This was obviously an older book. Steve is a cop who warns his parents to be safe on their way home. The next day, he finds out they've been murdered. He is out for vengeance. He uses all his resources to search for the murderer. When he gets a lucky break, he learns the murderer is a 15-year-old boy who looks like an angel. His name is Quick and he's been able to escape all his troubles with his angelic face. This time, Steve is determined to make it stick. When they must plead it down to the family court, Steve goes crazy. Quick escapes and Steve is hot on his trail. He catches him and beats him near to death. He realizes what he's done so he goes to a phone booth to call an ambulance when Quick attacks him with a knife. Quick gets jail time for that regardless of what happened before.
