad he got a happy ending.

I loved this! I liked Rhone in the Tainted Accords series but in this novella I really got to know him. This was well written and did not disappoint! Ok, but how did I miss his original feelings in the TA series? I'm glad his story went the way it did and this one is definitely my favorite of the novellas now!
ERHMERGERH the first chapter RIPPED MY HEART OUT I HAVE NO HEART NOW. KELLY ST. CLARE RIPPED IT OUT.
In a way chapter one gutted me more than anything else in this series. And OMG his "misery walk" Ahaha. [Monikah the name just ANNOYS me - which I 100% get is a personal issue ... so ugh I can't help it I just don't like it.] I also don't really think the relationship was ESTABLISHED so much as PRESENTED but ... I get this is a novella.
However - I LOVE that Rhone "gets" Monikah because of his grandmother. That she also helps provide him with closure - that he gets jealous - that he courts her "secretly" - BUT THEY DIDN'T DANCE. WHAT HAPPENED THERE, HUH?! And how he's jealous of Adnan.
With Leo omg I KNEW that's what would happen but it broke my heart still to a degree.
I looooooove how Rhone is like "oh shit" when he encounters Olina ... I don't like how she turns into the bad actor cuz like ... MY DUDE. THIS WAS NOT HER FAULT. Come on now! And shifting blame to her was shitty by all players - very badly done there. I also don't know if Jovan just IS kinda an asshole? [Not ... too surprising for a king?] But it kinda felt like that came a BIT out of left field. (I think I really really REALLY didn't like Jovan ~banishing Rhone. Shitty petty little bitch boy move... especially with Roscoe just be like "ohai this is what's up." NO, GUY. SPEAK UP AND OUT TO INJUSTICE.) ... Granted Rhone had to go to meet Monikah. Still.
MISERY WALK. I'd L O V E to see how the tri-world game(s) go.
With Malt - I guess there was no point in Rhone kicking his ass but I kinda think even his shit life was too good for what he did to poor Rhone. And the PAINTINGS. omg! My HEART.
I really liked Rhone in the Fantasy of Frost series so I'm glad I got to read more about Rhone's and I enjoyed his short story and I got to see a sneak peak at some of the other characters I was looking forward to seeing in the story..I liked Monikah and I love how she was able to get Rhone out of his bubble..it was a cute story.. !!!!!!Spoiler Alerts below!!!! (Why I gave it for out of five stars) For one thing I don't like how he was bashing on Lina..like hell no boy!! How was she supposed to know you showed any interest of her when alllll he really ever did was grunt and snort at her in the Fantasy of Frost series!! I feel all the short lil clips in this Tri-world series all of them had a problem with Olina and the only one who was justified was Olandon because they are sibling and she left him in a tuff spot..Like really though Rhone never had conversation with Lina about his feelings Sooo yea how is he ever gonna get true closure even though he fell in love again he should just throw his friendship away because his feelings weren't reciprocated.. That's just juvenile. I also like Monikah and I liked how she was able to get Rhone from saying more than two words but she was a little too childish making me feel like she was too young, which made the story feel a little too juvenile also.. other than that I did like this story
ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME?! TWO sentences in & my brain EXPLODED.
Rhone had very little part in this series, aside from Olina's high opinion of him and the few sentences they spoke to each other. So, I really didn't know what to expect from his own whole-ass novella. But...in the name of plot twists, what the hell. How did I miss the signs? Were there signs?! Holy hell.
I loved The Tainted Accords, and I've greedily devoured every novella Kelly St. Clare has put out since the series ended. Just the chance to immerse myself in the rich worlds of her creation is more than worth the measly price of the bok.
Rhone was one of the more stoic and mysterious of the many characters to populate the TA series, but I always sensed there was something far deeper and intriguing than he let on. In this book, we find out what makes the silent giant tick.
With Queen Olina happily married and pregnant, Rhone is forced the swallow the love that will forever be unrequited and reexamine his life. With no clear plan, he makes his way to the Oscola, the rocky stairway that bridges the two worlds of Osolis and Glacium. Once there, he meets Monikah, a budding inventor with a quirky personality and an intelligence to match.
The chemistry between the two doesn't materialize right away, but once it does, we suspect that maybe, just maybe, Rhone can find his place in this new era. We learn much about his past, and how he came to be the man he is.
If you loved The Tainted Accords (and how could you not?), this is yet another great companion piece to the series. You don't want to miss out!
I read this short story of a series of four books without having read the main one and I loved it because I didn't feel lost because of the lack of information, although I admit that in some things I lacked information.
I liked the character of Rhone, a troubled man with no place in Glacium who was dedicated only to doing his job. His childhood and the way he ended up in the castle set his course in life without expecting anything from it. In love with a woman who could never be his, a journey of recovery led him into the arms of the one who would see him.
Monikah is adorable. Her absent-mindedness, carelessness and wit make her a woman with strange qualities, but ones Rhone didn't know he was looking for in a companion.
Amidst confusions, absent-mindedness, little fears and surrounded by people he didn't consider friends, but were, the two fall in love and find their place in this somewhat strange world.
I loved that they chose to live in Ire and are now respected and valued for what they bring to the town.
When I thought of character's who stories I wanted, I thought of Sin, Olandon and Shard. Rhones wasn't high on my list but boy was did I do him an injustice. Shard's novella is still to come but of the novellas we have so far, this is my favorite.
On reading the first sentence or two I had a huge I KNEW IT moment. Soon followed by Jovan when did you turn into such a jerk. I loved learning about Rhone's childhood and how it shaped him and left him in a unique space to understand Monikah. I like how Monikah is different then some of the other women we have had in this universe before. It is great to see a variety of people and how all of them can be strong women in their own ways.
I also really enjoyed the themes of this novel around finding your passion, compassion to others. How hurtful and damaging bullying can be. Why not a five? Just felt like it the relationship moved a little to fast on Rhone's side and I am really stingy with my fives.
Out of all the novellas I was looking forward to reading Rhone's the most. What can I say, I have a weakness for the broody quiet guys. Like Olina, I had no idea Rhone was in love with her. I thought he liked her as a good friend and nothing more. Maybe I missed something... he had been watching her closely enough to recognize her as Frost, so maybe that was a hint.
Monikah has been my favourite heroine from the series of novellas (so far... I only have Arla next so I'm confident she will remain so). She's smart, cute and funny. She makes Rhone laugh and come out of his shell more. My only complaint is that as a novella the story is too short. I would have liked this to be a longer slow burn, because his feelings towards her developed too quickly for someone that was hopelessly in love with someone else. Still it's a good read if you like Rhone and it's satisfying that he has his own HEA.
I love the Tainted Accords series. There's drama and love and war and it's just so well written. I can't even remember how many times I've re-read it. As always, revisiting the series is a delight. This novella in particular as Rhone is a silent and mysterious side character whose brain I'd always wanted to get inside. We learn a lot about him, what makes him tick and even who he loves (reference to getting sucked in at page one) which was a surprise. All in all, I love the series, I love the novellas, and please do yourself a favor and read them.
Finished it in one night (a really long night since I stayed up until 3 but still one night). I love this series. I felt his own heartbreak when he talked about his broken heart, but then I remembered Joven and I snapped myself out of it. Joven and Lina will forever be my favorite couple. Just realized that the tainted accords have been titled a romance series (including all the 4.*s) which explains always finding a significant other in the end. Hope that's not a big spoiler, kinda obvious is you've already read all the other book endings. I'm tired so a short review will have to be enough to suffice.
I Had No Idea About Rhone!😲💔😢👑💘🔥🐾🐾 Such A Cute Story.😍💘🔥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Rhone (The Tainted Accords Novella, #4.7)
Rhone had been hiding a secret but the King knew & wasn't pleased.😢 He leaves to decide what to do with the rest of his life & decides crossing the Great Stairway will give him time to think & recover.🙏 A soar rider spots him & starts talking to him. He looses his temper & sends them away in anger.😔
I thought Monikher was fantastically smart, witty & caring. I was taken by Rhone's surprise, I wasn't expecting it at all. Rhone's childhood broke my heart.💔 I thoroughly enjoyed this couple's journey to finding companionship & love.💘🔥🌟
So far we have seen Rhone has strong and silent. But he has so much to say - my heart broke for young Rhone, I rooted for growing up Rhone and it was so much fun to see him with the flying girl who some might call crazy and over the top but who has her heart in exactely the right place! Their story was so cute and very enjoyable and I really liked reading long. My favorite scene is the one with the Queen's picture... but there are so many more. I can't say Goodbye to the Tri-world Accord world... I just can't. Thankfully there will be more to come!
Rhone = swoon!!!! I’ve been longing for this novella for so long! I always loved Rhone‘s character in TTAs and I’ve been eager to get to know him better, to say my jaw was hanging open by the time I got to page two would be an understatement lol - talk about an opener....oh boy fans of the series are gonna freak!!! I loved the whole story and as with all the previous novellas I just wanted it to be longer because I love going on adventures in this world. Can’t wait to see who gets the next novella. Rhone gets 5 stars from me 😍
Kelly St Clare was not kidding when she said that the first line of this novella would cause us "to look back at The Tainted Accords series with new eyes." After getting this intimate view of Rhone as a character I will be rereading the Tainted Accords yet again (this is becoming an enjoyable habit with each new installment). I believe this is the best addition to the world of The Tainted Accords yet and has further contributed to giving both it and its characters an even richer depth of color and realness.
One of the things that I loved most about this novella is that Rhone healed. I won't say what from, because I don't want to spoil anything, but that's one of the things that I like in the books I read. That, and people gradually falling in love when they never see it coming. I'm my opinion, I liked Sin better, though Rhone is probably the second best so far. Anyway, my point is that this is a great book! I will definitely re-read the tainted accords though, if only to try to catch his feelings for Lina.
I enjoyed this novella as much as the others. The only thing I did not like was that Jovan was written as too much of a douchebag. I'm glad though that Rhone finally found someone. I like Monika's quirkiness. I understand it's a novella, but I wish it was longer so that the romance would build up a bit more. It felt like one minute he was on love with Olina and the next, he moved on Monika. It seemed more of a rebound. But anyway, I like this addition to the series, since I've found it very difficult to get over my book hangover.
I really enjoyed reading more about Rhône, I do have to say I never picked up on his love for a certain person. I wondered if it was more respect than love?
I am very happy he ended up with a certain person who he understood, and she understood him.
I loved the tainted accords and I am so happy to read about a few of my favorite characters. I do hope she writes about a few others!
I liked getting to know Rhone better. I feel like he was present in the main series, but we didn't always get a lot of interaction with him since he rarely spoke. I never guessed his feelings...
I liked his relationship with Monikah. I feel like things were a little rushed, but I feel like that's the nature of a novella. I still liked the story and I am glad that Rhone finally found his place in the world. I also enjoyed seeing the other characters together.
Poor Rhone was struggling with unrequited love. So he went on a journey to reconcile his feelings. While on this journey he found himself and the most amazing woman.
Rhone’s story was so much fun! Monikah is his complete opposite. The drama she added to the stoic Rhone’s life was hilarious. I really enjoyed this read.
I love the Tainted Accords series, but my heart has always gone out to Rhone, and I am so happy we got to see his story. It totally changed the way I read the TA series so of course I am going to read it again, Thank you Kelly for once again taking us back to the best three worlds. Thank you for giving Rhone his spotlight
I absolutely loved this novella! Rhone was my favorite delegate member from the start and I enjoyed seeing into his world and inner workings. It was great to see what has shaped him and I enjoyed seeing his HEA. This was the novella I had been waiting for ...totally worth the wait.
This was such a beautifully written story. I couldn’t stop reading how Rhone, a tough man, became who he is. Up until he met Monikah, the urchin, he tries really hard to keep people out. After their first kiss, Rhone travels to find redemption for his past, instead finds an inner peace. This book is a wonderful addition to the Tainted Accords book series.
