After the dreadful confrontation with her boss, Summer Stevenson is dealing with her new lifestyle. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy being in a relationship under a new living arrangement. Leaning on her mother like she never has, Summer needs to figure things out quickly as she receives shocking news and a devastating blow.
Turning the tables after that disastrous dinner with friends, Emily Gray decides to play a little dirty, just to feel better. Lowering her inhibitions, she’s determined to have some fun but reevaluates her choices after one evening leaves her feeling sullied and unscrupulous. But when she has a chance at love again, can she trust it?
Now that she’s not trading money for sex, Amber Hamilton is doing what she can to walk a straight and upstanding life. However, the more she gets to know these men, the more insecure she becomes. Realizing that she can do better, Amber decides to take the plunge in order to better herself, since no one else has her back—or maybe someone does . . .
With a career that’s still on top of the competition and close friends to lean on, Brooke Brazile is doing all that she can to keep her head up high. When she finally feels like she can put the pieces back together, she hears some heartbreaking information.
Can Summer adjust to the life she never dreamed of? Is Emily still full of resentment, or is she capable of love? Will Amber take the easy way out when opportunity comes knocking? Will Brooke give up the idea of having it all just to have something?
I jumped into this book expecting the same gritty writing from book 1. But this book is better than that!! The trials and tribulations of the girls and their boyfriends or 'flavours of the month' ramps up and the reader becomes sucked in to some serious drama. Once again I loved this book. But the ending........OMG, I'm not spoiling it. You'll want to read it though
We are back with the four lovely ladies from the first book and what a book it has been! This is book two in the trilogy and yes, you do have to read book one to understand. It has been great to catch up with these four and their friendship that knows no bounds. As with all great friendships, they have been through trials and tribulations but they are there for each other through thick and thin. This is a fairly lengthly book as there are four different women with four POVs but the more you read, the more the drama and intrigue and the men draw you right back in. Dawn has done something completely different by writing a trilogy with all four woman as opposed to four different books about these women. I don't want to spoil it so I won't go into too much detail but what I can say is that you will not be sorry spending your time with Brooke, Amber, Summer, and Emily. I cannot wait to see how Dawn rounds up the end of this trilogy. This is my honest and unbiased review.
3.7 You need to read book one without question in order to comprehend what’s going on now in book two because we pick up where we left off and continue to move forward. This is a lengthy novel and as with the first book we’re bouncing between four woman’s POV’s and what’s happening in their lives. For me just as in book one it takes time to adjust and stay on track with each of their stories. There are moments I lose interest a bit but then the girls will pull me back in again. Its not often you have a series where all the characters are presenting their stories to you all at once, usually they have their individual books. I do commend this author for taking on a challenge as she has. I can’t image the task being easy trying to write all four ladies continuously. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Book 2 of the Capital Series is finally here and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author!
This picks up where book 1 ended (which means it is NOT a STANDALONE) and continues on with the journey of these 4 best friends: Summer, Brooke, Emily, and Amber. As with the first book, this one leads us through the lives of these 4 ladies that have formed a tight friendship. They go through all kinds of life experiences, both good and bad. Things continue to happen that bring them closer, and also that try to tear them apart. This book is also told from all 4 friends' POVs and it helps you get to know each one better individually.
While all 4 women are completely different from each other, there is still a strong bond that forms between them. They love, laugh, cry, and hurt together, and believe me, there's a lot of all those emotions and more intertwined throughout this series! I appreciated how the author made these girls more likable this go around and added more humor into it, as well. There were numerous parts that had me laughing out loud while reading! Then you have the parts that are painful and heartbreaking...things happening that are similar to life occurrences that we've mostly all been through. It helps you connect and feel the emotions from these girls. These are just average women, trying to live and enjoy life to the fullest, while having to grow and live and learn from many of life's hard lessons. I give this a 4 star rating because it's a really good story about life, love, friendship, and growth, which we can all relate to!
Oh I really like this one. This is a book that full of drama. It's all about four friends, it's all about their lives, friendship and relationships. It's really like TV shows, every chapter has it's own drama. Every chapter brings excitement. This book packed with emotions, I can feel the angst, the frustrations, the warms of the friendship and the steaminess. It might be too long and a bit slow for my taste, but I still realy enjoying it nonetheless.
As for character, I love Amber, Brooke, Emily and Summer. Each of their story has it's own charms, it also has ups and downs and that what make me can't stop reading, it all makes me wondering how the story will end.
If you're looking for a book packed with drama, you need to try this one.
*I voluntarily received a review copy of this book
Holy smokes, Author Dawn Wright has done it again. Book 2 in the Capital Consequences series is just as good as the first if not better. Emily, Brooke, Summer and Amber are back and better than ever. Oh, can't forget about their men,
Capital Consequences, book two in the Capital Trilogy, follows up where book one (Capital Encounters review) left off. The girls have done things and there was a shower of emotions that ran high. But in the same light truths were discovered about others and themselves. Can they recover in book 2? Let's dive into my second review by Dawn Wright.
These women constantly remind me why I mostly kept guy friends and Friend Zones. Way too much drama, even on their good days! As with the first book, it's seems to mostly be about Summer, told in first person. The rest are from their third person POV's. It allows the reader to be inside their heads and know where they're coming from without primary focus. The back and forth was a bit daunting at times, but when you read it like you're watching a daytime soap show, it works 100% LOL No Lie!
The story is nicely written with each chapter carrying a sort of theme on what's to come and believe me, it was a lot! The way Wright wrote, I found myself salty, mad a few times, felt sympathetic- maybe even empathetic. Don't even get me started on the sexual encounters because the first one with Damani was fire!
So if you enjoy drama, friendships and tragedy sprinkled with a bit of erotica, this may be your series! Check out Capital Consequences, by Dawn Wright, while I move on to the next read. Cheers!
Capital Consequences picks up right where book one left off. Emily, Summer, Brooke and Amber lives have changed and they tell their story from their POV. I have to say I enjoyed this book more than book one, maybe it was the drama 🤷🏾♀️. There were times that I lost interest, but then something happens and I'm right back trying to figure out what will happen with these ladies. Amber was my favorite this go round, and Brooke my least favorite. Brooke to me isn't as strong as she appears to be. That Summer situation I wasn't expecting and can't wait to find out what happens with her. This is a lengthy story and you do have to keep up with four ladies and their happenings, however it was a good read. Can't wait to read the last book to find out what happens with the ladies.
Capital Consequences is the second book In the Capital Trilogy and picks up where the first one ends.
I have to say this one might be my favorite so far. Again we follow the same women with the 4 different POV’s. We see new relationships, new and more intense drama and of course hot sexy time. The storylines were easy to follow and flowed effortlessly.
I have grown to love these woman and the bond they have for one another. They are so crazy and sassy and they had me laughing out loud a few times. I can’t wait to see what book 3 will bring
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
It’s not often I enjoy the sequel as much as I do the first, but this book was just as good as, if not better, than the first one! I love learning more and more about the lives of the four women in this book. And I have to say, kudos to the author, because it’s not often one writes a book with the POVs of FOUR different people in one and does it well, too! I’m sure it was no easy task, but she somehow managed to incorporate four different POVs and is able to write each POV in a way that you can easily tell which woman you are reading in at the time. Can’t wait to delve into the final book!
Like in the first book it follows the stories of the four woman and it's good to read the different things their different problems and how they go about trying to deal with everything , they are always there for each other , the book itself is good it is a bit lengthy because it goes between the four povs of the woman each time I myself would find it interesting if maybe the woman had their own books with their stories but I get the way Dawn has done it it's different and she's done good with it for her second book it's great and I can't wait for book 3 , I don't want to give too much away in this review but seriously get this and go along on the ride with the woman and men of the Capital Trilogy :) . Arc given in exchange for honest review .
The author knows her readers appreciate a generous length, so this book is deliciously thick and full of surprises. These four ladies' stories continue to keep the reader on their toes, having to keep track of what and who each girl is doing! Ha! Action packed, satisfying and heart warming. I've sidestepped over to Team Jackson with a side hustle of Oliver. Roll on the release of this trilogy's finale!
This book started off good and steamy. I swear this was better than part 1. I didn't expect half the the stuff that happened. I wont tell the whole book, because I am known to do so. I don't want you all mad at me. Summer and Ruben relationship is kind of weird to me. I don't like them together, I know many will question why, but you have to read it. I'm still trying to figure out why. Now, Brooke and Jackson. I know I was not the only who felt some kind of way about it. I was mad because I know he just wanted one thing. Brooke was not head strong period when it came to that. The end had me like wait NOOOOOO!! I didn't expect that to happen. I know its more to it and am I selfish to want part 3 like today? I love a book that make me feel some type of way.
This was a good read. the flow was perfect in my opinion. I have many questions that I know Part 3 will cover. I'm just on the edge waiting for it.

Well dawn you have got another excellent book out there
Meeting with these four girls there is always going to be backstabbing and someone always thinking there the better person and arguments galore
But with the friendship between amber and Emily really not resolved and Brooke finding it hard to live without Jackson.
And summer well she is in this bubble with Oliver but they are so stressed out and snapping each other that sometimes you need a breakaway. when things start to get on a rocky road especially when you get the surprise of your life and you have to do the decent thing and tell your current partner a difficult secret that you have been keeping for him ie Oliver.
The 2nd book had a lot of emotional things in the characters are amazing that dawn has wrote about.
I am not giving anything away as you will have to discover for yourself what happens in this book but I will say this Friendship is always there weather you are arguing or hugging or supporting that friend.
I am giving this book 5/5
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
This book picks up right where the last one left off, so if you did not read that one yet you better get started. This one had a lot steamier moment in it and had just as many "what the hell are you doing?" moments. I sometimes yell at characters in books and found myself yelling at these ladies. I also yell at Rick on TWD so it would only make sense I yell at books too. It's nice to see a story where the women are helping each other up, on the most part (Emily I'm looking at you). Once again if you are a fan of Sex in the City then you will really enjoy this series. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the third book.
