Wolf Town: A Tale of Wolves Roaming the Post-Apocalyptic Land

Rate this book
In the dark night, the wolves howl, telling stories of the downfall of humanity and the last remnants of civilization. With their only natural predators gone—either dead or withering away from the disease that triggered the apocalypse—old Mansi’s wolf pack should be thriving. Yet food is scarce in this new world and, on the elderly wolf’s advice, the Alpha turns the pack south, toward a town rumored to be long abandoned…and perhaps their only hope for survival.

But Mansi has other motives for venturing back toward civilization. Elsewhere, she hopes, she’ll find her mother, a human who once took care of her all those years ago, back when she was just a pup. Because all she truly wants is to return home, close her eyes by the side of her human, and leave the world at peace.

Little does she know, the not-so-abandoned town harbors secrets, and a threat that will change the fate of her pack forever.

Wolf Town is a post-apocalyptic adventure that blends both genre and expectations in a short story full of action, suspense, and undeniable heart. Readers call Wolf Town “engaging,” “distinct and memorable” and “anthropomorphic animals finally done right.”

Some kids become popular by donning the latest trends or starring in the local b-ball team. As someone who spent lunchtime in the library sorting books—for fun—Jett Valmond never fit that mold. But she did manage to draw the cool kids to her table with bold, graphic images, speech bubbled characters and high stakes plot twists. Turns out crafting comics could be just as hip as strutting around in the latest Converse Chucks. Jett’s love of stories exploded into obsession in her teenage years, until her mother confiscated her books and ordered her back to her studies. Of course, once storytelling was in her blood, it was a disease no treatment—or irate parent—could cure.

While studying a BA in Language and Culture, Jett helped found her college’s Creative Writing Club, which remains popular to this day. She now works as a professional researcher for a global consultancy, digging deep to explore the grey spots of a world that’s often cast as black and white. Her love of research and contentious ideas led to her debut novel, Wolf Town, which follows a pack of grey wolves struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic city. Her soon-to-be-released novel, The Cursed Millennium Children takes a look at her own generation, shaped by technology and often accused of narcissism and entitlement.

Jett Valmond currently lives in the bustling city of Bangkok, Thailand, and loves connecting with her readers.
