NOTA: Acabo de enterarme que esto es la versión manga de una novela ligera. También lo tengo en cuenta para dar mi valoración del manga..
Con este tomo se concluye lo que se consideraría el primer acto. Ha estado bastante bien si solo analizamos este manga tomando en cuenta la investigación. Propiamente el autor comenta al final del manga que el caso está resuelto como si fuese una novela de misterio real y yo no puedo estar más de acuerdo. Sin embargo, si tenemos en cuenta otros factores como son los personajes y su desarollo me han parecido más planos que una plancha de hierro. Por otro lado, el dibujo me ha parecido precioso.
Seguiré leyendolo pero voy a darme una pausa porque sino creo que acabaré cansandome.

2.5 stars. The author of the light novel had a letter in the back wondering if the novel with its 'heaps of exposition' would work as a manga. The answer is no. The Steel Lady Nanase arc was WAY too long. This volume is extra thick to finish it off. It was nothing, literally nothing but 200 plus pages of Kotoko going on and on making up ways of proving that Nanase isn't a real ghost to rob her of the energy of belief all the while Kuro keeps getting killed again and again. One of the people on the forum accused of her flogging logic endlessly and that's also accurate.
I was bored to tears. The good news is this volume ended that arc (and ended the light novel). So the next volume will be something different but I'm not sure I'm up to it. It started out very interesting back in volume 1. Kuro was created by his family to be immortal, unable to die, because they fed him the flesh of supernatural creatures. Kotoko was taken by the supernatural beings to be their emissary sacrificing her eye and her leg. But the story went over a cliff and half of the narrative (even before Steel Lady) was about how Kotoko wants him to have sex with her and her feelings of inadequacy (as she is now in her later teens but looks 12). If the next volume takes us back to the supernatural I'll be happy but I'm very on the fence with this one.

I admit it, that was great conclusion to the Steel Lady Nanase story. It was even better that Kuro may have actual feelings for Iwanaga. That alone is bliss for me. I have stayed too long on this story and I'm glad that there could be a semblance of happiness for Iwanaga. The art was amazing as always.

One-legged and one-eyed teenager Kotoko teams up with brooding student Kurō to catch a faceless murderer who bludgeons pedestrians to death with a steel girder.
A typical crime thriller kicks off, where two mismatched heroes fight superhuman crime, while solving their own feelings for one another.
But this is manga, which means the 12-strong book series embraces as many genres as possible, from fairy tale to creepypasta, serial-killer thriller to high-school drama, and love story to meta comedy, and then undermines every one of these with twists, tonal shifts and self-awareness. Kotoko’s disability makes her a God in the view of immortal spirits called the Yokai, who follow and protect her, while Kurō can survive death, due to his consumption of mermaid flesh as a child.
The story then shifts into a philosophical investigation on reality and the perception of truth in the Internet age. Brilliantly, In/Spectre explores how an online audience can use the power of mass popularity to will a being into existence, and then encourage this entity to commit multiple murders.
The only way Kotoko and Kurō can stop the killing spree is to create a more compelling narrative the audience will believe. To save the day, the supersleuths must not uncover the truth, but create a plausible lie, a move which overturns the whole basis of detective fiction.

With the start of this volume we're coming in to the second part of the 'deductions' stage of this story arc, and Kotoko throws out her final two theories. I've actually been quite intrigued to see what she's going to come up with and it was actually quite masterful how she handled it all and brought it to an end. I really loved the smart way the ultimate solution came about and the enemy was defeated, and the way all of Kotoko's theories fed in to and contributed to what she was ultimately trying to do. It's all very Sherlock Holmes, I'm not going to lie! The way it was drawn was a lot of fun too!
Now, this volume brings the Steel Lady Nanase case to an end as the case is solved and I'm very satisfied with how it all ends! Everything wraps up nicely with one liiiittleeee thread dangling. From what I understand, that's all of the light novels adapted to manga form and from the next volume it's all going to be original story! I'm quite intrigued to see what's going to happen, I mean I'm assuming it's going to be to do with Rika, but we'll see!
I'm not going to lie, I ship Kotoko and Kuro pretty badly so it was nice to see some cute moments between the two of them in this volume, and get more of an insight in to what the relationship between them is like. I do find their interactions amusing as well as cute! As for Kotoko, she's my favourite character, I love her so much! She just has such a vibrant personality and you get to see just how intelligent she is in this volume, as you see just how far Kuro can push his powers!

I am quickly reminded why I put this series on pause: there’s sooo much info-dumping and over explaining in this plot line. Basically this entire volume is Kotoko explaining her fictional theories for why this ghost doesn’t exist in an online forum. Long paragraphs of her going through two more possibilities, continuing from the previous volume. It’s so text heavy, and not terribly interesting.
I wish I liked this more. The idea is interesting and the art is so pretty. But I already have two more volumes, so I’ll see if the next plot is any better.

We've reached the conclusion of the first major story arc and I have to say, I was pretty satisfied with the outcome! Going to completely avoid details because I wouldn't spoil things, but I felt as if the build up could have been more hyped but the aftermath felt perfect. Can't wait until volume 7, but I will have to because it does not come out until February 2018, but I will be very happy when it comes out!

Steel Lady case finally concluded. Interesting set ups for the continuation of the story (ie taking down Rikka). My understanding is that this volume marks the end of the novel, so I’m interested to see what the next volume is like, whether development of story and manga simultaneously will change how the next arc unfolds.

The conclusion of the first arc here was a lot better than some of the volumes in that it was more visual and interesting, but still, 6 volumes for a fairly bland story... here’s hoping the new stuff that begins in vol 7 is better...

In/Spectre volume 6 is the conclusion of the Steel Lady Nanase mystery. I have not been crazy about this first arc. I thought it was incredibly drawn out and getting into the series, this was not what I was looking for entirely. However, the conclusion of this arc was strong and interesting. I also enjoyed the lead into of future continuing story and the look into Kotoko and Kuro's relationship, and the growth that is shown.
In/Spectre volume 6 is the conclusion of the Steel Lady Nanase mystery. I have not been crazy about this first arc. I thought it was incredibly drawn out and getting into the series, this was not what I was looking for entirely. However, the conclusion of this arc was strong and interesting. The biggest change from my first read of this arc and this reread is that I don't think the build up volumes were as bad as I originally thought (again, blaming 2020 for being the actual WORST and souring my mood). Yes, the pacing for volumes 3 and 4 slowed down a bit, but the set up and ground work laid in those volumes are crucial for the story going forward and definitely pay off. This was a great arc and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was the thrilling conclusion to the Steel Lady Nanase arc and it was AWESOME! I loved following Kotoko's theories and seeing where the all lead to. The bits of action sprinkled in helped keep the pacing at a solid pace and broke up the monotony of the info dumps. Kotoko's plan was ingenius and I loved seeing it through to the end!
One thing I found interesting about this volume was it discussed Rikka's motivations and what I found interesting is that it can be seen as sympathetic but is not viewed as such in the story. It's made clear that despite Rikka's sound reasoning for doing what she does, it doesn't change the fact that her actions are not only endangering lives but endangering the natural order of the series's world. I really liked this bit and found it refreshing given how other manga series tend to bend over backwards to put even the most vile people in a sympathetic light.
Finally, I loved the last part of the volume dedicated to Kotoko and Kuro. It really shows how much they care about each other and prove that they are right for each other, even if they often clash. A beautiful end to a spectacular volume.
My overall feelings regarding this arc, however, are mixed. While I loved the two concluding volumes, the build up to those volumes was difficult to get through. The pacing was horribly slow and the info dumps got to be too much after awhile. Was it worth it for what we got? Yes, but I'm hesitant to say I'd want to reread this series knowing I'd have to wade through several volumes of slow pacing and chapter long info dumps.
Overall, this was an interesting arc and this volume in particular was the best in the series so far. Looking forward to what the rest of the series has to offer!
