Jason King & The Konami Code

Rate this book
There’s a monster lurking in the tunnels below the city. Jason is good with computers. He builds his own using the parts his mother “borrows” from her job. He’s also obsessed with old NES video games. Contra. Super Mario Bros. His favorite is Castlevania. This doesn’t make him the most popular kid around.

One day, Jason and his best friend, Gary, are chased by bullies into the old sewer system where they’re attacked by a snider—a hybrid of a robot, a snake, and a spider. Jason makes it out, but the snider takes Gary. Now, in order to save his best friend, Jason has to rely on his hacking skills. That and the Barrel Arm Biceps™ the snider coughed up. The one with the old NES controller in it.

Between Jason’s Castlevania and computer skills, the monster doesn’t stand a chance.
