The new world is one of very few choices. Some people stay hidden, forever under the threat of being hunted down for a meal while awaiting the chance to fight over one of the next government supply drops. It was the best way to get killed, and a sure way to always have a pained and growling stomach. The only constant source of food inhabited the endless maze of underground subway tunnels – the disgusting creatures known as rats.
