He lives in Tallinn, Estonia, having moved there with his family in 2012 from St Petersburg, Russia, which they moved to in 2008. He is originally from Kent in England and lived for eight years in Cheshire, before moving abroad. As well as writing the novels that are already published (plus the one or two that are always in the process of being finished) Tim enjoys being outdoors, exploring Estonia, cooking and spending time with his family.

The fourth book in The Hunt series starts a new trilogy where the Games have been dismantled from within and our MI6 spies still have not got much to go on. Anissa has been banned from Russia, but she and Alex are still on the case. Russian power and influence takes a different angle in The Machine, but is still as ruthless and ugly as ever. And I really did love Donald Trump getting a taste of his own medicine at one point! I did find Alex’ romance somewhat implausible, but other than this I found The Machine to be just as enjoyable as the previous Hunt books, albeit at a slightly more restrained pace of action. Really looking forward to finding out what happens next.

With everything happening in the UK at the moment (well, the Russian related stuff, anyway) you would have thought I'd written this series in light of recent events. These books, however, have been penned for much longer than that, and this fourth instalment is timed to coincide with the recent Russian Presidential election, which also takes place in The Machine.
I'm biased, of course, but don't take my word for it. There is now a whole crew of readers who work behind the scenes and help make each and every book of mine as polished and exciting as possible. So read what they say about the book in the weeks to come.
If you like well thought out, believable and fast-paced crime thrillers, with a lump of political ambition and a splash of extreme oligarchs, wrapped around characters who are real, loveable and yet at times utterly flawed, then this is the book for you! If you are only just discovering the series, why not start at the beginning (this one is book four already) as it will make so much more sense read in order, though each does work on its own, especially this one, which starts a new trilogy.

Barely Future Fiction Done Right!
It's challenging to write a story that is, literally, a few weeks in the future when publication puts the dates in the very recent past. Tim Heath has done a remarkable job of pulling this off.
The events of the story take place in early 2018 and pick up where Book 3 (The Poison) ended. While our intrepid team of Alex, Anissa, and Sasha are still involved, the focus of the story is eponymous "The Machine". We learn that we have already met (directly and indirectly) its leadership.
We follow the activities of three pretenders to the Presidency of Russia: Putin (of course) and two major payers from Book 3: Matvey Filipov and Dmitry Kaminsky. It is a great story of power and what money can do to promote that power. The story is intertwined with real people (e.g., Donald Trump) and events.
The story is a bit less of the detective flavor of the first three books but has its share. This is an excellent start to the second Hunt trilogy and provides a story that is satisfying.

This is the fouth book in the series I've read so far, and I have devoured every single one. This one marks the beginning of a new trilogy within the series, and it's plain impossible to put down. The writing, construction and character work are fantastic. I was sucked into the story from the very beginning and gripped the entire way through. I'm not sure how Tim Heath manages to release books that echo actual current affairs, the result is an amazing read. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book.

Tim Heath done it again! You can never get enough of his work and “The Machine” is one of his great works. A thriller full of passion, agony and surprises. It is a must read this book of the Hunt Series.

Wow another great story in the Hunt series. I really enjoyed this book, as I read it in double quick time, as I could not put it down. Highly recommended. Can't wait for the next one.
