If you could have great sex with a hot man who didn’t know who you were, and who you’d never see again, would you do it?
Pippa’s co-worker asks this question and convinces her to attend a costume Halloween party. Pippa has never done one-night stands. She doesn’t even date. Because she is hiding from her crazy ex husband on the other side of the country and hoping he never shows up to kill her. The last time she’d seen him, he’d had his hands around her neck squeezing tight. Before she’d blacked out. After she came to, she knew she’d need to leave this house, and him forever, she’d vowed to stay away from men. Because they often weren’t what they seemed.
But the chance to have one night to remember behind the safe anonymity of wearing a mask combined with the fact she hadn’t had sex in over a year, created a situation where she didn’t stop herself from saying yes.
Tanner “Diesel” Taylor is a SEAL one of the most responsible men on the planet. So responsible that when his mother died while he was in high school, he helped his father run the garage and supported his four siblings. When he joined the SEALS, he took on the responsibilities that went with the job and vowed he’d not marry and settle down. He wasn’t ready to support a wife and kids and instead would focus on the job and seeing the world.
Neither counted on meeting. Neither counted on the best sex of their lives. Neither counted on making a baby.
He asks for her number, but being afraid he’ll turn out to be just another bad choice in men she refuses to give it to him.
Two years later he finds her and his son. But he arrives on her doorstep too late. Her ex has been released from prison and is furious that she’s had another man’s child. A son that should have been his. When Tanner arrives, Pippa and his son have already been abducted by a man who just served time in prison for felonious assault and nearly beating a man to death in a bar. Now Diesel must get them back.
Pippa, abducted by her ex, who seems even crazier than before, is terrified for herself and for her baby. She is out of hope and doesn’t know a SEAL is coming to her rescue.

Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Protecting Poppa by Debra Parmley. Tanner "Diesel" Taylor is also at the party and he is charmed by Pippa in her masked far costume. After one sexy, steamy romp, the two go their separate ways never imaging their lives were going to be changed and their paths would cross again. Two years later Pippa is a single Mom and a chance meeting in the park with Tanner's Dad now put Tanner back in her life. Will he be in time to save the woman he was never able to forgot and the son he never knew about? Or will the crazed, ex-husband kill them both? Can "Diesel" save them and become the protector of Pippa's heart? A fast read, IT is sexy, steamy and suspenseful.
Pippa was living under a different name across the country from where she used to live from her abusive ex who is now in prison. She meets Diesel at a costume party where she is dressed as a woodland fae and he a gladiator they have a one night stand w/out exchanging names. He leaves on a mission and she finds out she's pregnant. Extenuating circumstances bring them back together. The first part of the book was corny to me, the part where he was on a mission I like and when he came back to rescue them.
What a great shot read. Loved Diesel and Pippa. It was too short of a read. Wanted more. Can't wait to read more about these two along with their son and daughter. Loved that you used Tex along with Wolf and Hunter. ♥️
Protecting Pippa: WOW! Excellent story and writing! I really enjoyed Tanner and Pippa's story! It's sad how some me can be abusive and others are true protectors. I loved how Diesel and Pippa met. I loved the mystery of the Halloween costumes. I liked how all the Seal's pulled together. Great story!
Protecting Pippa by Debra Parmley Don't know why I have been avoiding reading this book but so glad I did read it. What an awesome read! Book starts out with a dedication page and table of contents and welcome letter from the author to the Operation Alpha Fan Fiction books and acknowledgements. Story starts out with Pippa being invited to a Halloween party and she confesses her secret to her friend about her past life and she's ready to move on but with no attachments. They are excited and she chooses a fairy from the woodland section as it's very skimpy and lacy. It is a masked party and a bunch of SEALS are also attending. She gets up her courage after some hurricane drinks and asks him to dance which he accepts. Story also follows Diesel and a few of his buddy SEAL's.. Like the playfulness in the dialog after which they find a room and things heat up and very explicit sex scenes. After a time she realizes she is pregnant and she has no way to contact him at all so she raises the child herself. Still working at the grocery store and attending classes at night a man aids her at the park to get her car started. He swears the child is his sons although his son never mentioned fathering a child. He brings the information to his son and Diesel gets his buddies involved and they are able to track her down. They also learn her ex is out of jail and where he's located now. Won't spoil the rest of the story but there's a lot of action here and fast paced, easy to keep track of and the outcome is nothing like I ever expected. Love how this all comes together and wish the story was longer I feel I had just gotten to know the characters... Like how they teach her how to handle the weapon. Ends with about the author, synopsis of her other works and listing of friends books Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
PROTECTING PIPPA is part of Susan Stoker’s Special Forces: Operation Alpha Fan-Fiction World. There is no need to have read any other books in the series or from any of the other contributing authors. Each stands on their own.
What a beautiful second chance, secret baby story. It also contained plenty of steam and suspense!
I loved the circumstances that were developed to bring them together and to reunite them. Sweet, charming, and fateful are the defining factors of the two meetings for Diesel and Pippa.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: PROTECTING PIPPA Series: Special Forces: Operation Alpha Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: B – a few errors Received from: Debra Parmley (as an ARC gifted copy)
A chance meeting at a costume party leads to an unexpected baby. Since Pippa didn’t want to exchange names, it created the issue that they will ever find each other again. Just as Diesel finds her and his son her ex kidnaps them. Enter the SEALS. Will they be able to protect them and get Diesel, Pippa, and Ben their HEA? Strong characters that drew you into the story hoping it would turn out for them.
I loved this story! Not only is this a perfect fit into this Kindle World, it is a well written story on its own. The characters are likeable and the storyline well thought out! Very much recommend!
I'm.. kinda disappointed.. i wish it was longer i wish i could connect with the couple but i really couldn't.. it was a one night stan no names, didn't know what the other really looked like (both had mask on) she got knocked up.. he didn't know for 2 years.. until his father saw the little boy.. it was just to short.. and not enough.. :(
