A letter to Rod Stewart resulting in a Cinderella birthday for her daughter sowed the seeds of New York Times and USAToday bestselling author Jean Brashear's writing career. A lifelong avid reader, at the age of forty-five with no experience and no training, she decided to see if she could write a book. It was a wild leap that turned her whole life upside down, but she would tell you that though she's never been more terrified, she's never felt more exhilarated or more alive. She's an ardent proponent of not putting off your dreams until that elusive 'someday'—take that leap now.

Over fifty published novels later, the five-time RITA finalist and RTBookReviews Career Achievement Award winner has accumulated a whole passel of war stories to swap and loves nothing better than talking writing and books with readers and fellow writers.

And she'd still take that leap, war wounds and all.

So enjoyable! I like this while this series does have the common thread of three separated sisters, each book truly stands alone with its own unique story. Saint and Clarice are forced together in a professional capacity, but it quickly becomes obvious that the attraction can't be denied. Clarice is a great heroine, and I enjoyed going along on her journey of self-discovery. Her strength and determination definitely shines by the end, and I really respected her. Saint is clearly a good cop even though others are gunning for him. He does have a little bit of a rogue edge, but it is obvious that he is a good guy. I really liked Saint and Clarice together and thought they brought out the best in each other. The plot was dynamic and kept me engaged. Seeing the sisters all reunited was truly heartwarming and those scenes were really emotional. My only complaint is that I still felt like I wanted to know more about Saint and his past. But overall this was still a very enjoyable book. 4.5 stars!

Good read

She's never been comfortable the way her parent's want her to be.....then she meets him and wants to feel passion and finds out she's adopted. He's a cop under investigation and she's the department's psychologist. No one wants her to be around him, but she knows he needs help. And the sparks fly. Some humor, some hot foreplay and hot sex, some romance, and some danger. Highly recommend.

Texas Lost

Lots of action in this story. Saint, a detective out on leave because of a shooting, meets Clarice, the department shrink, when he to see her to get clearance to return to work. He falls hard for her but knows he can never have her as he is the son of a whore and she is from a wealthy, elite family. Can they work it out?

HEA, Strong Characters

I wanted a bit more... More about the sisters reunion, more about the departments apology/ dropped charges, more about Clarices recovery/return to her job. There had to be fallout. Overall it is a good read. Jean Brashear is a captivating author.

An excellent read

A terrific romance, surprisingly clean, with a bit of suspense had me glued to the pages. The characters are very well written and the story has a few unexpected twists. This is a tie for my favorite of the series so far. Can't wait to dive into the next!

I love it when a story keeps me guessing about the twists and turns. The HEA is a given for this author but she makes you work for it. And this story was no exception. This completes the stories of the three sisters separated years ago but you don’t have to read the other stories first for this one to make sense. I like that you can pick up a book, read it and then also go back to previous ones if you want to learn the full story.

A profiler and a detective on the police force don’t usually have a connection besides a case but Clarice Sutton and Saint Valdez never do what anyone thinks they should be doing. And they really butt heads at first. He needs her to clear him to work so he can prove his innocence. What he doesn’t need is to be attracted to the doctor and let that interfere with his concentration. She has always tried to make sure to do the right thing and not draw attention to herself. Both of them fail in this case and the heat explodes between them.

Several twists and turns that you don’t expect but it does finally come together! Wish the story were longer and had expanded the reconnection with her sisters but in all, it was a wonderful story with reality thrown in for a change.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for this review.

Clarice Sutton has led a privileged life. Everything she has ever wanted, she got. Now her parents aren't pleased with her because she is taking her degree and doing something with it. She is working as a police psychologist. Detective Valdez has been told to see her after a shooting. From the moment they officially meet, sparks are flying. He knows she is out of his league but his body is not getting the message. In a blink of an eye, all that changes. Everything she has know about her life is not true. Does she have the courage to fight for what she wants? Will she be able to convince Saint that they were made to be together? Once you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down.

Clarice Sutton’s future should have been mapped out for her. The only daughter of successful, society parents, the girlfriend of an up and coming public servant. What else could she want? But she did want more (or is it different?). Clarice has taken a job as police department psychologist, much to her family’s dismay, but she finds satisfaction in her job. When she is assigned Saint as a client after he kills a suspect, they each feel instant attraction, but also a sense of respect and connection with the other.
As the noose tightens around Saint, Clarice’s sense that he is a good man trying to right past wrongs grows.

This story is one of change and becoming more, of finding and holding on to family and love when it is hard and perhaps dangerous.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Secrets, mystery, intrigue, action, and suspense throughout the book. Let us not forget romance.

Saint and Clarice are so different, yet share something neither are quite aware of when they first meet.

When she found out about her father, I was not expecting that twist. I appreciated that when Clarice's world was knocked off of its axis, it was Saint she ran to for comfort.

I was also surprised when finding out the "who" in the "who dun it?" I expected something completely different.

This makes me want to re-read Texas Healer and Texas Deception.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Clarice and Saint I loved their story. Clarice is a a psychologist for the Police Department while Saint is a detective. Saint as killed a man who deserved what he got but now must be cleared for duty by Clarice. She sees something Saint is trying to keep buried that is haunting him and attempt to get him to open up. Meanwhile Clarice’s own parents are keeping their own secret which when revealed to her will turn her life upside down. Jean Brashear is one of my very favorite authors. Her stories are always awesome full or warmth as well as wonderful plots to keep you turning pages. I am so eagerly waiting for her next book. I am freely and happily reviewing this book.

Excellent third installment in the story of three sisters separated when their mother died. I loved the main characters and hated the "bad guys". Clarice was an extremely sympathetic character as she was a people pleaser, that is until she meets Saint and decides that it is time to be her own person.
This book is one of the more gritty I have read by this author, but I enjoyed it as much as her lighter fair. There are several surprises along the way which will keep the reader interested.
This book is a stand-alone, but I would recommend the first two in the series.
I received an ARC of this book and offer this review to other readers as my own opinion of the book's content.

I'm so very glad Jean Brashear is an author! This is one more terrific book in the Texas Heroes Series, and Lone Star Lovers Book Set. When I read this book, I'm immediately drawn into the story. Great character development and story line. There's a mix of suspense and romance. Clarice and Saint are strong characters who are on an emotional roller coaster. I can't give anything away on events in the story, just suffice it to say, I highly recommend this book! I've read many, many books by this author, and somehow each one seems to be awesome. But this is one of my new favorites! Now, go grab your copy of this book!
I received an ARC and have chosen to provide my honest review.

This was a truly outstanding book. It has a touch of everything. Mystery, suspense, action, and a nice slow build romance. Saint and Clarice are complete opposites in personality as well as coming from two different worlds yet you can see immediately how well they work together. With his career in her hands Saint has to fight his fierce attraction and pull to Clarice. Yet when her own life implodes she turns to him and there is no way he can refuse her.

This book is very well written and these characters are captivating. Definitely a book I recommend.

Saint is a detective who takes down what he calls a predator who deserves what he got. She is a psychologist who they say he must talk to in order to return to work. They hit it off better than either thought they would. But she finds out something devastating from her parents. Not sure how to take that she turns to Saint. This is one you really want to read. Grab your coffee, tea or whatever and curl up and enjoy the ride. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Rather than tell you the story, you can read that in the synopsis of the book, I will tell you my impressions. Jean Brashear never fails to deliver a well written story. As with all her books I've read, the characters seem to come to life. You can't help but react to their joys and sorrows and root for a happy outcome. If you have read Jean Brashear's other novels you will love this one. If you are new to this author, you will not be disappointed.
