The Burning Saints Motorcycle Club is the only family Clutch has known, and violence his only stock and trade. Humanity has handed him nothing but pain and struggle, and he’s come to expect even less from it. As an orphan, he’s always found it easier to bond with machines than with people. Now his club family is in danger of losing its way, its identity, even its very existence.
Dr. Gina Gardner is newly single, completely unprepared to mingle, and as it turns out, cannot sing and safely operate a motor vehicle at the same time. What she craves is time away to figure out what she wants. What she just might get, however, is a detour to what she needs.
When Clutch and Gina find themselves at the same crossroad, will they speed by each other, collide in a fiery crash, or blaze a new trail together?
I wanted to love this book but Gina absolutely ruined it for me. If your gonna love a man love all of him.... even the stuff don’t like all that much. But I loved Nicky
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is such an amazing series plus when you have it written by are a really good author with a story line that flows perfectly and in a way links to the authors wives stories . This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend to read all of them you wont regret it . I can't wait to see what's to come for the stories and characters .
I loved this one. And before I even start my review I just want to say I WANT MORE!!!
I loved Clutch. And even though the story speaks about him being a biker with an anger management issue, all I saw was a man who wanted someone to love and protect. Although some parts we do get to see his angry side. I suppose like everyone in the Burning Saints club Clutch aka Nicky is a bit unsure of which direction the club is going. Now that Minus is the Prez and wanting the make the club legit, things seem a bit unsure. And especially for him as he is best friends with Minus but he doesn't even know what's going on Elder aka Gina is sort of the club doctor and Clutch has had a thing for her for a while but because she was married and Minus made him promise not to go near her he stayed away. And Gina thinks that maybe he doesn't like her. But when she has a sort of accident he is there to help her and one thing leads to another and they end up having a one night stand. But Gina isn't ready to let go of Clutch yet, until she comes face to face with his biker world. Then she is totally freaked and distances herself from him. All Clutch wants is Gina but will he be good enough for her and prove to her that he is a changed man. And who is vandelising his property.
I really enjoyed this one, loved Clutch from the first page. Gina... well i didn't like the way she treated Clutch. One minute she was all over him and the next she was kicking him aside and telling him so stay away from her. And I really loved the epilogue, love it where you see how their lives turn out in the end. Jack Davenport I seriously can't wait for the next book
Sometimes the undeniable chemistry exuded between two such different souls is destiny’s way of showing you your fated path. Gina’s marriage, unlike so many others, didn't end in heartache and tears, but a quiet realization that marrying out of social expectation doesn't often lead to lifelong soulmate. She has decided to embrace her singlehood and enjoy it's freedoms. She wasn't planning on a fun filled romp with an oh so sexy biker, but Clutch is just this short of god like and she can't help herself. Clutch has been feeling lost since his family and club, the Burning Saints, has been given a facelift. With his best friend Minus at the helm, Clutch frankly doesn't recognize his beloved club anymore. When Minus orders him away from their Doc Eldie, to keep business and pleasure separate, Clutch reluctantly agrees. That is until she makes it known that she would be willing to make his wildest fantasies come true for one night. But after one night turns into another, suddenly, Clutch doesn't want to let Gina go. For so long the club was his family, but now Gina is giving him something else to be a better man for.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
This story has an intensity about it that kept me turning pages! Spot-on story telling! I love the connectedness, and the way the relationships are written, especially between Clutch & Minus. They had a kind of rough patch in their friendship, but the love & loyalty never disappeared.
I had a bit of a... disconnect w/ Gina. Her attitude toward Clutch (aka Nicky) ran hot & cold a bit more than I liked! But she came through for me in the end, and I LOVED the story overall. And eventually, I even loved the good Doc. ; )
At various points, I LOL'd & wanted to punch ppl & hug ppl (in the story) & it was sexy & snarky. I LOVED that we get scenes w/ Clutch & Cricket. And the ending made me happy happy happy! : )
I was excited when I read that Clutch was going to be the second book in the series. I would recommend that you read Minus first, not just because it is awesome but I don't think you cant get the full meaning of some of the events in this book without reading book 1.
Clutch is struggling with his clubs new direction and Gina is trying to figure out her new life. After a chance meet up can they build a life together or will they crash and burn? Reading this book you can almost feel Clutch's struggle with not only his feelings for Gina but his fears about his Club. Gina is a hilarious and strong doctor who is ready to move on and take some chances. What I loved about this book is that you can really feel the chemistry between Gina and Clutch and both have beautifully vulnerable moments. This book is a great balance between hilarious moments, steamy love scenes and the twists and turns of the plot. You can almost feel the struggles the character go through and it makes the story that much sweeter. This has all the elements of a great MC book, action, steamy romance, page turning twists and a MC family. But what makes this book interesting is that we can read about the struggles that an MC can go through and how they must work though change. This series should be your next great MC summer read! P.S There is a line about a raccoon that will make you laugh out-loud from one of my favorite scenes!
This is the second book in this awesome series. Clutch is the Sergeant at Arms for his MC, and is a rough alpha that is extremely kind hearted. Eldie is a strong and confident doctor, who only focuses on her work. There is an intense attraction between these two, and this is an emotional, humorous, and romantic read. I really enjoy this authors’ writing style, and cannot wait to read more in this series. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all MC lovers, as you will certainly not be disappointed!
Not like the usual MC books I have read. This seemed more realistic and genuine. The humor was over the top and the reality , well I love it. And what else would Clutch and Eldie name their daughters but Lucille and Charlene. There's a song in there somewhere, I think.
I have to be honest...I didn’t like this book...some parts were okay but I could barely finish. Gina and Clutch had no chemistry to me...I didn’t like Gina. I tried but she got on my last nerve. Clutch was cool and always trying to make it work but Gina was way too whiny for me. She constantly flipped on Clutch for no reason and I couldn’t stand it. Like, you know they’re having issues with a rival club and you just take off and not tell him?! Then you bitch at him when he finds you after he’s been worried for 2 days....WTF!
The new club president Minus seemed wayyy too soft to me. Minus and Clutch didn’t even seem like best friends they seemed more like strangers who are just part of the same club. I felt like Minus’ plans for the club could’ve been handled differently. He didn’t tell anybody what’s going on but he expects everyone to just change with no reasons other than he decided it’s time for a change. Why not explain the money situation to them instead of pissing everyone off having them think you’re just stopping illegal dealings just because times change. 🤷🏾♀️
Clutch's only family has been the Saints and he's not sure he's completely happy with the new direction the club is taking. Gina/Eldie is a doctor that has never asked questions or turned the club away when they've come to her clinic. She knows not to ask questions. Newly divorced she's ready for the next step in her life and a vacation weekend away....only things don't go as planned.
This book gave me everything I love in a MC read. Brotherhood, drama and a hot couple. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
Stupidity annoys me. I've read some books that I couldn't even finish because I was so annoyed with the unrealistic storylines. That is never a concern with Jack Davenport. His characters, descriptions, even his comedic lines are so intelligent and we'll written that he could probably describes phone book and make it enjoyable.
Okay so this is my first book by this author and I loved it.
Why?
Nikolai "Clutch" Christakos and Dr. Gina "Eldie" Gardner are funny. He's Sargent-at-Arms for the Burning Saints MC. She runs the neighborhood clinic and is the unofficial doc for the MC. (Hence the Eldie nickname....a take off of LD which stands for Lady Doctor).
Changes going on with the club have Clutch feeling a little lost and unsure of his future. Minus, the new club president and his best friend, is leading the club into a legitimate lifestyle and away from the 1% kind of things they usually do. He feels like everyone knows what's going on but him...and as SAA shouldn't he know what's going on?
Eldie is freshly divorced. In fact the book starts on the day her divorce has become final. She too has questions about her future, what she wants and what she needs.
Funny moment #1 Eldie is a rock star when she's behind the wheel of her Jeep. Can you imagine doing your drum solo (Phil Colins' In the Air Tonight...great song BTW), stopping to stuff a couple of Yum Yum's (what are Yum Yums?) in your mouth then looking over to see a hot biker smiling at your antics. And that's how we get to see these two together for the first time!
Come on admit it...you've done it and gotten caught. That's what made this book so enjoyable for me. The characters felt and sounded real. Sure she's an educated professional but that doesn't mean if she gets mad she's not going to throw around a few choice words. Or that when she's busy doing her carpool karaoke she doesn't get into it.
Funny moment number 2. They meet at a place called the Pink Priest. I can't even begin to describe this for you, you'll have to read it for yourself. I will give you a hint....the Maître'd is wearing a purple paisley robe, white feather boa, heels and is named Friar Chuck! Seriously, how does one keep your composure when faced with that. We won't even get into the decor or Jimmy Swagger. Like I said, somethings you have to read for yourself.
We find out their secrets, their fears, and their fantasies. The fact that some of it is sad but not done over dramatically is refreshing. Sure you might tear up but you don't roll your eyes because the drama is so over the top. There are enough twists and turns to keep you reading. And yes, there is personal growth by both of them. You can't fall in love without some can you?
At first I was a little disturbed about the ending. I suspected it but didn't think it would really happen. I love the way she ripped into all of them though. No fear yelling at a bunch of biker's just the love for one driving her.
Lord help me, if this book didn't have me turning my pages as fast as I could, I don't know what would have. I started this book and didn't put it down until I was finished. Fast paced and gripping, the story of Clutch and the lady doctor put it's hands around me and didn't release me until it was finished with me. Clutch grabbed my heart from the first book in this series. His back story was heartbreaking and as an adult, his past is very much a part of his present. But will it be a part of his future?
He's always thought that the lady doctor who has treated so many of his brothers, was one fine looking woman. He was taken by her, but she is off limits by his President and best friend Minus' order. Fortunately for him, she wasn't given that order and when he kinda is the cause of her minor car accident, he takes care of not only the situation, but takes care of her too. Eldie, aka LD, aka Lady Doctor, is a beauty. She has taken care of many of the MC's injured brother's under the former President, Cutter's reign and he has re-paid her in a secret way, one that has always had Clutch thinking it was in a sexual manner. But he is totally taken with the smart, strong willed woman but will not make a move on her because she is married! Well she was up until that fateful day that Clutch is riding along side of her, watching as she's belting out a song playing on her radio and stuffing chocolate treats in her mouth....she's on her way to celebrate her divorce. Startled by being caught by Clutch, Eldie swerves and crashes her jeep. Clutch to the rescue!
Their time together is hot and steamy. What is only supposed to be a one time hook-up, turns into more. But danger is lurking and when Eldie see's the change in Clutch when danger is around, she can't handle that part of his life. She believes that the MC will always come before her and her fear takes over. Will Clutch lose the one thing that he has always wanted? What will he sacrifice for the woman who has stolen his heart?
An outstanding read that will tug at your heartstrings and pull at all of your emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and what is turning out to be a fantastic series!
Wowza do I love me some Clutch. Just WOW WOW WOW. The author has written a wonderful storyline will grab you from the start and literally refuse to let go with characters that you’ll fall for from the get go and hope for a happy ending for them all. Clutch will take you and your emotions on a wonderfully wild ride, so be prepared to hang on. I would like to tip my hat to the author for a job very well done. This is an amazing read with a kick a$$ finish. The storyline is spot on and kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen next.
Clutch is a VP for the Burning Saints MC. A brotherhood that has just lost it’s President, Cutter, which is struggling to become legit. The club becoming legit was Cutters dying wish when he made Clutch’s best friend, Minus, the new Prez. Clutch and the others are not totally on board with this legit thing, but he’s is trying to support is longtime friend. Eldie is the club’s doc. She has a private clinic and has always been there when the club has needed her. She has also been labeled untouchable by the club because one, she’s married and two they need her to remain their confidential doc. (Little does the club know she’s newly divorced).
Sparks have always flown between Clutch and Eldie but both know it’s an off limits attraction. She is dedicated to her patients and her career. She can’t fall for a criminal, not even one trying to reform. Clutch has fought for everything he’s ever had since the day he was born. He’s done things and he’s not ashamed of what he’s done to stay alive and rid the streets of bad people, especially in the name of his club, as the Burning Saints are the only family Clutch has ever know. Can either of these two give a little to possibly act on the sparts they feel or are they just too far apart in culture to take the chance?
2 Thumbs up for this thrilling ride. A ride I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Reading, you won’t be sorry you did. Be sure and grab Minus (Book 1) as well. While Clutch can be read as a standalone, you’ll be much better informed if you read Minus first.
Book 2 in the Burning Saints MC focuses on Clutch and Eldie (or Gina). Clutch is the Sergeant at Arms, and a total tough guy. But he's pretty confused right now. His club is his life, and it's changing. He isn't sure that he likes those changes. But his president is his best friend, and he is doing what he has to to reserve judgement for now. Then he meets Gina, and he becomes even more confused. He is feeling and thinking things that are totally unlike him. He doesn't know how to react, or what to do. This leads to some not so nice interactions, and some really HOT interactions!
Gina is a doctor, with her own clinic, in the town that the Burning Saints operate out of. She is a hoot! I think out of all of the females in all of the books I've read recently, she is my favorite. She is a strong woman, who knows who she is and has a heart the size of Texas! After meeting Clutch, she's pretty confused too! He's everything she shouldn't want, but can't resist.
This book is all about family: the family that you make, whether through club or love, and how important that family is. Clutch and Gina shouldn't fit together so well, because they are so different, but they do. I loved how well they fit, even when they couldn't see it. I loved how exciting and unpredictable this book was. I loved how I never knew what was coming next, and how the characters seemed to take on a life of their own. This book was a fabulous follow up to Minus, and I can't wait to see who is waiting around the corner!
Nikolai "Clutch" Christakos is the Sargent At Arms for the Burning Saints MC, and sometimes lets his emotions get the better of him. Dr. Gina "Eldie" Gardner not only has her own practice, but takes care of the club's medical issues. But her marriage is finally over, so she & Clutch decide to spend one night together, as the sparks are flying. However, since it's such a seriously HOT night, they keep repeating it, and soon feelings are starting to grow, but Eldie keeps getting reminders of what Clutch does in his everyday life, and she's not so sure that she can live with it. This is the second book in the Burning Saints MC series, and while you don't have to read Minus (Book 1) I recommend you do because, 1. I loved it so much, and 2. I'm very addicted to Jack Davenport's talented writing style. I loved both Eldie & Clutch in all of their flawed glory even when I wanted to shake them, and yes, wanted to shake them more than once. Eldie, because the push & pull was on my last nerve after too many times, and Clutch, because he let his emotions out one too many times. That being said, their chemistry was off the hook hot, which lead to sexy times that lit things on fire! And more than a few of their interactions were hysterically funny, along with the colorful cast of secondaries. Plus, there were some twists that let me drop my favorite f-bombs throughout the story! I love this series, and cannot wait for the next book to drop, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Talk about getting my motor running!!!! (Get your mind out of the gutter. I was referring to all of the drama, suspense, budding romance, forbidden love.) Jack Davenport maybe a recent addition to the world of publishing but he has done an amazing job of entertaining, story telling, and creating fantastic characters. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
The Burning Saints MC is a 1% club on the way to the world of legitimacy. They are cleaning up there act starting with the return of Minus, book 1. A MUST READ!!!!!!!!! It won't be easy. It won't be popular. It will be entertaining.
Clutch maybe Sergeant at Arms but he has doubts about the club's future success. The tension between him and Minus can be felt through the pages. Adding to the conflict is Minus telling Clutch the Eldie (Lady Doctor Gina) is off limits. Making it more challenging is the fact there are still issues with the Los Psychos MC from Mexico. Because tangling with cartels is always a fun thing---NOT!!
But where there is heat there the fire. Sexual tension creates for such wonderful drama and this is packed with it. Add in the educated good doctor and the questionable life of Clutch and you enter the "good luck with that" world. Opposites may attract but there is a lot going against them. LOVED IT!!!
And when I got to the epilogue I was blown away. So good! So satisfying!! Now when is the next one coming?
Changes are a coming. Clutch isn't sure he's all in for the changes to his MC club. The new prez, his best friend, wants to change them from a 1% club to a daisy clean one. Not an easy task especially with the same brothers. He's Sergeant at Arms. He's trying to support his new leader when he'd rather just go work on his two favorite ladies--his "cuda" and bike. That is until he sees the club's gorgeous lady doc. He's ordered to stay away from her and plans to do so--until he witnesses her traffic accident and takes to the hospital and home again.
Gina/Eldie (LD Lady Doc) can't seem to stop thinking about the too-hot-to-handle biker who makes her speechless. So begins (use fan here) a steamy one-nighter. Yeah, right. Both agree to the impossible.
Clutch knows he's not good enough for her. She knows she's not going to go for a bad biker dude. Watching them try to follow their head when their bodies refuse to obey is a wild ride. There is more going on with the club than changing their ways. It could be dangerous to all of them.
What will it take to bring them together? Is it even possible? The story is primarily about Clutch and Gina. Both captured my support and interest. Strong guy, strong gal and both have a softer side that the other brings out. In Gina's case Clutch brings out a different side and more strength and personal growth.
In Minus’ book I loved getting to know Clutch. My heart pulled for him and I wanted to give the big goof a hug sometimes. He was very funny and witty and had me chuckling a time or two. I was very curious when I started reading Clutch (his book) what woman was going to win the prize of bringing him to his knees and let me tell you Jack Davenport doesn’t disappoint. Once again you are brought into the world of the Burning Saints MC and all the drama that comes with it. Clutch still struggling with the direction the MC is trying to go in feels a disconnect with the Burning Saints when a threat that they thought was long gone and taken care of resurfaces and put the men at the MC at risk yet again. Amidst this drama, a chance encounter between Clutch and Doctor Gina Gardner occurs and brings her deeper into the world of the Burning Saints. With Gina’s newly found freedom and Clutch’s need to regroup the two find themselves in bed with each for “one night”. What ensues thereafter is a wild and emotional ride that will leave you on edge the entire time.
The storyline is on point and will leave you not wanting for anything. I couldn’t put down Clutch’s book and devoured it in a day. Jack Davenport, a definite 5+ read and I can’t wait for more from you!!!
Didn’t finish after page 31. I don’t think this is for my demographic. I’d say it’s for like the 50+ that are into the old school cliche biker gangs where these “tough” guys all have cute little nicknames for eachother and drive motorcycles and talk about club loyalty and club pacts and all that. They’re trying just a little too hard to show how tough and cool they think they are. And I was so turned off by clutch and his unnecessary extreme road rage when some guy cuts him off. Talk about a complete over reaction! I think the author must have been trying to make him look like he’s this bad ass biker dude that “teaches” guys he deems weaker than him lessons and takes matters into his own hands, but he really just looked like a little baby throwing a little tantrum over something trivial. He’s a grown man that can’t control his emotions and flies off the handle over minor inconveniences…like a toddler. I prefer men over toddlers personally. I mean, if you’re gonna have such big emotions at least be creative or intelligent with how you express them. Going straight to violence when you’re upset shows he is emotionally inept. I understand he felt like this guy was driving dangerously but if violence and rage is the only thing you can think of to express this then to me that tells me he’s a one note character.
I freakin loved this latest book in the Burning Saints MC series!!! This is the story of Clutch and Gina (Eldie). The Burning Saints are dealing with a lot of change...first off the MC is going legit and moving towards owning legal businesses. Clutch is a bit hesitant with all of the change and doesn't know how to process all of this. Gina (known by Eldie to the club) is going through change as well. She is recently divorced and is ready to move on and enjoy the single life. She gets into a minor accident and Clutch is there to help her out much to Eldie's embarrassment. She has always thought Clutch was hot and when he proposes a hot one night stand she jumps all over that. What they didn't count on was the attraction that refused to die and the chemistry to be combustible. They decided to make a go of things but Eldie gets scared when she sees a side of Clutch she wasn't anticipating. She wants to run but the feelings she has for Clutch makes it hard to walk away. All Clutch wants is a chance to prove to Eldie that he can change and be the man she needs him to be. I loved everything about their story...I was hooked from beginning to end. It was such a great story and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series. Well done!!!!
I just discovered this series as I was reading Piper Davenports The Dogs of Fire Series. This is the second book of the Burning Saints series and I was not disappointed. This is Clutch/Nicky & Gina/Eldie's story. Ever since I read Minus book, were he tells about his and Clutch's past, I've had a soft spot for Clutch. He is the Sergeant At Arms for The Burning Saints. He was abandoned as a baby, has no blood family. The only family he has now is his club brothers. He starts to think that someday maybe he could have a family of his own, when Clutch starts to find himself drawn to Gina/Eldie the club's doctor. Although Minus has warn him to stay away from her, he can't help it. She is like a magnet that pulls him to her. Gina is newly divorced. She doesn't want a serious relationship right now but a weekend fling she could go for. When she sees the handsome biker she decides he is going to be her weekend fling and when she ask Clutch he is all in. But as they spend time together Clutch starts to have feelings for Gina. He starts to think that maybe he can have a real family, but Gina sees and knows what he does for the club and she doesn't want that kind of life. Clutch tells her that the Burning Saints are trying to go legal with all their businesses, but can they with a rival club on the horizon causing trouble. I loved this story. There is mystery, romance and humor in this book and is just getting us warmed up for the rest of the series. If you haven't read this series yet take a chance. I think you will enjoy it.
Oh my goodness!!!! Clutch has not been happy since the previous president died and his best friend after serving exile in Savannah was made the president. Minus, the club president now, and the previous president came up with a plan to turn this motorcycle club completely legit. Clutch’s issue and some of his fellow bikers are how to take 1% and turn them completely legit. He makes his opinion known when him and Minus are in private but he stands with him when they are in public.
Dr. Gina Gardner is the unofficial club doctor and fresh from her divorce and wanted to take a weekend to herself. Gina is even given a road name by the club- Eldie which stands for lady doctor (LD). She has had a major crush on Clutch but she thinks he doesn’t see her. It only takes one crash for him to see her. She only wants to embark on a one night stand and he is good with that. What neither of them expected was their sexual chemistry to be so explosive. When she is the thrust into the middle of his MC world she panics and totally closes herself off from Clutch. He is trying to prove himself to Gina that he is a changed man. Will she let him back into her life?
** I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review **
Clutch is the second title in the Burning Saints MC series, and features Clutch and Eldie, aka Gina.
Gina is a dedicated, strong, confident and independent doctor and is well known to the Burning Saints.
Clutch is the gruff, rough and tough VP of the Burning Saints MC. His world is turned upside down when the only family and life he knows starts to change. The Burning Saints have always been a 1% MC, but have decided to earn their funds legitimately and in law abiding ways, where his strength and brawn are no longer required.
This story is full of heat, heart, humor and the chemistry this pair share is incredibly intense. The love scenes are incredibly hot and steamy.
Although this title is not quite as full of intrigue and suspense as the previous title in the series, it has well placed drama, and angst throughout and I found myself completely captivated. I will be eagerly awaiting future titles in the Burning Saints MC series.

Clutch is book two in the Burning Saints MC series by Jack Davenport. The Burning Saints are changing the way their club does business. Clutch is a little hesitant to say the least as the Sergeant at Arms her prefers talking with his fist and asking questions later...while the club is processing change...Gina or Eldie as the club calls her is going through a change of her own...her divorce is final! She's ready to move on and can't help her attraction to the hot biker named Clutch. After an embarrassing accident and a hot biker coming to the rescue Gina cant resist anymore. So with a one night only deal on the table these two go in hot....but one is never enough. I am in love with Clutch. It's well written, hot sexy, and laugh out loud funny... I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Clutch is book 2 in the Burning Saints MC series. And basically picks up where Minus left off. Personally, I recommend reading these two in order.
I have admit I absolutely love Clutch/Nicky. The MC under Cutter’s leadership is all Clutch has known. But times are changing in more ways than one. Eldie and Clutch make a unique pair. Eldie/Gina is the perfect offset for Clutch. So much is changing in his world he seems a bit lost at times. She makes him want to be a better man.
This book threw me a few curves. Things happened I didn’t expect. (But I do love the Pink Priest, hope those characters/place will be back. Jimmy is too funny.) Some curves I didn't like, some I loved, but, hey, that's a sign of a good book. The Burning Saints MC series has quickly become a favorite. Now, I'm off to start Ropes.
