This is interesting and I think essential reading, but in my opinion it's marred by bad choices in editing, layout, footnotes, end-notes, and general inelegance, all of which makes it less accessible, which is a shame, because it's important, and I expect more of Johns Hopkins University Press.
But read it anyway. Read it for the measles stories alone: measles used to kill more than 3 million people a year. Since intensive vaccination programs, it's down to about 100,000, and public health operatives are working hard on that.
