The Bunny and the Billionaire

Rate this book
Spending their fortunes and losing their hearts.

Hardworking Australian nurse Ben Adams inherits a substantial sum and decides to tour Europe. In Monaco, the home of glamour and the idle rich, he meets French billionaire playboy Léo Artois. After getting off on the wrong foot—as happens when one accuses a stranger of being part of the Albanian mafia—their attraction blazes. Léo, born to the top tier of society, has never known limits, and Ben, used to budgeting every cent, finds it difficult to adjust to not only Léo's world, but also the changes wealth brings to his own life.

As they make allowances for each other's foibles, Ben gradually appreciates the finer things, and Léo widens his perspective. They both know one thing: this is not a typical holiday romance and they're not ready to say goodbye.

LOUISA MASTERS started reading romance much earlier than her mother thought she should. While other teenagers were sneaking out of the house, Louisa was sneaking romance novels in and working out how to read them without being discovered. She’s spent most of her life feeling sorry for people who don’t read, convinced that books are the solution to every problem. As an adult, she feeds her addiction in every spare second, only occasionally tearing herself away to do things like answer the phone and pay bills. She spent years trying to build a “sensible” career, working in bookstores, recruitment, resource management, administration, and as a travel agent, before finally conceding defeat and devoting herself to the world of romance novels. Louisa has a long list of places first discovered in books that she wants to visit, and every so often she overcomes her loathing of jet lag and takes a trip that charges her imagination. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she whines about the weather for most of the year while secretly admitting she’ll probably never move.

I’ll admit, my expectations are not high when it comes to DSP in house series. 😁 They are usually a hit or miss for me but damn, how I loved this fluffy and funny book Louisa Masters crafted. 🥰 Yes, admittedly, the romance between Leo and Ben is quite sappy and cliche but it was so wonderfully and lovingly written that you can’t help but rooting for a modern fairytale between a billionaire and a commoner. 😉 I find Ben so adorably clumsy and bubbly and Leo to be kind, patient and not pompous despite his upbringing. The background setting of luxurious and breathtaking Monaco is fascinating and beautiful. And the romance between Leo and Ben is fluffy, sweet, extremely romantic and swoon-worthy. 💜 I really really enjoyed this light and sweet modern fairytale. Highly recommended if you are looking for a fluffy, angst-free, sexy read. 😊

Ben Adams is an RN who specializes in home health care for the terminally ill and was recently left a large sum of money by a patient after caring for her during the last years of her life. Ben is used to weighing everything he does or buys on merit and worth and is shocked when he is left the money. He’s used to buying his clothes in second hand or discounted stores and wearing them until they are threadbare or ready to be tossed and doesn’t factor traveling into his budget due to cost. But his last patient, Mrs. K, had talked about her favorite places to travel and Ben is now honoring her memory by traveling to them himself. While in Monaco eating the best ice cream ever, Ben sees a trio of men entering a casino who attract everyone’s attention but one in particular catches Ben’s fancy. Ben decides he has to meet this man and sets about buying the right outfit to get into the club.

Léo Artois is at the casino with his cousin Malik playing babysitter to their young cousin Karim who wants to experience all that is Monaco. Malik teases Léo about the young man who caught Léo’s eye as he quite enthusiastically licked ice cream off a spoon and nicknames him “bunny” because Léo eyed him as prey. When said bunny enters the casino looking lost but eager, Léo sets upon meeting the young man and possibly getting to know him better.

This took a bit for me to get into. I am new to the author’s writing and the first meeting with Ben and Léo felt awkward for me. Honestly the first few chapters were rough waters but the morning after their date, when Ben gets Léo’s note and talks to his best friend Danika about his romantic movie-eqsue encounter it started to smooth out. Ben’s lunch date that afternoon with Léo helped the things feel more cohesive and I started to see a connection between the men.

We get both POV’s in this story and it made for a sweet read. Ben being a self-proclaimed dork that intensifies when Léo comes around is endearing. I remember when I was 18 and had the biggest crush on a boy named Sol who worked in the department next to mine. I swear, every time I talked about him to my BFF/co-worker with heart eyes, she would get this look on her face and I knew he was standing right behind me. The smile and wink he would give me would make my brain short circuit and we won't even talk about the times I actually talked to him and ended up complimenting how good he looked when he was just freaking about not wearing a tie that day. Ugh. So yeah, I get being all thumbs and losing your tongue when a hot guy comes around.

You look at him like he’s edible, which doesn’t surprise me, but also like he makes your day better. He babbles, and you smile indulgently. It’s… surprising. Not bad, really, but surprising.

Getting Léo’s POV was a definite plus for me as I loved seeing this notable playboy billionaire who had the world at his feet fall for Ben simply because he was being himself. Léo’s finds what Ben would consider faults about his appearance or character endearing and adorable and getting it all from his POV made his side of this romance plausible. Seeing Léo do touristy things with Ben because it made Ben happy was lovely and his domesticity couldn’t have been more appealing.

The additions of Léo’s cousin Malik and best friend Lucien to the mix gave Ben a nice look into Léo’s world and allowed him to see Léo as more than his Wikipedia page. Ben needed to see that Léo wasn’t perfect and having friends rib Léo while sharing embarrassing stories of his youth to Ben certainly allowed for that to happen. I wish we had the chance to meet Danika in person but I did love her shopping trips with Ben and just how supportive she is of her best friend.

This romance moves along with very little angst between Léo and Ben with Ben extended his stay in Monaco indefinitely to spend more time with Léo. We get to experience the high life and notable locations the men visit while fitting into the lifestyle that Léo is familiar with. The couple falls quickly for one another and though Ben questions if their romance and love is only because they met while he was on holiday, the men stay true to their feelings and we get a nice ending wrapped up with an expensive bottle of champagne.

The Bunny and the Billionaire is the newest Dreamspun Desires book from Dreamspinner Press! This book keeps true to the theme of happily ever after and epic love stories. Who doesn’t want to fall in love with a billionaire and have them love you in return?

Ben is traveling Europe after inheriting millions. The reason for his holiday is so heartwarming and really makes you just love him completely.

He’s clumsy, not used to such money, and hilarious. When he meets Leo and his family and friends he sticks out like a sore thumb. But, it goes smoothly and while they all teach Ben about the lavish life, he teaches them humility.

I really loved the relationships in this. Obviously Leo and Ben’s but also Ben and his best friend Dani. And Leo with Malik and Lucien that soon includes Ben and it’s so much fun!

The Dreamspun books have that Harlequin romance vibe to them that makes your heart flutter and leaves you with huge smiles. I really really loved this one and very much recommend it.

This is such a Harlequin-esque book. I mean, seriously, this one lays it on super thick, and as such fits the Dreamspun Desires series to a T.

Here we have Ben Adams, a nurse from Australia, who recently inherited a large sum of money (and when I say large, I mean LARGE) from the old lady whom he looked after for some time, and whom he still misses. Never having known wealth, Ben decides on a tour of Europe but still counting his pennies and saving money where possible.

While in Monaco, he meets Leo Artois, the billionaire from the book's title, who's never known a day without wealth, seeing how his mother is a princess and his father is not only fabulously wealthy but also almost French royalty or something of the sort.

Why Leo insists on calling Ben Bunny all the time escaped me. Leo, as well as his circle of friends, come across as the sort of people who never had to work a day in their lives and who think nothing of spending money whenever they please.

Ben only planned to stay in Monaco for a few days before heading to Italy, but after meeting Leo, and the instant attraction he feels for the man, he decides to stay a while longer.

What I liked about this book is that Ben isn't shy about pointing out to Leo how wasteful spending isn't impressive to him, and that Leo make concessions for Ben's point of view on money issues, but also teaches him that some things are worth the money they cost and introduces him to some of the finer things in life that most mortals will never be able to afford.

Ben, despite his substantial inheritance, is still a normal guy and tries to impress that normalcy on Leo.

I believed their holiday fling. Their attraction burned brightly from the start, and I bought that Leo was fascinated with Ben, and vice versa, but their HEA romance - nah. Didn't believe it. They had so little in common, and despite Ben's new wealth, their social circles and life experiences didn't really mesh for me at all. Ben was too normal whereas Leo was way more sophisticated and often came across as someone whose illusions of entitlement were showing. Ben came across as uncomfortable with the OTT displays of wealth Leo and his circle found normal, and that doesn't make for a life-long romance. I mean, obviously with this series, disbelief must be suspended most of the time anyway, but the romance should still be something that resonates. And here, it sadly didn't, for me. YMMV.

The writing was pretty good; the dialogue was believable (with some snark, yay) for how the two men were characterized, and I'm interested in reading more by this author.

This is like so many mf books out there, a harlequin kind.
Billionaire and and Prince of Saudi. Ring any bells?
I don't even know where to start.LOL.
Okay, so this guy inherited some sum of money, and travel around the world and stuck in Monaco, and met this oh handsome as sin man. Turn out he's billionaire, Mom a princess from Saudi and daddy from France. Man of my dreams (literally). Who don't love billionaire, right?

Remember Pretty Woman? Cinderella, or some books with billionaire and written as good?
I don't think I found in this book. Ben was busy with his own thoughts on how rich Leo is, and Leo was busy flaunting his money and trying to put Ben in his circle. That's good, I think. But my head was kinda dizzy reading everything 'MONEY'.

I was tired of billionaire in mf book and moved on to mm and I found this (wishing this is different from mf billionaire, but apparently, NOT).
This book is not for me.

Sweet romance-on-the-run story!

Ben is an instantly likable character with his curiosity, kindness, and practicality even while on holiday in one of the most luxurious places in the world; Leo is so smooth he might as well be buttered silk. They could not be more different as a couple yet I found myself drawn to their romance anyway. Their differences were what made them work so well together. Leo had to look at life from the perspective of someone who'd not grown up surrounded by wealth while Ben had to learn to accept wealth could be simply a part of someone's life without being the only thing which defined them.

I loved the way Louisa Masters managed to bring so much of Australia into Ben's depiction while staying true to Monaco and France with Leo. Leo's comrades-in-arms -Malik and Lucien- were delightful scoundrels while Ben's bestest Dani made everything seem so much more amazing when seen through the eyes of a third party. A solid four-star read, The Bunny and the Billionaire is a great way to take a book vacation, experience the best of the best, and guarantees to put a smile on your face with it's fairy tale (beginning, middle, and end) love story.

The Bunny and the Billionaire is such a fun and sweet story. I laughed loudly on many occasions and finished off this superb book feeling content. With many endearing scenes, we're able to really get to know the characters well, making it easy to actively cheer for a HEA. There's also a beautiful sexy scene too, making it impossible not to swoon..

With a spot-on pace and witty dialogue, I inhaled and loved every word.

Bloody fabulous.

‘The Bunny and the Billionaire’ is built around the billionaire trope so often found in all kinds of romances – but with a twist. In this case, the second main character is not a pauper, but someone who has inherited millions and is trying to get used to them. It makes money and how to deal with it without letting it ruin your life the central topic of this novel – aside from the super sweet romance, that is.

I enjoyed the fairytale-esque story of Ben and Leo.

Enjoyed the Monaco setting.

However my problem was with the narration (sorry narrator). He told the story well but accents are not his thing.

It wasn't until thecstory told us Ben was Australian that I had any idea what the accent was. Maybe it is because I am Australian that it grated on my ear?

Sweet, silly and fun. Sometimes I thought Ben’s silliness was too much and the author didn’t give us an epilogue, but it definitely ends happy.-

Australian Nurse Ben Adams is on holiday in Monaco after inheriting a substantial sum of money. People watching, he notices Leo Artois and thinks he could be part of the Albanian Mafia. When he actually meets him and expresses that sentiment, it does not lead to a good impression. Their attraction is off the charts but Leo is from lots of money and Ben is used to budgeting. As the two become closer and closer, it becomes clear they want more than just a holiday fling.

I loved Ben with his astonishment of how the uppercrust lives. He just could not believe anyone would live that way. Leo for his part could not believe anyone could live as Ben did. The two were in for eye opening learning. It was fun to watch as they were able to find common ground and build on it. If you are looking for a nice, delightful romance, this is the one for you.

Romantic light fun MM romance
This title's the first in an MM contemporary romance series. HEA. Billionaire romance. Holiday romance. Can be read as a standalone.

If you're looking for a total no angst, HEA, something very romantic, pleasant, light, with a side of something funny even, not too short not too long, this might just be it. It was for me. It was an easy and effortless read. Nothing heavy. Nothing complicated. Such traditional romance in MM form.

I think it was well written and even funny. Enjoyable. Nothing negative to remark. Pretty much what you see is what you get.

I'm shocked that this book worked for me but I thought it was adorable. Exactly the right kind of fluff I wanted. I don’t know what makes some fluffy stories work for me and others completely tank but this one had the right stuff. Loved Ben and Leo together. Loved all the side characters. Would’ve liked more on-page intimacy but all in all, v happy w this book after so many flops lately. Oh and great narration--I def think this was a case of the narration elevating the story.

I was distracted by the narration so much that it’s hard for me to really evaluate this book on it’s own merits.
I think it’s a fairly sweet, a little funny, and somewhat adorable “troptastic” romance that throws two very different men at one another. We have a hard working, frugal man who ends up super rich thrown together with a billionaire who maybe doesn’t appreciate life like he could.

There’s not much angst or romantic tension and I missed that. The couple is cute together and Ben is pretty funny. (I wasn’t sure about the whole Bunny thing but… to each his own.)

With this series you expect the clichéd and accept some idealized futures. While I can appreciate that these guys were enjoying the heck out of experiencing one another’s life styles, I wasn’t convinced on their chemistry/cohesiveness for the long term. I have a hard time seeing them day to day for the long haul. However… if that sort of thing doesn’t bug you then you’ll likely enjoy the extravagance of Leo’s life and find the mix of Cinderella and Pygmalion delightful.

Unfortunately, I was so dismayed by the narration that it was hard for me to become immersed in the story.

I’ve really enjoyed Peter Brooke’s narrations in the past and I was so surprised that this wasn’t as good as his others. (See Shira Anthony’s Blue Note Series https://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_... - which was fantastic!) In fact, I chose this to review because I’d had such a lovely time listening to his other narrations.
His French accent is good but what was Ben’s accent??? It moved and at times I thought he was mid-west American, Cockney or from Brooklyn. It was ever changing and very distracting.

I think reading this would be a fun, light, low-angst few hours, but I’d listen to the sample before buying the audiobook.

So promising (did not finish)

I sadly have to agree with another reviewer - Ben (was that his name?) was very annoying. I've never met someone who was so irritatingly insecure about themselves. We get it, he used to living on a lower income. A chapter in, I'd read enough about his budgeting and shock at the wealth being thrown around in Manaco (a place he specifically went to for gawking at wealthy people).

The other guy seemed nice enough, but that wasn't enough to make me able to endure Ben. I think budget consciousness could be endearing in small doses, or ellicit sympathy if it was based on real need. However, making it the one defining characteristic of an otherwise bumbling character that actually has no money problems just means I have no sympathy or interest in that character.

Also, the part of the book that went on and on about how the guy was able to finally stay in nice hotels and go to high end vacations was very off-putting. Some of my favorite vacations have been on a tight budget. I love trips where I wander and don't blow money on overpriced meals in touristy cafes. There's absolutely nothing that makes a vacation at a wealth hotspot better than one on the cheap. And honestly, 75% of the time, the food in the more expensive places are not nearly as good as a hole-in-the-wall somewhere with distinctive cuisine. And come on, I'm pretty sure Monaco is not known for their mind blowing ice cream or cuisine.

A guy traveling around Europe meets a playboy billionaire in Monaco. Instalust becomes love, and of course, shenanigans occur.

This book is really the epitome of what I have always liked about romance novels: they're just so happy. I mean, yeah, traumaporn is not exactly unpopular (and recovery from some ancient/recent hurt is an exceedingly common trope), but let's be honest - we're reading for the inevitable happy ending. Charming Him manages to lead up to the happily ever after very nicely: the couple manage to navigate their differing expectations and personalities very naturally, while never becoming too cliché (okay, yes, it is cliché, but it doesn't feel like it, and that's what matters).

I found this one when searching for Dreamspun Desires on the Amazon Kindle store and selected it at random (mainly because it was free). The line is a bit uneven but some of the books are true hits: the stakes are very rarely higher than "will the relationship survive," racial diversity is significantly more common than in other lines/publishers/websites, it covers a billion different tropes, and the books tend to be solid overall. They're like the m/m racially diverse version of Harlequins. I will continue to look for more books in the line.

Read if you like the billionaire trope, exotic locales, and a low-stakes build-up to the happy ending.

After receiving an inheritance from a wealthy client, Nurse Ben Adams travels the world. When he stops in Monaco, he meets Leo. Leo is a billionaire who spends his days visiting with his friends and doing as he pleases.

They have the ultimate meet-cute and through the next few months, they fall in love.

I just love this story and when I need a quick, fluffy, sweet romance, this is my go-to.

Oh man, I just ate this book up!

Working with just the right amount of cliche and easy to feel romance, this book hit all the right notes. Leo and Ben meet up with a bit of a meet cute/lust at first sight encounter. Seeing how each man is affected and interested and they seek each other out, it is easy to believe that they would want to try out the coffee and dates thing- or even just fall into bed.

Ben is a sweet guy and out loving his vacation, but he is also a bit fanciful. He gets caught up in his head easily and imagines plenty of crazy things. It starts an interesting situation when, between alcohol and confusing moments, he thinks Leo might be a con man, a mobster, or an assassin. It is easy to follow his train of thought when in his perspective, but it makes for some amusing confusion with others. Ben is caring, having been someone who chose nursing as a profession out of a loving passion for it, and he is open and loving to those around him. While he has difficulty figuring out the world of the rich he goes into it with hope and love and that brings him some close friends and easily builds his relationship with Leo.

Leo is painted as a playboy from the outside, but reading from his perspective you can see it isn't just that. He has done some things in his life to buck parental expectation- after all, he won't have his love life dictated. But at the same time, he is one to love and care and would like that someone to have in his life. Leo is surprised at his feelings for Ben but he doesn't panic or push against them, instead embracing them and looking forward to a relationship and a life. It makes him a good match for Ben's open caring.

This was a sweet and easy book without unnecessary relationship foibles or villainous plots. I fell for the characters and loved reading about them fall for each other. Very lovely romantic read!
