Sigh... I loved this story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stacey Kennedy is one of those authors that I know will give me a fabulous story with plenty of heat, spice, and sexy men. This book is a perfect example.
I absolutely loved the characters in the story. I found myself smiling throughout the entire book because these two are just so damn perfect for each other. They were kind and loving, not just to each other but to others around them as well. Heck, even his mother was a sweetheart.
This book has an amazing sensual feeling too. With the hot flavor of light BDSM surrounding just a beautiful feeling of true like for someone else, it just leaves you wishing you could find that perfect scenario for your life too.
Beautiful story, sexy scenes that will make you sweat a bit, and a fabulous ending that will make you smile for days! So Much love for this book! Sigh...
What a beautiful surprise!
I must confess, i was expecting some really hot political erotic story, but instead i got a heartfel one, full of emotion and wisdom, with a,azing characters and a perfectly put together plot.
Yes, this book is about a Dom Senator of NY who finds himself a submissive through an app Tinder-like and yes, they have panty-melting-everything-on-fire sex, BUT i couldn’t focus on that. I might even forget this part.
I will, however, remember the heroine being strong, smart, sassy, lovely and with such an inspiring way of seeing life. The hero is just as wonderful. Not a selfish bone in his body, alpha when needed, warm and funny too, thoughtful and very close to gain the Prince Charming title.
Something to remember:
“Moments made up a life. Some good. Some bad. But in the end, it was a combination of the two that made a person who they were.”
Despite our main characters going into a non committed arrangement, the author did a good job of making it feel like we got a to see Olivia and Noah in a true relationship from the very beginning.
Noah seemed to know right off that Olivia was different. I like how he didn't shy away from that even while he still had reservations about bringing anyone into his political lifestyle. I actually really liked his character. He came off as very mature. He never played games and he treated Olivia very well.
Olivia had more of an innocence about her which worked well since she signed up to be Noah's submissive for a week. She also came off as a more mature character. I really like how both of them behaved and steered clear of unnecessary drama.
This was very good but it also felt too short. I would have loved to see more to the story with these two. This is great for when you want something quick. ARC provided by NetGalley.
Noah and Olivia had sparks and chemistry from their first meeting, and he sure knew how to use some toys. He was almost to sweet to be dominant. He ex needs a bloody nose and two black eyes. Her BFF, Paige, was hilarious. I don't think anyone will ever tame her. I didn't get the title. It just didn't fit the book.
The climax of this story could have been 100% better. And there wasn't enough tension to keep the book interesting to me I did finish it but did not like it. The 2 stars are from the hot sex.
Kennedy Fan! Perfectly Inappropriate is a winner. Olivia Watts needs a change in her life to overcome a heartbreak relationship. Noah Grant is a dominant giving her a week of his time to turn her life around. The chemistry is explosive between these two. A MUST PUT ON YOUR SHELF author who causes fingers to read rapidly but causes a let down at the end knowing the story is over. Not to be missed healing story. WOW ... perfectly sweet and spicy all rolled up with a huge heart. I shouldn't even be surprised tho because this author does those things really well on a consistent basis. I mean this story was just delicious! I could not get enough of Olivia and Noah, apart or together. They were beautiful people.
There are very few authors that I can say with 100% certainty, that when I turn to one of their books, I'm going to feel happy and satisfied after reading their words. Stacey Kennedy is one of those authors. You get the sexy. You get the heart. You get the growth and you get the HEA :) Always. *sigh* I wish she could read faster LOL
What a great read this book is! I'm a huge fan of Stacey's books and this book was a nice little read with plenty of steam, romance and spark. I really needed something a little lighter and this fit the bill perfectly.
You read the blurb, so I'll save you that. This story is about an app for doms to meet subs. When Olivia decides after a horrible end to a long term relationship that she needs to do something "perfectly inappropriate" because she sees herself as boring and average, she signs up for the app. Encouraged by her best friend Paige, who is a wild child and Olivia's biggest cheerleader and oh, instigator; she meets with her prospective one week only dom. Noah is a Senator and wealthy businessman, he comes from a political family, so he knows the ropes. He chooses this method to keep his privacy allowing him to live the lifestyle he choses a bit more discreetly. He loves his political career and finds little time or desire for a relationship, until he meets Olivia. What a tease it is to watch their relationship develop and nice to watch Noah more than just a little interested in Olivia. This book has raging chemistry but very light on the BDSM, and the perfect amount of smoking hot sex. Noah still falls into role and so does Olivia. These two are the best match. They actually converse! What a novel idea in a book! It was so blasted refreshing to read. There are a couple of snags in our lovely duo's story, her ex who causes a problem for her which in turn causes a problem for Noah. I had to shift into neutral at that point and hold out hope for these two but Stacey likes to leave you dangling until the last pages for a clue! The short story is, this is a great read and one I'd read again. It's a must read.
Perfectly Inappropriately by Stacey Kennedy, is one super hot read. I have a few books on my want to read list by this author, but for one reason or another just haven't found the time to read one of them. Now that I have read this book I am kicking myself for not reading one of her books sooner. This book has definitely made me a fan of Stacey Kennedy.
Olivia Watts is the proverbial good girl, always making the right decisions, engaged to her high school sweetheart, in a job that she really doesn't like, but it pays the bills and what does all that goodness get her…..heartbreak. So what's a good girl to do, well of course fulfill a dark fantasy.
Noah Grant was raised in a wealthy political family, and is now a beloved U.S. senator, with a bit of a dark side that he must hide from the public. He is not looking for a relationship, he has tried that and it didn't work. His goal now, being totally focused on his political career and getting reelected.
Olivia stumbles on an exclusive app, that puts doms and subs together. And ohh my, from their first meeting the chemistry between them is off the charts. Stacey Kennedy can really write some steamy scenes. There are some BDSM scenes in this book, but I would consider them to be on the light side of the spectrum. I just loved the way Ms. Kennedy slowly develops the relationship between Noah and Olivia. Yes, there were some very erotic aspects of their relationship but there was also a softer romantic mood to this book.
I also enjoyed the secondary characters in this book, Paige, Lacie and Cameron. They of course added to some of the delicious conflict. I would love to read a story about Paige, maybe getting together with “Noah’s Driver”. Finally, I love a book with a good epilogue, and this book had a great one.
So, if you are looking for a fast paced book that is spicy and sweet, you have found your next read. I for one will be reading more of Stacey Kennedy. Happy Reading!
After finding her fiancée with another woman, Olivia takes the leap into one of her private desires and signs up for a “dating” site that connects subs and doms. She’s looking for something to help make her feel whole again, to feel herself, to help find that part that she lost so long ago. When she is connected with Noah, things instantly click for them both and soon all the rules that were set at the beginning are quickly being tossed aside as they create their own rules together.
I’m not a huge fan of BDSM, but I am a fan of this author and I wanted to take a chance on this book. I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved the level of intensity between Olivia and Noah, the natural rhythm of their relationship and their ability to give each other what they were lacking. Not just sexually, but emotionally. The BDSM took a backseat in my opinion and didn’t bother me in the least. If anything, it proved to be the catalyst that brought Olivia to the place where she was able to stand on her own and take what she wanted from life.
This is a fast paced read with plenty of steam and the secondary characters were perfect in their roles. I actually hope to see Olivia’s friend Paige in her own story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Random House - Loveswept. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Stacey Kennedy really knows how to raise the temperature.
This was, one super HOT🌡 and steamy read.
Initially I couldn't understand the attraction between Noah and Olivia other than the superficial but as the book progressed I realized that it was their differences that appealed to each other.
Olivia had a positive outlook and appreciation for the simpler things in life and Noah showed a lot of sensitivity and kindness towards Olivia (while she was still recovering from the fallout of a nasty relationship split). Her ex, Cameron certainly was a piece of work.
Noah however, didn't come across to me as a typical dominant (except in the bedroom)- he just seemed so sweet but Olivia's BFF Paige was an absolute riot (totally wild and hilarious) I loved their friendship.
I definitely enjoyed the second half of this book a lot more for some reason.
This is my 7th Stacey Kennedy book and while this may not necessarily be my favorite read by her I still enjoyed this standalone with bdsm overtones. 💕
What do you do when catch your future husband cheating with your maid of honor before the wedding? For Olivia she wants something that will bring back her self worth. And she feels that giving in to her kinky side will do that. While out with her best friend Paige, she accepts a card from a stranger to join an app to get to other like minded people. Maybe this will get her over the heartbreak and move her forward in the life she deserves.
Noah Grant is not the type of man for relationships, he is only looking to keep his career on track. Being part of the app that lets him explore is desire for BDSM without the strings of attachment works well for him. So when he meets Olivia, he knows there is something different about her and he wants to change his rules for her. When he learns of the betrayal she has gone through, he wants to protect her and make her happy.
Can Noah and Olivia spend their short time together without being feelings in to the mix? Can Noah let her go when the time comes? Will Olivia be able to move on without Noah? Will her ex show up and cause more problems?
I love Stacey Kennedy and her writing style is always one I love to read. She has a way of drawing you into a story and not letting you go until the end. I loved everything about Noah and Olivia and I hope you love it too.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
I really enjoyed meeting Noah and Olivia, and watching their chemistry rule their heads and their hearts. It was clear from the beginning that rules were made to be broken in this story. Add in the fabulous Paige as Olivia’s best friend and the skeptical Jared as Noah’s security detail, and the stage is set.
It was a fun way to introduce the BDSM idea via her interest gained from books, and her innocence, yet superficial knowledge was dealt with well by Noah. I obviously wanted them to work out that a week was far too short a time for what was clearly a romance in the making, and so had a big smile on my face by the end.
Stacey Kennedy writes absolutely amazing books and I seriously could not read this book fast enough. Noah was very sexy and his chemistry with Olivia was very steamy. I loved the banter and the fiery passion and could not get enough!
When Olivia Watts decides to run a little on the wild side after a failed engagement with a cheating fiancé, she has no idea what she is in for when she decides to give a dating app that matches subs with doms. She meets Noah Grant and is honestly swept away by this dominant and sexy politician.
Gah!! I thought this story was hot and passionate with an emotional twist. I loved this so much! I would like to thank Loveswept for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Bravo! 4 Stars! ~Ratula
So full of Heat and Heart💚💙
This read had me tuned in and turned on.
Fate plays a huge part in life and Olivia, thankfully got out of a rut to find herself, due to a fateful afternoon.
The chemistry between her and Noah was crackling from the pages. Again fate takes over and what starts as fun ends up being taken very much deeper, but with obstacles so there are issues.
The whole journey touches on all emotions and the HEA is big happy sigh from me.
Perfectly Inappropriate is perfectly appropriate for fans of Vi Keeland and Penelope Douglas. At first, I was nervous reading this book, I was like: “Oh no another 50 Shades kind of thing?” But man...who wouldn’t want to keep reading after Noah is introduced. I vote Noah Grant as the next best book boyfriend!
This story is so frickin hot! Stacey is dependable when it comes to writing steamy and downright sexy scenes. Here domineering heroes and sassy and passionate heroines are always brimming with chemistry. Upon catching her fiance cheating with one of her best friends, Olivia is determined to move on. At the advance of her other best friend, she signs up for an online hookup app for doms and subs called Sir (#signmeUP). Who does Olivia match to but powerful politician Noah Grant. Steeped in secrecy and rules, Noah is entranced with Olivia from the moment they meet. But he only allows one week with his subs before he moves on; its best not to go in with untrue intentions. And right away it seems Noah may want more than just a nightly, kinky fling.
Noah prides himself of his ability to stay aloof with his subs. His main focus is his political career; its what he's spent his entire life working towards. His secret life within the world of BDSM is his outlet from the stress. But Olivia is the biggest temptation he's felt in a long time. Headstrong and yearning to learn more about her fantasy involving BDSM, Noah is her first and now only foray into the world. Nights of passion and days of temptation, these two discover a whole new world when they open up to one another emotionally.
Beyond just the passion between these two, this romance is a story about self discovery. Olivia discovers what true happiness can be and how she can find it within herself AND with a man. Noah finds that he biggest fear, that he could never have a happy wife and family because of his dedication to his career, is a myth. That despite his mother's demeanor, the love his parents had is real and attainable. They were happy and Noah has a chance at the true happy ever after with Olivia. He just has to convince her of that. Another sexy and steamy romance sure to keep you warm this winter!
M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Olivia is trying to recover from a bad breakup. Her best friend, Paige is hilarious and a trouble maker for Olivia. She signed Olivia up for a date site where Olivia could meet a Dom for a few dates. Olivia has always been predictable and now, with the help of her best friend, she wants something unpredictable.
Noah is a public figure. He knows that his job comes first. But, he is also a Dom and he likes this new app that allows him to vet and meet subs to play with. When he first meets Olivia, he is immediately intrigued by her. She is a mess of contradictions.
The two characters have amazing chemistry. Noah is dominant without being domineering. He knows just which buttons to push with Olivia and when. Olivia responds well to Noah's brand of domination. While there wasn't a ton of BDSM in this story, the power exchange was steamy.
I really enjoyed this story and loved how the characters fought for each other. They knew they had something worth fighting for and wouldn't let anything stand in their way.
Perfectly Inappropriate is well written and the characters well defined. I had a few issues with it but not enough to make me dislike the book.
I found it a bit odd that the story revolved around their shared D/s relationship but very little of the story included scenes with the two. They have chemistry but their story is much more about their relationship and the problems they must overcome which is OK too.
Olivia's growth in the book is a bit predictable. All sweet, doormat girls must learn to cut the poison out of her life and Olivia does this well. When her close friend who betrayed her by sleeping with her fiance comes groveling she's strong enough to forgive but not welcome the woman back into her life. She's also moved on from the man who didn't value her.
Of course, Noah must throw out his "one-week" rule when he becomes enamored with Oliva but it's not all easy. The couple must go through a lot of adjustments to get their relationship on track.
The end of the book was a bit rushed to wrap up their happily-ever-after.
All that said, I did enjoy the book. It was my first by Kennedy but I'd certainly pick up another.
This is the first book that I have read and reviewed for Author Stacey Kennedy and I have been asking myself "Why"??? I need to go back and read more by her.
I completely enjoyed the way the story flowed. I liked the character development and their relationship. The only thing I did not like was reading the last page and wanting more. I wanted more of Olivia and Noah.
Olivia Watts just the girl next door with such a big heart. Everyone can see how much she loves just from meeting her. Of course being so loving can cost you your own heartbreak. But the best way to heal a broken heart is to get back out there. Find someone that makes you feel whole again even if its just a fantasy.
Enter Noah Grant. Strong demanding handsome devil. Or maybe he is an angel in disguise. Noah is just what Olivia needs and when they agree to just a week of hot sex and fun. What is there to lose?
Sometimes fate has a funny way of putting you in the right place at the right time. Can you find love in a week? Noah does not think so but Olivia may just be the game changer for him.
Olivia really comes into her own in this delightful romance!
After witnessing the demise of her engagement to the only man she's ever been involved with, Olivia searches for a way to take charge of her life and avoid the emotional entanglements that proved so false. A chance encounter points her to an app that matches up willing subs with dominant men who value privacy above all. With the guidance of her best friend, Paige, Olivia meets Noah, also known throughout the state as Senator Grant.
Noah needs control almost as much as he needs privacy. The app provides him with both, but none of the women he's enjoyed so far entice him more than Olivia does. Olivia's sweet honesty is like a breath of fresh air, and slowly Noah finds himself willing to throw out all his rules just to keep Olivia near.
The execution of this story is far better than the setup, as the writer delves deep into her characters' hearts and minds to realistically explain why the usual obstacles truly seem insurmountable.
The only drawback I felt with this book is that Noah repeatedly refers to what Dominants need to do for their subs in and out of bed, yet he was actually only dominant when it came to sex. In pretty much every other aspect of their relationship, Olivia drove the emotions while Noah just tried to avoid confronting his fear of commitment. He was chivalrous enough to immediately stand up for her when necessary, but too weak to really stand up to her when the line was drawn in the sand. If you forget that he claims to be a Dom, he really is a sweet, devoted boyfriend whose world is turned on end when he finds the one woman he just can't let get away.
Olivia really shines as the lead character. She's reclaiming her life after wasting a decade on the wrong man, and despite her attraction to Noah she's never again going to settle for less than she knows she deserves. Her inner strength permeates her entire life, saving her dignity even when Noah leaves her twisting in the wind while he obediently follows his father's lead.
The HEA had everything tied up nicely, again with Olivia in the lead and Noah just thankful to be along for the ride. Not what I expected from the premise of a Dom/sub pairing, but it works for them. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
It's getting in hot in here!!!
Olivia and Noah meet by way of an app pairing dominates with submissives. Upon first meeting, there is a sizzling chemistry that sparks between them. It was supposed to be a simple arrangement.... one week of hot sex and move on....only things have a way of changing!
Olivia was so down on her luck after finding her cheating fiancé with her best friend. She's given up her dream job as a freelance photographer, and is stuck in a job she doesn't like much only to pay the bills. She decides she's always been the one to do the right thing and basically feels much like a doormat. That is what pushes her to sign up for the dominate match app.
Noah is a dominate and a senator Working is a way of life and he travels a lot. He is on the app because he can get his kink on without all the hassles of a relationship. He doesn't want to leave someone back home alone. A huge monkey wrench hits his plans after he meets Olivia.
This book ended up being very different than I expected. I really liked Noah, but felt he wasn't the typical dominate. He was super sweet with Olivia and very conscientious of her feelings. He wanted to take her away from her sorrow and let her just feel. He felt she was different than any other woman he had been with and that was unnerving to him. Before he knew it, he was changing the arrangement and a lot of his rules just to spend more time with her.
Olivia was a breath of fresh air that Noah didn't realize he needed. She saw life differently than Noah and he liked it. She was down to earth and although she felt despair, Noah helped her pull herself away from all the negativity. I liked how there wasn't any added angst just to give them some! Olivia's ex was a real piece of crap for sure, but the one who shined, was Olivia's best friend Paige! She was so straight forward and just hilarious! Talk about keeping it real! Everybody should have a BFF that will defend you to the nth degree like Paige did for Olivia!
I always enjoy a Stacey Kennedy book and I did enjoy this, but I would have liked a few more scenes with these two! The ones we got were pretty scorching! I wanted to see what kind of Dom Noah really was and I think we only got a little peek of him here!
I love the hero and heroine of this story. They are both such thoughtful people and really care about the world around them. They have good chemistry, too. I also liked the concept of this story and think the story flows quite well. This is a new-to-me author and I found I enjoyed this book, it was a good solid read. I just didn’t find it great or amazing; it was lacking depth.
First, with the description of this book it seems it will fall into the category of erotic romance. It really doesn’t. There is a scene or two that I would consider BDSM-lite. The Dom/sub relationship Noah and Olivia are supposedly going to delve into after finding each other through a discreet app never really comes to fruition. I will say that I love the way Noah explains the Dom/sub relationship and what it means to be a Dom. That was well thought out and informative. But just because you call your lover Sir doesn’t make you a submissive or him a dominant. I have no doubt Noah had past encounters that would put him in that role. It is at least addressed later in the book that he treats Olivia differently than any other woman before. Their sexual relationship seemed to be more along the lines of a long-married husband and wife that are dabbling in BDSM to see if it’s something they would enjoy, not the sexual exploits of a man who has a fierce dominant side he can’t keep down.
There are also a lot of missing or wrong words in sentences, but I’m going to chalk that up to me reading an ARC. I’m a huge fan of the publisher Loveswept and I’m confident those issues will be tidied up before publication.
All that being said, I did find this story to be somewhat engaging and I was rooting for the couple to find their HEA.
Sweet and entertaining, a story between a sweet woman and an ambitious New York Senator. Olivia’s fiancee betrayed her with her best friend and maid of honor, and now she’s trying to find herself and turn back into the courageous and fun-loving woman she used to be. Following her friend Paige’s advice, she signed up for a discreet BDSM app that pairs submissives with experienced doms.
What she least expected was to get matched with the Senator for New York, a young politician whose sole ambition is to get re-elected and eventually run for governor of New York. As such, he has no interest in serious relationships and gets his pleasure from the short term connections through the app. The problem is that when he meets Olivia he senses she’s different from any woman he’s met before and he’s entranced by her sweetness and her willingness to try new and adventurous moves in bed.
Olivia is charmed by Grant but she’s also burned by her experience with her ex-fiancee. She doesn’t feel like she’s in a position to take up with a new relation, so she’s happy with the one-week limit. The problem is, she feels so right with Grant that when their week ends, she doesn’t want to end with Grant but she also doesn’t want to get serious.
I liked that they fell in love by stages, as they spent time together. The BDSM part of the story was not convincing to me and I got the impression they spent more time doing vanilla sex than the kinky stuff. Anyway, it’s not the part that interests me more, so I skipped the sexy parts in favor of enjoying the story.
I found Olivia sweet and strong and Grant generous, gentle and kind. He may be a politician but he has a huge heart and he won Olivia over with his kindness and attentions. I loved the part where Cameron (the ex-douche) appears and finds that Olivia has changed to a better man, yay.
The book is entertaining, a little mushy but sweet, very romantic, great pace that didn’t bore, and had great characters.
After Olivia walks in on her fiancé and her maid of honor in bed together, she decides thats she is done playing it safe and is ready to take some risks to reclaim herself and her life. As fate would have it, she gets access to SiR, an app that pairs Doms and Subs.
Enter Noah Grant, a NY senator, who promises her a week together. However, after their first encounter it has both of them questioning if they can keep to their rules or if there is something more than just chemistry.
For a book about a BDSM, this book was rather bland. Even the sex was vanilla. The characters were very one dimensional. He is the strong yet sensitive type, she’s the innocent yet passionate one. They didn’t offer anything outside of their trope, which would have maybe made this more of an interesting read. But they were boring, each too perfect and unoriginal.
But wish there had been more of a build up to their relationship. Some foreplay, if you will (yup, I did that). It would have been great to get a sense of these people as individuals first before throwing them together.
I can’t even say they had a connection, because it was instadesire/instalove after the first meeting. He is intrigued by her BeCaUsE ShE’s DiFfErEnT! Oh my god, that was mentioned AT LEAST 3 times in every chapter, “He has never met a woman like her”//“she’s so different than all others”//“the way she sees the world is so unique”. WE GET IT.
My problem with a lot of BDSM in books is that it always comes across as really male gaze-y. However, I liked how Noah’s approach to being a Dom was unselfish, and was more about guiding the experience that his partners desired, “She was safe. Protected. All his to pleasure.” I’m here for a man who takes a woman’s pleasure seriously.
Overall, it’s a quick little read. Not terrible, but not enjoyable. Kind of like canned soup.
