➳Title: ➳ ❤ Alien Mates: The Complete Box Set ➳ Books 1-4 ➳Author: ➳ Ashley L. Hunt
ღ If you love alien books, you’ll enjoy this collection Each of the four novels is a standalone book but the real pleasure comes from reading all four in sequence. ♥●• So many layered story of mystery, adventure & action.
► The books are all a little different, so I don't feel like the author is just pumping them out according to some formula. The characters are well developed & likable.
💞. I enjoyed all 4 books but my favorite was Joanna & Volistad
➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

Book 1 - Volistad Book 2 - Kerr Book 3 - Yahn Book 4 - Jasih

Joanna Angeles has been trained to go to an alien world and prepare it for human colonists due to arrive in 10 years time. However she is not so confident when she awakes to find herself on a frozen world with an artificial intelligence in her head to keep her company and stop her going insane. Volistad is a warrior and hunter known as a ranger and a member of the Erinye. He sees a god arrive on his world and finds that he will have to go against his leadership to find out more about this god. They both get caught up in ancient dark secrets and have to work together to get past everything. Can they save the Erinye and make the kind of environment that the incoming humans and Erinye can live together in harmony?
This was a great story that added a futuristic touch with the AI in her head and the nanobots helping with everything. The building relationship between Joanna and Volistad was nicely written and I enjoyed the sections about learning the language. Everything was well written and clear/easy to understand. I could feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters and it was easy to empathise with them.
Kerr 4*
Kataline is a genetically engineered human who has been educated ready to bring peace to Earth - not that anyone bothered to ask her is she was happy to do that. Kerr is the alien Prince of Euthenia and he is the one she is being given to. However when they are travelling to Euthenia the human colonists from Earth start an uprising and Kataline is imprisoned by her father and starts to wonder if that was his plan all along.
This was a story with Kataline and Kerr as main characters but it covered their parents and friends too. Whilst it started in a very misogynist society it soon moved to a society where women were at last equal and able to have their own lives and hopes and dreams. I liked that the society was able to develop and correct many of the past wrongs by the younger generation. I did find it a little rambling and thought that the focus on the older generation was a little misplaced in a book with the title Kerr. The descriptions of emotions were clear and easy to understand and the writing was good.
Yahn 5*
Yahn is a tall, blue-skinned Karkastian, and Jessie is a beautiful soldier assigned to explore the planet of Karkast which has recently been devastated by Sarceastians (a race that is determined to conquer the galaxy and use the resources they find to add to their wealth). Everything changes when Jessie encounters the last member of the Karkastian race (Yahn) and decides not to kill him but to protect him. Instead they both become fugitives having many adventures, drama and danger as they get to know each other better and gain acceptance for being together. As part of this journey they end up being known as liberators and gain allies across the galaxy even though they make a dangerous enemy too. Can they survive or will they go one crisis too far in their quest to be together in safety and happiness?
Wow - twists and turns had nothing on this story as they moved from one crisis to another in their need for acceptance and somewhere to call home. There was lots of danger and drama, whist in between there were tender moments of love and passion. It was charming to experience the relationship between Yahn and Jessie develop and blossom into something much more. A great read.
Jasih 4*
This story is set on Earth in 2514 AD when the planet is abandoned and humans have spread to other planets in the galaxy. Eladia is a Chronicler and together with Silver her AI robot her tries to find artefacts and some mystery. There she meets Jasih an alien who has been in stasis since he crashed on Earth. Jasih has a dark secret and seems to have 2 personalities trapped in the one body. Can they work together to solve what is known as the Great Mystery and can they prevail when there are people around them trying to stop their progress?
This is much more like a true Science Fiction story with just a little alien mate thrown in for good measure so you might not enjoy this story if you are not into pure science fiction. I liked the descriptions of the worlds and the people and events there as they were very clear and easy to understand. I did find the emotion parts of the story a bit intense at times and the dual personality aspect didn't always help until I got a fair amount through the story and understood it better. This definitely didn't feel like a love story and was much more like science fiction with a bit of sex thrown in for good measure. The ending was good and I liked the way the story finally came to a stop.
This is a compilation of four Alien Mates books for us to enjoy! Having them all together in a box set is fantastic! Below is a review of two of them as samples of the action you can expect in these books!
>>> Reviewing “Volistad – Book 3” <<< The big day had arrived – the travelers had been selected and the President made his speech about their heroism in going out into space to find a new habitat for the future. The truth was, they were not heroes; they were not even volunteers. They were the “dregs of society”, wards of the State, who had nothing and would not be missed. Joanna Angeles waited for her turn to be literally “shot” out of The Gun that would send her “bullet” pod into space toward the planet she was to land on. No one knew if the travelers would make it there alive or not -- nor even if they would survive once there. If they survived, they would have 10 years to create a new world for the ship of 10,000 refugees who would follow – or die if the new world wasn’t ready! No pressure?
Joanna woke in a log cabin to the smell of bacon. She met Barbas, the AI implanted in her, and he explained she was dreaming and he could put them in any environment or situation she wished for. But when her “bullet” landed, all she saw was white! Her planet was ice – actually it was a moon in perpetual eclipse. And they would need to build a shelter as quickly as possible to survive the temperatures. But what she doesn’t know is that she is not alone on the planet! Will she survive? Will she be able to prepare an environment for the refugees coming to live here? And how will she communicate and fit in with those who already live here?
This was a really good, well written book. The focus on world-building is absolutely true. The details provided by the author were amazing. It gave the reader the feeling of actually being there and seeing everything firsthand. One could immerse themselves and enjoy the book among the characters described so thoroughly that they became real! I definitely recommend this one! You’ll love it!
>>> Reviewing “Yahn – Book 4” <<< People had told Jessie that it would be an easy way to make tuition money for college if she joined the military and went on a few galactic expeditions. But they lied.
The first mission was to the planet Karkast, which was vaguely similar to Earth in its early formative years, with an unforgiving landscape and three blazing hot suns. The Karkastians had been attacked by the ruthless Sarceastians who had value for nothing – reminiscent of the Nazgul in “The Lord of the Rings” -- which was why Jessie was headed there as part of a team to look for and capture any Karkastian survivors. Jessie felt it was wrong to think of the planet’s entire population, or what was left of it, as terrorists just because of the actions of a few. She didn’t like hunting down the survivors like this.
After the team hunted one of the Karkastians and killed him, the team split up and continued their search for others. Jessie found a Karkastian, Yahn, and started talking to him. Neither of them was what the other had expected, and they started to see the good in each other. This openness and compassion would be invaluable when their path leads them in a surprise direction! What will the future bring as they must escape to survive?
If you love alien books, you’ll enjoy this one! Don’t miss out. Grab a copy for yourself!
Volistad Joanna has been sent as a terraformer, 10 years ahead of the colony from Earth. Her job is to get a settlement ready for them. She did not count on an AI coming along for the ride in her brain, or on meeting a huge alien Caveman/Shifter! Volistad is a warrior and ranger. He and his tribe live by the rule of the elders and their gods. But when he meets Joanna, he begins to question just how much he really knows about his world.
Great mix of stone age, high-tech, PNR and Sci-fi! There was no clear path for Joanna and Volistad, especially with Barnbas thrown in!
Kerr
Kataline is a mix of Cinderalle and Belle. She is the perfect princess for an alien prince. Kerr is said prince who is unsure if Kataline is involved in the insurrection instigated by her father. And Euthenia is the jewel that's being fought over.
Yahn
Yahn is the last of his blue-skinned Karkastian race. Jessie is a soldier/explorer sent to Karkast and finds the Yahn, the sole survivor. Now both fugitives, it is them against worlds!
Jasih
Eladia is a Chronicler finds artefacts to help unearth history. Jasih crashed on Earth, now an abandoned planet, some time ago and been trapped in a coma like stasis since. He could define split personality though, as two personalities clash for superiority within him.
I read each book as it came out and now you can get them all in one place! These stories are longer than some of the author's other stories, so if you are looking for sci-fi alien romance, this boxset is for you! Each story is completely its own and will take you on a journey to far planets and distant galaxies and even into the future. The stories contain lots of action, love, mysteries, and discoveries and will draw you into the story. You will discover hot alien men and the strong women who fall in love with them and in some cases save not only them but whole worlds and universes.
Wow this box set will take you to out of this world !! I love the way Ashley L Hunt has created a story that has such strong women and the men who are strong enough to stand beside them ! The first story about Joanna and Volistad does start with the background that is needed to understand what is going on and is kind of slow but once she is gone in the Bullet all that will change ! Get ready to read some outstanding stories and be ready to fall in love with them ! This is well written and recommended !
Sorry no spoilers. I quite enjoyed these books well after I got through the first couple chapters of the first book I did enjoy the stories. The first book kinda dragged a little and confused me in the beginning but then the pace picked up and wow what a whirlwind of a ride. So if you want my advice get these books and give it a try because there’s no harm in trying, I tried and I’m glad I did.
I began reading stories from this author with her first book and decided I loved her stories so I bought both her series. I was disappointed with the rest of her books. There was too many grammatical errors and it took away from the stories. Also the dialogues were stilted. Sorry could have been better.
Each one of the books in this boxset is a standalone novel and has nothing to do with each other, other than they are alien related. Each book is filled with suspense, action, drama and plenty of twist and turns.
The first 2 stories are well written however that last two books were spoilt by the way they were written or by whoever put them on the kindle. Books 3 and 4 had so many( especially book 4) grammar mistakes it became very hard to read thus spoiling the story.
These should definitely be made into a movie or TV series. The cultural and language differences are interesting and hilarious! Action-packed, a bit of mystery and some hot sex!
The first 2 books in this series were fun and witty. The last 2 seemed to drag on and on. Hunt has written some good stories before, but these were not her best.
