Twice Cursed

Rate this book
One minute I was minding my own business, just trying to get back to my dorm room after class, and the next minute I was waking up in the middle of a police raid with my would-be rescuer lying dead on the floor and the remnants of a strange occult ritual scattered all around me. This might sound like a typical Tuesday night, but for me, this was all kinds of crazy, and I was most definitely going to do my best to forget that it ever happened.

But what had really happened that night? I was just a student, an American overseas trying to get a year of study under my belt. A year in London would be just what I needed to propel me into the academic career of my dreams. Unfortunately, those dreams seemed to be slipping through my fingers… I didn’t ask to be kidnapped, and I certainly didn’t ask for these weird nightmares or black-outs.

Bayleigh Cameron’s year abroad was going just fine, except for the fact that she’s being stalked through the streets of London by a secret society obsessed with the rebirth of an ancient goddess who they believe will propel them towards the world domination they crave. Unfortunately for them, an interrupted ritual could turn the wrath of the goddess in the wrong direction, and there’s nothing they can do to stop it.

"Twice Cursed" is a standalone Urban Fantasy novel featuring ancient magic, rituals, murder, intrigue and a really cranky deity.

Bayleigh is an exchange student in London she is rescued from a kidnaping and strange and bizarre things are happening to her and around her and she doesn’t understand what’s going on and there’s no one that can help her. There’s action, suspense, twists and turns, questions but no answers yet you will have to wait for the next book. I loved this story it grabbed me from the start and wouldn’t let me go until the end, a very entertaining and page turning story. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This was a short, suspenseful novel full of mystery and unresolved questions. I loved it! Can't wait for the next one.
The author again changed things a bit. Her impeccable writing style is there but the story line and the characters bear no similarities with the previous series in any way. The story revolves around Bayleigh, Chicago exchange student in London, and follows a chain of unexplained events and behaviours affecting Bayleigh.
Bayleigh is a bit lost, which is understandable, as the story starts with her being rescued from some bizarre kidnapping. Strange things are happening to her and she is trying to deal with them the way she can. And at the moment it feels like she is pretty much alone in this. There are people who care but they cannot help her.
So basically, the story recounts events and does not offer answers yet. They will come later, as this is just a warm up for the action, like a good background to the story. I am just saying this as a warning, if you cannot deal with lack of resolutions, you need to wait for Black Lotus to come out before you start reading. I promise it is worth it because the suspense and mystery are off the charts. Amazing start of the new series.

This is one of those strange little stories that keeps you guessing. Bayleigh is not sure what to make of her life either. It definitely intrigued me and kept my interest and I look forward to learning more in the next book.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

MYSTERY, MURDER AND MAYBE DEMONIC MAYHEM!!!
This is a really great book if you're looking to lose that stubborn belly fat. You can have a full stomach exercise work out while reading this little gem. Honest truth. I think I lost two inches. If you're looking for a read that draws you in from the beginning, keeps you on the edge of your seat (as well as racking those nerves), complete focus on the pages as your waiting for the next shoe to drop. Right here. This is one gripping, suspenseful, nailbiting read with twists, turns and plenty of unexpected surprises that will rock your world. I was captivated from the start and couldn't put it down until the last word. Now, I'm going to be screaming until I can get the next installment. Yeah, yeah, I know. Poor me! Seriously, I can't wait to find out where Meredith is taking us on the little run for your life tale. Lots of questions to be answered. Meredith did a remarkable job getting my attention and holding it tight. The characters and scenes were intriguing and some I wanted to reach through the pages and b**ch slap. Yes I said that. Thanks for sharing Meredith. I'll be waiting for the next big news. Great job.
