Read this back in 1994. It seemed full of ideas and such at the time, and encouraged me to do some creative thinking. I think, however, it was mostly a book full of other people's material rehashed!

A heard about this book long ago when I was in high school, and I finally got around to reading it. I would say this book is more of a source of inspiration rather than detailed information, but then again, it does provide a lengthy list of resources at the end of the book for further reading. Although it oversimplifies many new education techniques (and fails to provide solid empirical support for many of them), the basic thesis of the book is solid: expect more from education and the potential of the human mind. One of the most valuable points repeatedly made in the book is the importance of various learning modalities and how most modes of learning are underutilized in traditional educational settings. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to have a little more guidance on how to incorporate some of those techniques into a bureaucratic, relatively monolithic public school setting. I would recommend this book to all educators, if for no other reason than to inspire them to always look for better ways to reach students.

AKu bisa belajar banyak dan mendapat suatu hal yg berarti dalam dunianpendidikan yg gak aku dapetin di FKIP dulu. Buku ini banyak kasih threatment bagaimana mengajarkan sesuatu hal yang menarik pada setiap orang meski qta sendi kurang mood... Jadi pas lagi bad mood dan gak ada ide biasanya buku ini bisa kasih solusi deh meski gak 100%..,

Książka, która w prosty i uczciwy sposób pokazuje, a raczej radzi, co zrobić, by nauka była owocna i nie była męką. Ta pozycja zwyczajnie sprawia, że proces uczenia się staje się eksplozją kolorów i emocjonalnie przypomina poszukiwanie skarbów.
Gordon Dryden i Jeannette Vos napisali przejrzystą opowieść o drodze człowieka do wiedzy. Znajdziemy tu wskazówki, jak szybciej i lepiej się uczyć, ale i odkryjemy tajniki naszego umysłu. Okazuje się, że REWOLUCJA W UCZENIU przyszła do nas w miękkich pantoflach i nie wszyscy ją zauważyliśmy, ponieważ jesteśmy jej częścią. To, jak będą wyglądać szkoły, jest nie tylko inspirujące i pobudza wyobraźnię, ale także pokazuje, jak diabelnie szybko dostosowujemy się do pędzącej rzeczywistości. Nasze dzieci wzrastają w erze wirtualnej, ich młodość jest zupełnie inna, niż była nasza. Cóż... czasem trudno nadążyć.
W tej pozycji śledzimy poczynania ludzkości w kontekście wszechobecnej nauki. Uczymy się czytając, słuchając, mówiąc, robiąc... cały czas się uczymy i im będziemy tego bardziej świadomi, tym lepiej wykorzystamy pozyskane umiejętności i je utrwalimy.
REWOLUCJA W UCZENIU jest świetnie skonstruowana i można ją pobieżnie przeczytać w piętnaście minut - i wiele zrozumieć. Można czytać ją dokładnie, od deski do deski i poznać całe spektrum prezentowanych w niej wiadomości, a można wybierać sobie treści, które najbardziej nas interesują.
Prosty i otwarty, szczery przekaz sprawia, że czytelnik pochłania informacje jak najpyszniejszy obiad. To mądra książka, która może realnie zmienić nasze życie i życie naszych dzieci. Jest praktyczna i filozoficzna. Docenia człowieka, a każdy lubi być doceniony. Jest bardzo dobrze zaprojektowana, rozdziały są ułożone w sposób mądry i przejrzysty, a cytaty rozluźniają atmosferę i sprawiają, że prezentowane fakty łatwiej się zapamiętuje i, co ważniejsze - się je rozumie.

Muutamia mielenkiintoisia oppimismetodeja, mutta jos on lukenut aiemmin oppimiseen liittyvää kirjallisuutta ja/tai kognitiivista psykologiaa, ei tämä kirja tarjoa juurikaan uutta. Sen sijaan kirja sisältää paljon ylitsevuotavaa (tai paremminkin överiä ja hyvin,hmmmm, amerikkalaista) hehkutusta oppimisen vallankumouksesta ja huikeista tulevaisuuden kouluista. 1990-luvun puolivälissä ilmestynyt opus julistaa mm: ”Kuvittele, 2000-luvun yhteiskunnassa, vain muutaman vuoden päästä, jokaisella oppilaalla on oma kannettava tietokone ja internet-yhteys!” ”Jokainen nelivuotias osaa lukea, kirjoittaa, laskea ja puhua kolmea tai neljää kieltä!” Ok. En tiedä, ihanko vilpittömästi kirjan kirjoittajat uskoivat, että jokaisella oppilaalla olisi 2000-luvulla macbookit kainalossa tai edes tasavertaiset oppimismahdollisuudet, vai oliko editointivaiheessa ”jokaisella länsimaisen hyvinvointivaltion oppilaalla” vahingossa typistynyt muotoon ”jokaisella”. Ja miksi nelivuotiaan edes pitäisi osata lukea ja kirjoittaa ja hallita Pythagoraan lause? Miksi nelivuotiaan pitäisi tehdä yhtään mitään muuta kuin väsätä hiekkakakkuja ja hyppiä lätäköissä ja olla nelivuotias?
Plussana mainittakoon, että kirja sisältää laajahkosti tutkimustietoa ja käytännön neuvoja musiikin hyödyntämisestä opiskelussa ja muistamisessa. Menee ehkä kokeiluun.

Buku tahun 2002 an yang "terpaksa" harus dibaca karena seringkali kesulitan belajar..yg unik dari buku ini..setiap halaman genap..kiri kita..itu ada frame utk ringkasan atau quotes..tebalnya lumayan..perlu baca ulang utk bisa bantu anak-anak mengerti "cara belajar".. pengen lihat cetakan terbarunya..siapa tau ada revisi-revisi..buku oke untuk yg pengen lebih pinter..

This is a good compilation of learning strategies and the difficult cultural learning methods. However I think it is more useful if you write a thesis than try to search the best method for yourself. You can find so many other authors's books in the book wich is relevant and can help if you are interested about the history of learning, and the scools teaching habits.

This is the second book I translated to Indonesian a long time ago. I did 2/3 of the whole book before I moved to Oslo.

It was quite an inspiring book about learning methods and its aspects. Had fun translating it.
