(Wish there were 1/2 stars more- this more a three and a half but closer to 4 than 3)
Elise lives with her Grandmother because she was injured and her parents were killed in and auto wreck when she was 3. She walks with a limp and writes to help her get through life. Her Grandmother wants her to write the story of her life and the love affair from almost 50 years ago. It was a nice, smooth, feel-good read about the main subjects from that earlier time and where there are at now.
Received this ARC book. Such a lovely read. Sophisticated writing that brings you back in time but still anchors you in the present (well the present of 2010). Loved the relationship between Elise and her grandmother and their banter. I loved Sam’s character-so charming, wild, and a free soul. Loved the storyline.
