Why Should I Love You?
Abe Masters seem to have it all from looks, his bank accounts, and profession. He’s surrounded by family and friends that adore him, and he takes pride in being an influential member within the community. Even though, all seems good, he has a troubled past and can’t find love. He thought he'd found it in his fiancé, only to find her in bed with her boss. As he’s beginning to feel that all is lost, an optimistically charming woman, by the name of Lovely, enters the picture.
The beautiful Lovely Prasad is visually impaired and unfortunately, also romantically impaired. Twelve years prior, she loses her sight and any kind of possibility at ever finding that one true love. However, she remains positive and free-spirited which ultimately lands her in the arms of Abe Masters.
As Abe and Lovely’s relationship grows, those surrounding them can’t seem to get it together. And, unfortunately for Abe, his past transgressions resurface. Some things are hard to let go of and other things just won’t go away, no matter how much of a changed man he is. Secrets will be exposed, and threats will be made, leaving those who are foolishly in love with only one question lingering in their minds. Why should I love you?

2.75 ⭐️ This was Ivy’s debut novel and it shows. The story did not flow that well. Characters were getting mixed up. I was getting confused on who was talking. It was a bit all over the place because there are a lot of characters to keep up with.
With that being said, I was still engaged with the story & did enjoy the plot. Lots of relationship drama, affairs and kept secrets. The characters are interconnected 😵💫 I’m going to move on to book 2 because the truth that was revealed at the end of the book was like DAMNNNNN! lol

Abe Masters- 30 something . half black half Hispanic. was engaged to Aisha. Dumped her because she was cheating on him with her boss. Got with Lovely.
Lovely- half Indian & something else? She’s partially impaired from her being shot in the head when she was a child. That incident connects her back to Abe. Has a child name Grace who was born from rape.
Eli Masters- juggling 3 woman Kiera, Robin, & Kris. Might be gay?!?!?!?!? lol
Ike Masters- married to Tomika & has 2 kids with her but loves Melissa who is Abe’s assistant. She’s married also & has a child but it’s not her husband’s. It’s Ike’s .

Wow!!! Who knew so many secrets would be revealed?! It seemed just about everybody had some type of ulterior motive behind trying to hurt Abe and Lovely. With Kiera I was hoping Abe would scare her enough to the point where she didn't want to go through with trying to bring drama. Kenya ain't worth a damn and using what she knows for her own benefit and I hope it all backfires. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. Wow!!! Look how long it took for Abe to find out the truth. Now Robin on the other hand doesn't even deserve to be called a friend! I hope her jealous, unappreciative ass get exactly what she deserves. Wonder how she'll feel when her so called lover leaves her high and dry. Ooohhh they're about to cause Fyah to come out full force and I can't wait! Lovely finally got smart when it came to her finances. Aww I'm so happy for Eli. Hopefully this will cause him to finally want to settle down. Cesar all I can do is smh!!! Lorenzo needs help because he's on some other ish. Ha ha Aisha!!! Lo set you up nicely! Esau seriously need his ass kicked. No Sarah, you were suppose to be aware of your surroundings and not get caught! I'm ready for part 3 because I have a few questions. What will happen to Sarah since she knows the plan, why did Cesar do the unthinkable, who is the other person involved with Esau, what will happen when Fyah emerges, what does Kris have to talk to Eli about, and I wonder if Lovely will ever find out the truth about everything?

Wow!!! Drama, drama, drama, but exciting drama that will keep you reading. I couldn't give it 5 stars because it took at least 3/4 of the book before it got really good.

Wow.. Now this is how you write a book... OMG... And the cliffhanger had me sitting on the edge of my seat... This is a must read... That's all I can say great job Ivy Symone... On to part two..

Wow!!!! Abe was something serious! I didn't like Aisha from the jump with her conniving behind! After everything Abe went through he was still able to find love once getting to know Lovely. She had a free spirit and didn't let her disability get her down. As for Eli, I'm hoping he settles down soon. With Kiera, I didn't like her either for always starting stuff and being so simple minded. I'm hoping Abe and Lu will be able to build a relationship and he'll just stop trying to have a relationship with his mom. The ending got me! I can't wait for part 2 to see how Abe is going to deal with what he recently found out.

Mannnnnnnnnnn where is the sequel. I need it in my life right now! This book gave me life with all its twist and turns. Abe is trying so hard to erase his past but it keeps coming back to haunt him. I wonder if Lovely will still love him when. she finds out. and somebody please tell me Eli's oreintation!!!

I loved this book.I couldn't put this book down at all.It was a page turner from beginning to end.I have never read from this author but I'm glad I did.I can't believe all the twist,turns, drama and secrets that came to light.I so can't wait for part two that ending was crazy

This book was so good and I didn't want it to end! I fell in love with Abe and lovely. there needs to be a part 2 because these two were destined to be together! I commend the writer for this book! hats off to you for such an intriguing love story!!!!!!!!

Wow that book was cray.I forgot wat happen in the first one until I got deeper in this one.O can't believe her family paid for him to be in on it and for him to find out that about his dad.Everyones secrets came out I can't wait to get in the third boom because that ending was hella good

I loved this book just as I loved Part 1. You can't trust so called friends these days. The love between Abe and Lovely must be greater than all of their trials and tribulations.

Lovely has had a hard life but in spite of it all she has flushed...except in the love department. She finds it hard to trust anyone but when Abe enters her life, she give him a chance. But when past demons come knocking and everything comes full circle, will Abe be able to hold on to Lovely?
This book is a drama filled and had my heart beating at times! The author really likes to dabble with taboo topics and also has a knack for weave characters' lives together which makes for great plot progression.
I really wanted to like this book as I have REALLY enjoyed two books I recently read by this author (Stay and The Bed We Made), but the writing style was off putting for me. The 3rd person writing didn't flow as smoothly and more use of pronouns in place of names was needed. There are a lot of side characters who also have their own sub stories which I found off putting; made the plot seem all over the place.

Abe is engaged to be married but he's been neglecting his fiancee for work so he decides that he needs to show her some attention. Everything is going well but then he catches her in a compromising position & calls off the wedding. Basically his whole circle is happy that he's broken it off because apparently he's the only one who couldn't see the type of person she was.
Now that he's the most eligible (& richest) bachelor in town, there are sure to be females coming at him left & right. But he has already met the one woman he's interested in moving on with. As Abe & Lovely date & get to know each one another all you can think of is they might be perfect together. Still, there's a nagging feeling that something is definitely gonna go wrong. And it definitely does!
There are other dramas going on in the story at the same time so you're trying to figure out everyone's issues & I realized this was definitely gonna be continued in another book

Don’t know why this book seems like it was better the 2nd time around!!!…
Kiera and Sarah irked everything in body!!!…
My heart broke for Abe at every turn because to long for your mother’s love and be denied is awful!!!…She made her son pay for her lustrous mistakes and then go along with Esau to continue he to mistreat him, but happily enjoy the perks he came with!!!…
What is Abe going to do because now that Lovely is pregnant and he’s holding onto the secret that he’s the reason her life was turned upside!!!…
This book had be angry one minute and smiling the next!!!…The greed that is showing is Eric is letting me know that another storm is coming because I’m sure he feels real entitled to Abe’s fortune, no matter how he gets it!!!…

Amazing read
I'm mad I waited so long to read this series.. I've read almost all of her other books.. Ivy Symone definitely has a way w/ words.. She's able to make you think one thing wen it's something completely different.. I love Eli's crazy self.. Since I've read the other books I'm sitting here trying to figure kit how he ended up w/ who he ends up w/..lol Towards the end I knew that Are and Lovely's lives were gunna be intertwined.. I'm looking forward to see how they can overcome this huge obstacle..

The Master brothers were a force to be reckoned with! Each brother had their own issues & secrets but loved one another unconditionally. I can't wait to start part 2 because I need to know more about Lu, Susan & Esau. Keira is petty & messy both. Or the kids Eli's is the big question.

Omg!!!!!!!
What did I just read. And to think it’s only the first book of three. I loved everything about this book. It made we happy and it also mad me sad... I loved Lovely and Abe together that had been through so much in their younger years. But to find out that Abe had something to do with her hurt has hurt me. I don’t wanna say to much on to book 2

Amazing
I love Ivy Symone. She has become one of my favorite authors. She writes with so much depth to the characters that I feel for them. I love the way that she tells things but there is always a secret. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
