To Mars: For Anyone Who is Different
This novel reflects unlimited freedom, love of nature and forgiving humanity. But even more than that, it is about the struggles of the LGBT community. Because it is a simple fact - nowadays there is a desperate lack of such books.
The story takes place on Mars – a planet where people live in harmony with each other, no matter what race, religion, nationality or sexual orientation they have. It is a place where science, creativity and culture prosper. A place where society has overcome death by prolonging human life to an extraordinary extent.
It isn’t a Utopia. It is simply a world that has no place for aggression or hatred. It is about a nation of people who are different – 80% of the population are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer. Gender stereotypes have outlived their usefulness and people now express themselves just the way they want to. Here society is no longer ruled by unjust politicians and governments, but by people and their environment.
It is a place that now has new, better traditions – created in peace and harmony with the Universe. A place where there are no wars, where life thrives, instead of being destroyed. A world where anyone – no matter their gender – can have a baby with the help of new technologies. It is a story about love, emotion, hatred, sex and discovering the whole unknown world ahead.
This book was originally written for those who are interested not only in the LGBT themes of the book, but also the science fiction aspects of the story, cyberpunk and the colonization of a planet - namely Mars.
If you are one of those people and/or you like what you have just read – it might be a book for you. Why don’t you just give it a shot?

Вриваюсь до вас із розповіддю про те, що прочитала нещодавно. Фантастика, роман, ЛГБТ-література від нашого українського автора.
Це історія про далеке майбутнє, де Земля в антиутопічній тоталітарній реальності. Засуджуються, буквально, всі, хто чимось відрізняється. Головному герою доведеться пройти через публічний суд, де буде прийняте рішення про вигнання на Марс. На Землі панують легенди про те, як важко вижити на сусідній планеті, бо всі вигнанці неначе аборигени. Яке ж було здивування хлопця, коли, прийшовши до тями в палаті на Марсі, він зрозумів, що все, що він чув до цього, - міф, який не має нічого спільного з реальністю.
Історія про життя хлопця, який відстояв власну ідентичність, в колонії на Марсі, в новій культурі, зі своєю специфікою, філософією, вірою, святами, традиціями та в гармонійному співіснуванні з природою, з екологічним та соціальним балансом. Така собі утопія, в порівнянні з антиутопічною Землею.
Ідея, сама по собі, цікава, розумію меседж цієї історії. Не зважаючи на деякі недоліки, в принципі досить легкий стиль написання. Проте, на мою думку, історію можна було б трохи розширити, допрацювати, додатково відредагувати і тоді вона обов’язково стане кращою. Адже не існує кордонів для покращення, яке точно необхідне, адже від українських авторів таких історій зовсім небагато. До речі, книга створена при використанні паперу, який є переробним, що є внеском в екологію.
Автору ж бажаю натхнення у створенні наступних історій і поліпшенні вже існуючої, якщо він вважатиме це за потрібне, звичайно.

The idea of writing a book devoted to the quir community came about because of the lack of such literature in Ukraine. One should only write her. I think some authors also thought about this, but they were confined to individual characters in their own works, which represented the LGBT community in the country. For some reason, nobody dared write a complete book in which the main characters would be different.
And then, in the distant 2011 year, I decided that it makes no sense to wait longer and I should write a book right now. That's right, after a year of writing and many months of thorough editing, "To Mars" was born.
The fantastic novella "To Mars" tells about a guy who defended his own identity, and although all the circumstances were against him, he managed not only to preserve his own personality, but also found happiness.
This is the story of the future, the world of the consequences of the present, through which Ukrainian readers can get acquainted not only with the quiry literature, but also with the expectation of Humanity ahead.
On the pages of the book you will find out what might be the future for the world, the LGBT and in particular for Ukraine, the bright characters and their history of life, the description of future technologies, and most importantly - outlines of the history of the colonization of Mars, resulting in a new authentic culture, philosophy and faith, understanding of the value of harmony between man and nature, ecological and social balance, a new social system, an alternative to the Earth.
In addition, I, like some LGBT activists, try to change the attitude of Ukrainian society towards such art as quir-literature, which, unfortunately, is still perceived as an element of some kind of "propaganda", but this literature should also be a place. After all, hundreds of thousands of LGBT citizens live in Ukraine. And this project must prove that Ukrainians want to read such literature. I also want to note that this print edition is primarily aimed at an adult reader.
