OH MY GOD. That's all I can say. Will that work as a review because I am totally speechless??? I had no idea what to expect next when I first started Fox, but I can only say Cold was nothing I could have ever imagined.

Officer Levi Fox and Hollywood star Ivy Stone have a love story that seems to be bound to end in heartache, but when one is determined to make it work, maybe it can actually work.

Max Monroe are experts in hooking their readers to a story with twists and turns that will make your heart flutter and mind blown. Will they or won't they? Or the right question maybe should be, 'Should they?'. Are they in danger or are they safe? There are so many questions in my head all throughout the story.

I can't divulge much without spoiling the first book and Cold, but all I can say is expect to go on an emotional rollercoaster ride. You'll feel anger, frustration, love, confusion, fear, and anticipation for what's coming next. This book was wonderfully written, and althought it’s very different from the Max Monroe I've known and loved, I am 100% obsessed.

I'm sooo ready for you, Fox!

Cold is the follow up to Stone, and man is it a follow up. There is suspense. There is the sexual tension from book one, and there are hot naughty bits that will leave you fanning yourself. It’s emotional. It’s a crazy ride that I wasn’t really expecting. If you haven’t started this trilogy... NOW is the time!

And they kinda fell in love with each other in the first book. Even though Levi hates everything about this movie. And they fought all the time. But they also kinda kissed all the time.

And then he went and did something 'unwise' at the end and now Ivy is mega mad at him.

But Levi wants her back and he's not giving up!

And even though Ivy wants to stay strong and keep on hating him, she can't stop herself from kissing him everytime he's near!

Finally. It feels like years since we've read book #1 - even though it was just 4 weeks or so ☺

But now we're finally back with Levi and Ivy.

And book #2 was just as adorable as the first one.

The whole book is basically Ivy being adorably mad at Levi and still kissing him every chance she gets. And Levi trying to be patient ... looking for his chance to convince Ivy that they belong together.

And of course the flowers!!! What is happening there??

This will get so much more exciting before we can ride off into our happily ever after sunset!!!

Just like with STONE, you start reading COLD and bam! You're right there in that icy cold Montana town. You can almost hear the snow crunch under Levi's boots and smell the winter air and the cold rain! I just adored this book! Even though Ivy kinda got on my nerves a little bit here and there with her constant I HATE HIM BUT I WANT HIM! Ugh... ☺

But I still looove this story so much - and LEVI!!!! Ugh! HE'S MINE!😜

I NEEEEEED to have book #3 ASAP!!! I have to know how this all will end!

COLD was an amazing 2nd book in this exciting & adorable & sexy & funny & moving & snowy Hollywood-Montana romance trilogy! Hurry to your nearest amazon asap - LEVI FOX will be sold out in no time!!!

There's still this tiny little thing I didn't LOVE-LOVE .... the cover. All three covers. If I would come across them in a bookstore, I would keep on walking. It's a bit ... no idea. The guy is cute - the girl looks at us very weirdly, not like Ivy would. The colors don't work for me at all and it's so blurry and not intense enough. I don't like the red and ... I know, I'm weird. I don't even really care about covers - I just love to look at them when they're amazing ... but this series is amazing with or without an amazing wrapping, so pfffft, don't care about the cover!☺

After how much I LOVED the first book, this one was a bit of a disappointment. Everything was there for the continuation of a great story; an emotional starting point, electric chemistry between the MC's, and intriguing secrets yet to be revealed. Unfortunately, the execution of the plot left me . . . well, Cold.

It wasn't all bad though. The writing shined in places...

"I'll do whatever I have to do to keep you safe. If that means being a caveman, then so be it. Bring on the loincloths, animal hides, and wooden clubs. I'm game."

...and now that I'm so invested in these characters, I have to finish the trilogy. I'm hoping for more from the finale!

Sweet lord. Cold picks up right where Stone left off, and once again I was knee deep into Levi and Ivy’s story.

Actually, much more of Levi’s story this go around.

There are so many layers to Levi. So many things going through that man’s head. And I loved seeing how things really began to unfold. See that he was finally fighting for the connection he felt with Ivy. That he wasn’t going to let her go.

And Ivy. God, that woman’s tenacity and grit. And ability to hold a grudge. *grin*

I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough to see what direction these two were headed—because it was touch and go and still is!

Gah, when does Fox release? I don’t know that my heart can take much more! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Firstly, please excuse me while I go and throttle Max and Monroe for that ending…

Ok, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way….holy cow! This book was amazing. I truly love this trilogy and the characters.

After the ending in the first book, I was wondering how things would play out, and how they would move on from the incident. But Max and Monroe have done a wonderful job with this storyline. It moves well, things get explained well, and the characters have me captivated.

Every time I would need to put the book down because my break time was over at work, or I had to go to bed so I could function at work the next day, I was disappointed. Because I just wanted to keep reading. I HAVE to know how this will play out. I HAVE to know whats in store for these characters. I’ve grown attached to them, all the rude and angry comments included.

While there are some things that had me annoyed at particular characters, it all added to the depth of the story. The emotional reactions the characters have and bring out in each other is fantastic, even if a lot of the time it can feel over the top or unwarranted.

And of course, we all expect a cliff hanger, because we know this book isn’t the end of the story, but that ending? So many things were just thrown at me, and its so much to take in, that SOMEONE PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FOX RIGHT NOW. STAT. DID I MENTION RIGHT NOW? K THANKS.

Anyhooo…There are so many possible theories for what could happen in Fox, that its going to be a hell of a wait until we get to find out, even if it is only a month away.

I always enjoy Max Monroe books, and their romcoms are fab, but this series, this is a whole new style of writing from them which I ADORE. I really hope that after this trilogy, we get more thrilling and intense books like this too.

I thought I was going to kick the bucket, WAITING impatiently for Cold to release after reading Stone. But, NOW….now I’m putting my life on hold, closing the drapes on all my windows, and living off of simple foods like licorice and dry cereal, until the time comes when Fox gets here. Do you hear that Max & Monroe?…I’m subjecting myself to misery. All because of YOU. That’s right…this is all YOUR fault. Because after the EPIC cliffy you just left me with, MISERY loves company, and that company is ME.

Seriously…HOW am I going to function now after reading this book? HOW?!? I just….I can’t even….I want….I NEED FOX RIGHT NOW!!! **hysterical sobs of desperation**

This book…MY GOD, this book gutted me, played around with my innards like a child’s play-thing, and haphazardly put me back together again. The sadness, the pain, the heartbreak, the SUSPENSE….y’all take pleasure in torturing us, I just know it!

To say this series is a must-read is like asking if bears sh*t in the woods. It’s a no-freaking-brainer. With that said, if you haven’t picked up this book yet, or Stone for that matter, DO. IT. NOW. Do it. Read them, then come join me in my pit of despair. I’ll share my food, I promise.

Gah! Okay, keeping it real. I have inhaled these two books like I do my beloved chocolates. This review is for Cold, which I received an ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest review. Cold is book 2 in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy... And you definitely do need to have read book 1 (Stone) in order for these books to make sense.

The writing team of Max Monroe are a well-oiled machine. They have such a stylized and instinctive flair that they lend to their characters, it is a joy to watch it unfold on the page... you know, except for when you get mad at the end when there is a bit of a cliffy and the next book doesn't come out for a month. As I said in my earlier review of Stone, the overall tone of these books is a bit of a jaunt from the normal rom-com brilliance that has almost become synomous with the name, Max Monroe. And even more so in Cold, you could feel the angst reaching through the screen, not that that is a bad thing...because it isn't... and it isnt pg-13, let's put it that way. haha!

I'm anxious to read the conclusion to this trilogy, Fox, that comes out next month. 4 stars.

‘A hero hidden in an asshole’

There’s probably no better description for Levi Fox that truly epitomizes who he is or has become more than the above statement. Since being introduced to Levi in Stone, readers have witnessed his contradictory behavior, his hot/cold demeanor towards Ivy Stone, and because we’ve watched this ‘alpha-bastard’s’ treatment of Ivy, despite the reality of how Levi truly sees her and feels about her, it’s easy to understand why Ivy feels confused and trampled on by the man who seems to own her, even when he makes her cry.

But in Cold, Levi begins to show who he is underneath the cold front that he’s displayed, which is why it makes sense that Ivy can’t walk away from him or avoid him at all costs because no matter how much of a frigid bitch she is to him, he knows he deserves it, so he endures her rage and her ‘cold silence’ because what he feels for her is something he can’t let go of and now that he has a second chance, he refuses to go down without a fight.

With Levi’s actions at the end of book one, Ivy has every reason to shut him out; he broke her heart and her trust, and that kind of damage is difficult to come back from, but as much as Ivy’s entrenched in emotional overload, not only from Levi’s actions and attitude, but also due to the nature of the script and who she’s portraying, she needs Levi more than I think she even realizes, so when Levi works to make amends and also lets her in, unearthing truths that few if any people know, Levi and Ivy find a common ground and they work together on their respective fears, which makes them understand just how right they are together and how their ‘fighting means they’re feeling’ which also means they’re ‘living’ and that hasn’t been something Levi has done for quite some time.

But Max Monroe’s Stone Cold Fox Trilogy is romantic suspense, so amidst the movie-version of Levi’s real-life playing out in front of him, there are also incidences occurring in Cold, Montana, that feel an awful lot like history repeating itself, so when the chain of events play out and readers are left with one hell of a conclusion, it’s anyone’s guess what’s going to happen in book three but what seems clear is that life will never be the same for Ivy Stone but what that means for her relationship with Levi or her ability to live her life cannot be determined until readers are privy to Ivy’s internal thoughts and the fallout of the events in Cold are handled.

Max Monroe has done a great job with the first two books in their Stone Cold Fox Trilogy. The books have been intriguing, suspenseful, and emotional, and as the series continues, readers begin to truly understand who Levi Fox and Ivy Stone are and why there’s this undeniable connection between them. I love the fact that Max Monroe reveals more truths about what happened to Grace and provides Levi’s thoughts and feelings when it comes to the case and his relationship with her. All of that information is crucial for Ivy to understand why Levi’s treated her the way he has and with that information out in the open, they stand a much better chance of making things work between them than they did if Levi would have keep those details to himself.

I would be remiss in my review if I didn’t acknowledge that I figured out the plot twist pretty early on in Cold, and while it didn’t necessarily detract from my enjoyment of the book, I wish there wouldn’t have been as many hints along the way to make that assumption fairly quickly into book 2 of the trilogy. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there were a lot of readers who didn’t anticipate the events that occur in Cold, and maybe it’s just because I’m an English teacher that I can quickly deduce from the clues that are given where the plot line is headed, but I do wish they would have been less obvious.

Despite that knowledge, though, I truly enjoyed every part of the Cold; I understand why Ivy tried to keep Levi at a distance, but it also made sense that once she talked things through with Levi and learned important information from him that she would be willing to explore the feelings between them. But now that the town has, once again, been shaken to its core, I’m not sure if anyone will ever be the same, and when further details are revealed, I’m not sure how Ivy, especially, will be able to cope with the aftermath.

I said it in the last review, and I'll say it again: This series is OVER the top with drama, but it's become a guilty pleasure. This is a continuation of book one's story, and in this we're handed a bit more suspense than last time. Seems there's a perpetrator back on the prowl in the town of Cold, and their sights are on Ivy. The end wasn't surprising to me, personally, but the lead up was racing. Levi softened some in this installment, now that he's realized the depth of his attachment to Ivy, and their back and forth arguments (which typically led to some intense passion) fed into the angst of their feelings for one another. Worth the read at just over 170 pages, and I'll definitely finish out the series now that some major changes have happened.

Gah, it seems like forever since we had book 1, Stone. I know, it is has only been a few weeks, however I have been impatiently waiting for Cold since the second I finished Stone.

Boy, was it worth the wait!

Right from the get go we were taken on another ride with Levi and Ivy.

But ugh, Ivy! She spent most of the book irrationally mad at Levi for things that happened at the end of book one, even though she knows what really happened. To me she felt quite immature for most of the book and I wanted to shake some sense into her. She eventually kinda comes around but boy did she test me in this installment.

Levi is just everything. The more we learn the more we love him.

We know this is going to be another cliffy, ready for book 3, so I was wondering as I read "what can be the things that we end on this time?"

Oh. My. God. You are going to be shocked with things happen.

Now I can't wait for the final installment. Is it May yet?

This book was brilliant, it's raw, emotionally charged and captivating. This second installment of Ivy and Levi has all the feelings. I laughed, smiled and cried. I loved seeing the tug of war between them, the fights and surrender. The dialogue and plot has so many elements that left me hooked, quickly turning the page to see what would happen next. This well written book was the perfect second installment of the Stone Cold Fox trilogy, it's left me wanting Fox now!

Cold, the second installment in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy by Max Monroe, is just as awesome, if not more so, than Stone. Picking right up from where Stone ended, with Ivy so angry and broken hearted, and Levi frustrated and angry with himself, set on making things right between them. The chemistry and passion between these two ratchets up a notch in this book, leaving them both not knowing if they are coming or going! Such intense feelings were brought out and laid bare, there was no way to guess what we were in for next.

I loved the progression of Levi in this book. Ivy was so mad at him, so hateful towards him at times even, but he didn’t let that stop him in his pursuit of her. He knew he had screwed up big time and he wanted nothing more to make it up to her. I was really happy with how he opened up, sharing things with Ivy that he had kept closed off for the past six years. Ivy wasn’t taking it easy on Levi, and even though I couldn’t blame her for the most part, I was a little surprised at how kind of awful and spiteful she could be. She did her best to close herself off from him, but Levi, when he sets his intentions on you, is a hard one to deny.

I was even more on edge reading this book than I was with Stone. I was completely riveted! I knew something big was coming, (the anxiety was real!) but what it was I did not know. There was a time when I thought I had something worked out in my head, but Max Monroe completely threw me for a twist! It’s no secret that this book ends on a cliffhanger, and lord have mercy I’ve never wanted a month to fly by so quickly. Honestly, with the way Cold ended I’m not sure where MM plans to take us in Fox, but I for one will be along for the ride!

Cold, the second book of the  Stone Cold Fox Trilogy , is here. Levi and Ivy’s story continues and it is as addictive as ever. It will knock your socks off!  There is more of everything - more angst, more emotion, more sexual tension, and more twists to suck you in. I easily finished it in one sitting because I couldn’t get enough!

Levi screwed up royally in Stone . He’s dug himself in a hole deep enough that he may never find his way out. Ivy tries to make it through the filming as fast as possible so she can leave the pain Levi’s inflicted on her. She wants nothing to do with him now but he’s willing to do anything to change her mind.

We were two ships passing in the night, and when this was all over, we’d be miles in opposite directions.

Cold is fast-paced, entertaining and it gives us new depth to the story and characters! Levi has grown so much and though change is difficult he is willing to try for Ivy. We get to see a kinder, softer side of Levi and I loved it. Honestly, I was worried that he wouldn’t be able to redeem himself after what he did but he realizes what a total asshole he was and owns his actions. He grovels and shows how actions speak louder than words. I loved that he shows Ivy his insecurities making him human and vulnerable.

With the way I’d been from the very first day she’d arrived in Cold, I was the exact kind of man Ivy Stone should avoid.
But I didn’t want to be that kind of man anymore. I wanted to be the man Ivy would run toward with open arms. The kind of man she could trust and rely on. Someone who only made her feel good and safe and fucking happy.

Ivy was crushed by Levi and her pain and frustration are palpable. She pushes Levi away a little too hard as he is trying to make things right but I understand why she does it and I would have made him work for forgiveness as well. I liked that she recognizes his sincerity and is able to move on from the pain when she realizes who Levi really is and why he acted the way he did even if it was unacceptable.

From the beginning there was something between Levi and Ivy, and no matter how much they want to deny and run from it they couldn’t escape what they were feeling. The chemistry is sizzling and the pent-up sexual tension is unmistakable. You can feel it building until there was nothing else for it to do but explode. And when it does, it’s an inferno.

However, nothing is easy when you bring baggage to a new relationship and we see first-hand the challenges Levi and Ivy face. From the past and the murders, to the movie and the future, there is much that threatens their relationship. Even though Levi opens up to Ivy and we get some much needed answers, there are still so many unanswered questions and theories running through my head. I feel like I am missing a huge part of the story and I can’t wait for more.

Like the first book, this one will take you on an emotional rollercoaster only it kicks it up a notch. There are twists that will surprise you and turns that will devastate you. I was crushed by the way things went down in Stone but now I am gutted by the turn of events in Cold. The cliffhanger is brutal and guaranteed start the waterworks.

Max Monroe - why do you torture us so?! The tears won’t ebb and I am still in shock. Now I am even more desperate to get my hands on Fox to find out how this story plays out. I am not sure I can deal with it all as I am still reeling from the ending of this book and need someone to hold me.

Book 2 in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy and I can't say anything beyond: Holy crap on a cracker, that ending! Wow!

"Give me your lips."
"Give me your tongue."
"Give me your pleasure."

My brain wanted to defy him.
My heart wanted to give him everything.

If I get too into this, I'll be spoilery. And I've promised to not ruin this trilogy for anyone. That being said, you MUST READ STONE before reading Cold or you will be so lost and so confused and then you'll give it a bad rating and that would be sad because this is the PERFECT SECOND BOOK. No joke, there is progression, there is love and hate, there is sex and fighting, and so much more.

Levi and Ivy are, well, they are special. They are special in the way they can't resist each other no matter how hard they try. And after the crazy ending of the first book, you just know they are resisting each other.

It's gonna take some serious convincing to get these two back on speaking terms. Max Monroe finds a way to get them to the exact place they need to be. They know how to mend hearts and break them. They know how to leave us in suspense all while pushing us further into a story, into a town, and into the hearts of our characters.

You will feel things in this book. Those feelings are not limited to happiness, sadness, or anything in between. It's a ride you didn't realize you wanted to take until you are almost finished. And that's the same time you really, really don't want the ride to end.

But it does.

And until Fox releases in May, we'll be sitting in that weird spot between hanging off the edge and actually falling.

If you haven't read the read the first book in the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, then I suggest you go do so ASAP and close out from this review because I'm about to drop some spoilers and y'all ain't gonna want none of that. But for those of you who have, feel free to continue reading my review of Cold as I curse Max Monroe's name for the pain they have caused me. 

Cold picks up right where Stone left off. Levi Fox realizes how much of an asshole he has been to Ivy and he's willing to do whatever it takes to win back her trust. So that means groveling—and a lot of it. But having already been burned, Ivy isn't so quick to forgive and tries her best to close her heart off to Levi. While these two fight it out, strange things start happening and Levi fears for Ivy's safety. Can Levi keep the girl who owns his heart safe, or will history repeat itself again?

Max Monroe really got some balls to be torturing their readers like this. The amount of twists in this book had me on edge and I couldn't stop reading. I was totally surprised by how deep Levi and Grace's relationship truly was and it just made me even more mad at the way Grace's life came to an end. Speaking of Levi, I was pretty pissed off with him after all the shit he pulled in Stone. But was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoped that he would finally get his act together. Long story short, he did. I was totally won over by the cold-hearted asshole and how could I not be? He poured his heart out to Ivy and told her things that no one else knew, things about Grace so I can definitely see why the guy has a fear of commitment. A good amount of this book is spent on these two bickering back and forth. I was really hoping that Ivy would forgive Levi like I did, but at the same time I loved how she made him work to earn her trust back so I was willing to wait it out until Ivy was ready to forgive. I liked how Max Monroe also managed to slip some suspense into this story and they slowly built it up to one hell of cliffhanger. Y'all, I HAVE NOT READ A CLIFFHANGER LIKE THIS ONE IN MONTHS! LIKE, BITCH THIS SHIT HAD ME FUCKED UP! And the worse part is that I won't be able to pick up Fox for another few weeks so I'm basically sitting here with my theories until I see how this finale plays out. The next few weeks will be painful, but I know the wait will be worth it!

4.25 stars. So good! Cold is book 2 of the Stone Cold Fox trilogy. Book 1, Stone, ended on an emotional cliffhanger and this book picked up from that point. Levi has hurt Ivy with his thoughtless actions and is ready to do anything to make it up to her. There is some push and pull between them as Ivy finishes up filming the movie in Levi's small town. Some secrets are revealed and finally Ivy and Levi are working towards a good place together. But things are not as they seem and we are left with another shocking cliffhanger.

It was easy to get back into this world and Ivy and Levi's relationship, which isn't always the case in serial type books like this. But the fast pace, engrossing story, suspense and emotion sucked me back in immediately and kept me engaged until the end. This is kind of a slow burn. Ivy and Levi had a lot to work out between them, but I like way it was handled. Ivy wasn't too easy on Levi or too forgiving and Levi was pretty good at apologizing. I still didn't love Ivy's sister Camilla in this book. Her part in the conflict at the end of book one made it hard for me to ever trust her, which continued until the end of this book. But I don't think it will play a part in book three so I am not worried. I still love Ivy and Levi. There are both great characters and I really believe they belong together. Their connection and love is palpable. There is a cliffhanger at the end of the book, but not a relationship cliffhanger. I feel pretty confident that everything will work out for them. I can't wait for Fox so they can get their HEA.

Overall, this is a really good romantic suspense trilogy. Ivy and Levi are real, layered characters with great chemistry. Cold has emotion, sexiness, suspense, humor, and an engrossing, memorable story. I definitely recommend this trilogy and I can't wait for the final book, Fox!

I am still sitting here... stunned. I inhaled this entire book. No stopping- just flipping pages so fast my hands cramped up.
I have no idea how I am going to wait one full month to read the final book in this trilogy. Max Monroe- you have truly outdone yourselves here. I don't know how you managed to take it up yet another notch, but I am floored.

To start off- if you haven't read Stone, you MUST stop now and go read it. These books absolutely HAVE to be read in order. Cold picks up about a week after Stone leaves off, as it's a continuation. The best way to read these is to go in blind. Don't try to find out anything about the plot before you read them, or it will take away from the literally visceral response you get as this story just builds and builds. Once you start reading you will not want to stop, so clear your schedule, grab your copy, and settle in for the ride.

Oh, Levi... how I wanted to hate you. Now you have to go and make me question everything I thought about you. Ivy continues to be everything that I truly love in a heroine- she's tough, feisty, and intelligent. The chemistry between these two is incredible. I really love that this story is being shown to me, not just told to me. I could literally feel each emotion along with the characters. Getting a dual viewpoint adds good depth to the story, and I felt like I got to know all of the characters better- even the peripheral ones. Every emotion, every thought... it all just came alive as the words flew by.

But that ending... just left me breathless. I will be waiting anxiously for Fox. Is it May 2o yet???

Ok, Firstly the 3 star rating isn't because the book is bad. It's because I felt like Cold had gone in a different direction to Stone. I really liked Ivy's character in Stone, her and Levi's banter was great...just in this book I found it getting in my nerves. Ivy seemed like a different character and since the story picks up right from book one I was a bit miffed. She was back and forth with her emotions with Levi.
Levi suddenly decides that Ivy is the one for him and he's completely in love with her when they haven't even been on a date! Their whole relationship was then arguing or her giving him the cold shoulder.
There is a few surprises at the end of Cold that will make you sit up and Max Monroe decide to give us one more surprise... we get the prologue of book 3 - Fox ...which left me shocked!
I'll absolutely be reading Fox,I really hope that I can enjoy these characters again by the end of the series.

Tearing down walls...
In "Cold", Book Two of the "Stone Cold Fox" Series, Max Monroe take ANGST to a whole new different level... one which causes the reader to go through the novel, consuming it in warped speed holding onto their every breath of what is going to go down between Levi and Ivy. Giving her space to come to doesn't seem to be working out in his favor so he desperately needs to change the rules to this wicked game of "push and pull" to win the heart of the only woman who has touched his soul in years. A story of tearing down fortified walls and souls being awakened after living in limbo darkness for so long. 5 Treacherous Stars to Max Monroe for putting their readers hearts through the proverbial ringer in "Cold".

Cold left me HOT. And in need of book 3 because...THAT ENDING!!!!
Max Monroe has really nailed it with this series for me. I've adored their other books but there is something special about #StoneColdFox. Levi and Ivy's story continued in Cold and it packed one helluva punch! There were twists I didn't see coming, a couple I knew would develop and then BAM they slayed me with the ending.
This series has been captivating and I love Levi and Ivy's characters and to see the progression of them, not only together, but individually.
I have no doubt book 3, Fox, will be the icing on the book cake that Max Monroe served with the Stone Cold Fox series...and I'm hungry for more!!!
I looooove a good cliffy and Max Monroe delivered!

This is book 2 of a trilogy that is a complete departure for the authors who are known as Max Monroe. For those of you who are fans of Max Monroe, you know they are masters at writing romantic comedies. This book is most definitely not a romantic comedy, but it is so well written.

It's like when you're channel surfing and catch the beginning of a movie you're not planning on watching. But you leave it on the channel so you can stand up and get a drink in the other room while it starts. You're in the other room, but you're listening to the movie and by the time you sit back down, the movie has started to suck you in, so you think to yourself you'll just watch this movie a few more minutes. Before you know it, you're half-way through the movie you never planned to watch, but it's so good you are completely sucked in and can't stop watching it now. That's what this trilogy is like. The characters are so well developed and the story is so good. And just when you think you have a character figured out, they surprise you. So by this point, this movie you didn't intend to watch, you're now fully engaged in and you KNOW you're going to watch the whole thing. Suspense is building, you're on the edge of your seat and then... the screen turns black with the words "to be continued".

That's pretty much where you are when you finish Cold, book 2 of this series. Then you find yourself yelling at the TV, or in this case, your kindle. And you're yelling at the authors for ending the 2nd book at this place, and you're cursing their names, when you know secretly they're laughing in glee for what they've done to you.

So that's where we are. I re-read book 2 just to make sure I got all the details and it left me just as distraught the second time I read it as it did the first time. I NEED to get my hands on this 3rd book as soon as possible. I NEED to know how the movie, err book ends!

Cold is the second novel of the Stone Cold Fox trilogy and picks up immediately where Stone left off. (Do not read #2 unless you've read #1!) After what happened at the end of the first novel, Levi knows he has a lot of work to do to be able to have a chance with Ivy. He's practically a different person now - sweet, caring, attentive, patient, less likely to fly off the handle (almost even swoon worthy!). However, Ivy wants nothing to do with him. She doesn't trust him after what happened. But, someone is sending her flowers.. and it's not Levi.. so who could it be?..

While Levi was becoming a better person, Ivy was well... Ivy. If I thought Levi was prone to flying off the handle, look out for her! That woman and her emotions almost give me whiplash. But I guess that's their thing though? Yelling and screaming at each other then kissing? *Shakes my head* Honestly, that was pretty much what this one was about.. Ivy wanting nothing to do with Levi.. Yelling.. Kissing.. Repeat. However the story wasn't entirely lackluster, there was definitely some twists and turns in there!

Without giving spoilers, we learn of the turmoil that Levi went through with Grace and then the reasons for his previous behavior just clicks into place. No wonder he was so closed off and afraid of commitment. My heart breaks for him.

BUT SPEAKING OF HEART BREAK!! The cliffhanger at the end of Cold was a doozy. If I thought the cliffhanger at the end of the first one was rough, I was not prepared for what Max Monroe had planned for us in this second novel! I have to start book three, Fox, immediately!
