Kerri Nelson survived a fifteen year career in the legal field and then took her passion for crime solving to the page. But her journey to become a mystery author took a decade long detour into the world of romance where she penned twenty two novels and novellas in various sub-genres.
Born and raised a true southern belle, Kerri holds many useful secrets: how to bake a killer peach cobbler; how to charm suspects with proper batting of the eyelashes; and how to turn your parasol into a handy weapon.

REMOTE CONSEQUENCES I love cozy mysteries and feel good heroines, don't get me wrong...but for the first time that I can recall, here was a mystery being solved while our heroine, Mandy, worked, tried to care for her mentally challenged sister, as she suffered disappointments in her life. She didn't have a side-kick to depend on, because it wasn't until near the end of the book that both Ty and Colin actually were helping her. Red herrings, twists and turns, and a surprise ending made for a fun read and a great start to a series. Looking forward to more books in the Working Stiff Mysteries!
WORKED TO DEATH When a sister gives up everything to come back to her home town and take care of her severely autistic sister, she ends up working two jobs and lusting after three guys. If that isn't bad enough, she seems to be a dead body magnet, as well as the person everyone comes to in order to get their mysteries solved. In this second full length book about Mandy Murrin and her sister Paget, Mandy ends up being kidnapped twice in one day. With a body of a friend found in the trunk of a car she towed out of a pool, she gets tangled up in solving his murder. Finding the other woman in the murder case and a sudden influx of drugs that have appeared in town add to the stress and confusion.
I like the fact that Mandy is not bitter about having to give up medical school and come home to take care of her sister when her aunt dies. I also like the way she is interested in three guys, but doesn't stress out about that either. She has a schedule for Paget and reliable people to help her. She works two jobs to earn money for the two of them. She may grumble to herself, but she pretty much sucks it all up and does what needs to be done. Paget is lucky to have a sister like Mandy!
The book has a few lighthearted moments (many in regards to Mandy and eating) but mostly moves along rapidly to solve the mysteries presented. The conclusion was surprising and well written.
DISORGANIZED CRIME Mandy Murrin has gone back to school and finished her last year of med school. Now besides running the B Positive Clinic, she assists Dr. C. at the funeral home doing autopsies. But when she gets called in to do one on a prized pig named Puddin', Dr C. has a heart attack and has to be rushed to the hospital. Eventually Mandy returns to do the autopsy of the pig, and finds something unusual in the process. Meanwhile Mandy has so much on her plate I was worried for her. She is working part time for a plumber (the $3,000 will help pay for her sister's special school) and is the cotton festival judge. She is also in the wedding of an acquaintance who will be married for the 9th time to her true love while the bridesmaids (including Mandy) look on in eggplant dresses. Weddings and romance makes Mandy have to make some romantic decisions between her three suitors as well as figure out what is going on in Millbrook and why "northerners" (read the mob) are in town.
